I previously gave Madison Taipei a 3-star review, even though I noted that the hotel had the potential for 5 stars. After experiencing the staff’s sincere efforts to improve and reflecting on the overall service, I’ve decided to revise my rating.
First, the happy hour between 6:30–7:30 PM was truly outstanding. A wide range of complimentary drinks, including whiskies, beers, and soft drinks—it’s a rare and thoughtful service that deserves real praise.
Regarding breakfast, my main suggestion is to improve variety. During our five-day stay, the same two cheeses and two cold cuts were served every morning. While not bad in quality, having the same items daily becomes monotonous. Including a rotation of local or imported cheeses every couple of days would elevate the experience. Also, there were no olives. While not a must, they could be a nice touch for guests who expect them.
We had a misunderstanding about eggs on the first day, which was later resolved. Still, the initial reaction could have been handled more calmly. Guests witnessing staff arguing—especially in front of the kitchen—is not ideal, especially over something as simple as two eggs.
On the positive side, housekeeping was excellent throughout our stay—clean, attentive, and consistent.
All in all, despite a few areas of improvement (mostly at breakfast), the overall experience was positive, and the staff showed real effort. Thank you again for your hospitality. I hope this feedback helps you offer an even better experience for future guests.
