16 Best Beach Resorts for the Holidays

"Dubai does the most all the time — and, unsurprisingly, the holidays are no exception. Perched on 1.2 miles of prime beachfront real estate, Madinat Jumeirah boasts a massive amount of merriment. The festooned resort decks the halls (and lobbies) with nearly 200 Christmas trees and 400,000 twinkling lights. During the month of December, Fort Island also gets a winter wonderland makeover courtesy of a snow park, a Ferris wheel, a Venetian carousel, a mini train, bungee jumping, shops just for kids, live music, festive food and beverage huts, and wooden abra boat rides with Santa and his elves." - Lindsay Cohn Lindsay Cohn Lindsay Cohn is a writer, editor, and avid traveler who has visited 45 countries across six continents — and counting. I had a great stay — the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, and everything was well managed. Just a small suggestion to make things even better: I’ve recently seen hotels using a smart tool called HotelConnect. It lets guests scan a QR code in their room to access services, order food, explore local places, and more — all from their phone, without installing any app. It also helps hotels earn extra revenue by partnering with local vendors. Something like this could really enhance the experience here too.

Madinat Jumeirah is absolutely stunning — a perfect blend of traditional Arabian charm and modern luxury. The architecture is breathtaking, with beautiful canals, lush gardens, and authentic souks that give a real sense of place. The resort is massive, yet every corner feels thoughtfully designed and peaceful. There are plenty of dining options, from fine dining to casual cafes, all offering top-notch service and diverse cuisines. The private beach with views of the Burj Al Arab is a standout feature, and the whole atmosphere is calm, luxurious, and welcoming. Whether you’re staying at one of the hotels or just visiting for the day, it’s one of the most beautiful and unique places in Dubai — highly recommended!

I had the opportunity to attend an event at their ballroom, where our company held its annual gathering and Iftar celebration. The venue was truly impressive—spacious, elegant, and capable of accommodating up to a thousand guests comfortably. The evening went smoothly, with everyone enjoying the ambiance and festivities. The long entrance made for a grand photo opportunity, resembling a catwalk, while the spacious cocktail area provided a great space for mingling, interviews, and a pre-event holding area. Additionally, the outdoor section was a nice touch, offering a spot for guests to take a break, have a smoke, or enjoy casual conversations. This venue is ideal for large-scale events, dinner parties, weddings, and exhibitions. I would definitely love to return. I only wish I had the chance to book a room—it seems like the perfect place to stay overnight after attending such an event. The catering was excellent, and the staff were exceptionally generous, courteous, and professional. A truly memorable experience!

We had an unforgettable stay at Madinat Jumeirah. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive and personalized. The property is stunning, blending traditional Arabian charm with modern luxury. Our room was beautifully appointed with every comfort, and the views of the waterways and Burj Al Arab were breathtaking. The details throughout the resort made the stay exceptional. The boat rides, world-class dining, private beach and caring staff created a perfect experience. Madinat Jumeirah is more than a hotel, it is a destination we cannot wait to return to.

We absolutely loved everything about Madinat Jumeirah. The best time to visit is around 4:30–5:00 PM — it’s still warm, so fewer people are out, and you can really enjoy walking across the charming bridges and exploring the souk at your own pace. The Abra ride inside costs 100 AED per person for about 20 minutes. While it’s a bit pricey, some of the views are truly worth it. Beyond that, the whole Jumeirah area is fantastic — the service in the bars and restaurants is outstanding and matches exactly what you pay for. A must-visit spot in Dubai for views, dining, and atmosphere.

Madinat Jumeirah is a luxury resort complex and cultural destination in Dubai, designed to resemble a traditional Arabian town. It combines hotels, souks, waterways, and entertainment in a picturesque setting, offering both a luxurious stay and an authentic Arabian experience. The Madina is a Traditional Arabian architecture with wind towers, narrow lanes, and waterways, evoking old Dubai. The Madinat Souk offers boutique shops, handicrafts, jewelry, and souvenirs. Numerous restaurants, cafés, and bars serve international and Middle Eastern cuisine outta there, many with views of the waterways or Burj Al Arab. There is Canals wind through the complex, with traditional abra (boat) rides for a scenic tour. Private beach access for hotel guests, offering pristine sands and views of the iconic Burj Al Arab. Wheelchair-accessible pathways, ramps, and elevators throughout the resort. Madinat Jumeirah blends luxury, culture, and leisure, making it perfect for sightseeing, shopping, dining, or simply strolling along the canals. Its mix of traditional charm and modern comforts provides a quintessential Dubai experience.

Parking charges are absolutely ridiculous, getting in is “automated” but getting out requires a validation from the venue. Which is fair enough, the only issue is that the venue won’t bother to validate when presenting the bill and even when you ask to do so, they are only able to validate 3hrs. So no matter how much you spend, after 2:59hrs just leave.
