We were only in Copenhagen for a couple of days, but we're lucky enough to stumble on Madklubben while out searching for somewhere for dinner.
The entrance was very warm and welcoming and the host very accommodating, despite being very busy, he found us a booth downstairs.
Our drinks order was taken swiftly and arrived shortly afterwards.
For starters my partner had the caesar salad which was perfectly fine with homemade croutons, and I had a wonderful steak tartare which was seasoned and balanced to absolute perfection.
For mains we shared the chateaubriand, which was cooked perfectly, but if I was being very critical it was hacked rather than sliced. However it was delicious and very tender! We had a selection of sides, the duck fat fries were delicious but that duck fat didn't really shine through, the ponzu and yuzu dressed pak choi was delicious and the onion rings were crisp and nicely seasoned. My partner's pepper sauce wasn't to either of our liking unfortunately but it didn't overshadow a wonderful meal.
A great meal, in a beautiful setting in a city we both fell in love with.
