Madison's Bakery - Baked Goods & Coffee Shop

The pastries and donuts were soft and had good flavor. Definitely coming back for the Jelly donuts — should’ve brought more to bring back home. The strawberry & cheese croissants were also pretty good! The breakfast sandwiches were not bad at all — a nice quick easy grab with their coffee.

I was trained as a baker many years ago. I worked at a Jewish bakery for 2 years that made the best sticky buns I ever ate. Fast forward 35+ yrs & I haven't had 1 like it til now. I think Madison's might have beat it. Their buns r big & sticky & absolutely delicious! Find them. I wish I found them B4 my mom passed away last year. She would've been to heaven on earth like she is now. Tyvm. I'll b back!

BEST CAKE EVER! If you need a cake for any occasion and want an exceptionally delicious chocolate cake, I HIGHLY recommend Madison’s Bakery. I ordered a half sheet cake for my daughter’s graduation and worked with Sammy to custom design it. She was SO wonderful to work with! She was attentive, responsive, and made sure every detail was perfect. The cake was chocolate with chocolate mousse filling and white frosting. Not only did we have more than enough cake for our party, but everyone was fighting over the last pieces to take home — it was truly that good! It was a cake to remember in every regard. Huge thanks to Sammy & the entire Madison’s Bakery team for making our celebration so special!

CAPE MAY: Madison's Bakery has the “best buns on the beach” and not only that, they also are a full service bakery featuring sticky buns, cakes, cookies, pastries, donuts, cupcakes, cinnamon buns, coffee & specialty drinks, pup cups, and even seasonal dog treats! Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed inside to order and you can enjoy your treats at their outdoor seating, strolling through the picturesque downtown with Victorian architecture, and enjoying ocean views from the promenade/boardwalk and beach (adhering to seasonal rules).

Pleasant staff and delicious baked goods make this a terrific resource. They were out of almond croissants when I went to the bakery around 1p, but they still had several different types of pastry available, so I got chocolate croissants which are phenomenal! Any time I return to Cape May I plan to buy more at Madison's Bakery.

Disappointed After High Expectations We had heard a lot of buzz about The Madison Bakery in Cape May and were excited to experience it for ourselves. We ended up visiting 2 locations—the beachside spot and the one at the Washington Street Mall—hoping to get the full picture. Unfortunately, the experience fell flat on both occasions. On our first visit, our girls ordered crepes. After the first bite, everything (all 7 of them) ended up in the trash—it simply wasn’t edible. Still hoping for a better outcome, we tried again the next morning at the other location. The bagel was decent, but the breakfast sandwich—egg, cheese, and sausage—was disappointing. The patty was extremely salty, chewy, and lacked freshness. The cappuccino tasted more like burnt coffee with a splash of milk. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches, two croissants, and two coffees. The total came to $45. We’re happy to pay a premium for quality food, but sadly, most of what we ordered either ended up in the trash or barely made it past a bite or two. While the staff was courteous and the locations are charming, the food and drinks didn’t live up to the hype. Perhaps we caught them on an off day, but our overall experience was underwhelming

I am so thankful for them! I was able to place an order from Colorado to have a cake delivered to a Cape May family member! Sami was so kind and helpful to get this done for me. It will be a great birthday surprise! Thank you!

The chocolate chip muffin is best gluten free baked good I’ve tasted in a while. Great texture, not too sweet, held up being dipped in coffee.

Visited today, June 21. 2025. Although the donuts looked yummy and there was a big variety, grabbed a plain sticky bun and one with nuts (walnuts) and raisins. This is not my 1st time eating sticky buns from Madison's, but this is the 1st having the add-ons and yes, delish! Think they may also add a bit of "syrup" in there when you do the add-ons. Staff was very friendly. Conveniently located near the Washington Mall area.

First and last time going here. 2 so-called "sticky buns" and a cup of coffee was over $17! Guess that is what they mean by getting Cape May-ed Obviously they never have had real sticky buns. No raisins, minimal cinnamon, no cloves and covered in a syrup goo...like a two day old Cinnabon left in a car. The coffee was burnt. Stop at Brintons in WWC or Frog Hollow in Ocean View if you want real sticky buns!
