Madison Taipei Hotel (Taipei, Taiwan) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"This modern design-led hotel on a tree-lined boulevard offers 5 different grades of rooms. All come with hard wood floors, king-size beds, floor-to-ceiling windows, Bluetooth speakers and rain showers. The spacious Madison rooms are worth checking out. Take a sip of your favourite whisky or cocktail in the comfy lounge on the ground floor, or dine at their trattoria on the first floor." - Tablet Hotels

The location is about 7 min walk from the red Xinyi Anhe station. Quiet and safe area. The mini bar was complimentary. The front desk staff were super friendly. The rooms and bathroom were spotless. The robes and slippers did it for me. Will def stay again when back in Taipei!

Loved everything about the hotel EXCEPT for one thing. The comfort level of the bedroom, beds, pillows and linens were very good for the price. Location is very convenient, walkable to everywhere with good breakfast options nearby. All the hotel staff were super friendly and efficient, including the doormen, receptionists and housekeepers! HOWEVER I do think the Urban Cafe manager could be a little MORE friendly. She did not smile much and every time I tried to visit the cafe, she would yell at me to stop me JUST to verify my room number although I have been staying there for 7-8 days. I go to the cafe almost everyday, and it's as if she's stopping a criminal from entering the cafe. She could really learn how to customer service for guests that go there everyday, she could say Hi and learn my name for starters. Madison Hotel, Please train your cafe manager to be more friendly and polite for your future guests! She makes it quite unpleasant for your hotel guests!

We had a great experience from the beginning. We had a warm welcome from the opening of their doors to greet us. Each day we were greeted by the staff. They were all very helpful. Daniel was very helpful is giving us guidance and directions to local restaurants and the night market.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this charming hotel. Room is comfortable, bathroom is equipped with a bathtub and really good shampoo/soap and they gave me a lot of pillows even when I didn’t ask for it haha. Mini bar items are all complimentary. Location is decent although I took private transport around everywhere and wouldn’t know if it is near to a train station. There is a bike sharing stand just a few streets away though so that was convenient when I decided to cycle around one morning. Only slight disappointment was that I requested for a room upgrade under my Marriott rewards and wasn’t provided with one, although the room I had was already very nice. Great hotel and hope to be back soon.

Excellent hotel. Very well located between 2 MRT stations. Staff are very friendly and go out of the way to make you feel comfortable! The happy hour every day between 6 pm to 7pm is a very nice gesture where the hotel provides high quality / premium drinks (including alcohol) at no cost is and helps one to chill out after a tiring day out.Breakfast menu is very sumptuous! I would highly recommend the place for anyone visiting Taipei!

Google
Disappointing Stay Despite Platinum Status It’s autumn in Taiwan, and the hotel’s central cooling system limits room temperature to 23°C — which might be fine for some, but not for me. When I first raised this issue, I was moved to another room, only to find the same problem — 23°C is the lowest it can go. The staff eventually brought me a fan, but that’s hardly a solution for a Marriott property. As a Platinum member, I’m honestly disappointed with the standard of this hotel. The high Google rating doesn’t reflect the actual experience here — the much lower Marriott.com ratings are, unfortunately, accurate. Pros: • Central yet quiet location Cons: 1. Noticeable sewage smell upon entering the room 2. Air conditioning capped at 23°C (misleadingly described as adjustable) 3. Limited amenities or dining options nearby This is my third of five nights, and I’ve been told nothing more can be done. Overall, not great — and certainly not up to Marriott’s usual standards. Skip this hotel.

Service was patchy. Some staff were well trained and attended to things efficiently, others were a little more distant and inattentive. Perhaps it's a training thing and staff may have been new. On the whole, enjoyable stay. Breakfast was not too elaborate but good enough. I sort of explore from a Marriot Tribute Portfolio hotel. There was however, one lady who worked the breakfast shift and was incredibly helpful and very quick to pick up on our requirements. She wore not the usual formal Marriot attire, but a blue uniform. She was fabulous and that is primarily the reason I did not rate service lower. She was good. The evening Happy Hours is a bit rushed , but the wines were good . The food offerings were so-so.

Google
Great location! Similar to the other comments, I also found a musty smell in the room. The smell goes away if you turn the AC really cold. Very quiet room though. Breakfast is average. It’s a new Marriott property, so you can’t use Marriott gift card here yet, so that was a bummer.

Yelp
This is a new Marriott Bonvoy hotel, 30 min away from the airport. The rooms are spacious and clean. We did ask for air freshener because of a slight moldy smell, they brought an air purifier to the room, The breakfast is included in the stay. It's an amazing buffet of both Taiwanese cuisine and American Continental cuisine. Staff are friendly and professional. Will stay here again.

Yelp
The room itself appeared nice and neat, but I wouldn't say it's the cleanest hotel I've been to. They give a 150nt voucher for the bar downstairs, so that was nice (though the drinks are more than that, which is expected). My only complaint is the moldy smell coming from the AC unit. I asked the front desk if they had any disinfectant spray, and they offered to bring in a air purification unit--which was nice, but did not help much with the musty/moldy smell. I ended up wearing a mask throughout my stay, so it was a bit inconvenient. I would suggest the hotel to check for mold and change their filters. If the rooms smelled as nice as the lobby, that would've been nice!

Yelp
Nice 4 star hotel with an awesome whiskey bar in the lobby. I'll definitely come back and stay here again.

Yelp
If I had to describe the Madison in a word it would be: luxe. And chic. And elegant. And modern. And classy. And and and...! It's one of those places where the toilet lid opens when you near.. And they offer complimentary snacks. And the fluffiest slippers you get to take home--whaaa? Depending on what side of the building you're on, you might have a fantastic view of Taipei 101. Oh and did I mention the free cell phone they let you use while staying with them? No more roaming for you! International calls for free! Whaaa? The breakfast buffet is pretty awesome, too. I got to experience more than once over the summer and while they have staples like breads and eggs and fruit etc, they also rotate a ton of dishes so you get a huge variety on the Asian to Western spectrum. My favorite was the duck salad. Yes. Duck. Salad. For breakfast. You should go spoil yourself here.

Yelp
I came to this hotel for a short trip to taipei with my mom. This hotel was very very clean! I loved the location of this place.. its super central to everything... walkable to ALOT of places! They also have umbrellas you could use in case it rains! The only thing i wasnt too impressed with was their breakfast.... it wasnt something i look forward to and prolly could miss. But overall , a great hotel to stay

Yelp
I found this hotel via reading reviews from yelp, TripAdvisor and hotel.com. The price was reasonable and my mother wanted to be near Taipei 101. The welcome was fantastic. Everyone is so friendly. Some of the staff members speak English which was helpful for us. Even when they don't they still give great service! We got our rooms upgraded. Yeah! Loved the room. It's spacious, modem and creek water/snacks. My favorite is the bathroom!

Yelp
Wow. Nice hotel. My brother checked in before I did and he got 2 rooms. When I got there they couldn't look up my information for about 10 minutes..until she asked someone else and they realized that I was already checked in and my stuff was waiting on the side next to the computer. Unfortunately they thought I only had one guest so they said they had to charge me extra because I had someone else with me..which was weird. The room I was in had 2 beds in it. The rooms are really nice and clean. There are automatic toilets, a fridge, slippers, toiletries. All of the snacks and drinks in the room are free for the eating/taking. The curtains are so opaque that in the morning it still looks like nighttime if they're closed. They were also able to hold all our luggage while we went out to eat and look around after check out. The entire layout of the place is spectacular and they have a lounge on the first floor with a live singer.

Yelp
I stayed here on a weeknight after booking on Hotels.com. Overall, it was a great stay and at times, it felt like we were the only guests there. The room was brand new and really, really nice. Super comfy bed, fluffy slippers and I loved the bathroom amenities. I think I literally gushed at the toothbrushes. (Trust me, they were cool.) The location is pretty convenient, but you'll need to stroll over to the Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT, or the Xinyi Anhe MRT. From my experience, it's definitely a sleek business hotel versus a party hotel and a good option if you want to steer clear of the Xinyi area but don't want to stay at the Shangri-La.
