Madonna del Sasso

We used the funicular to reach the church up the hill. Nice panoramic view of the lake from the top. Ideal for families. There are some steps to go to the Sanctuary of Madonna del Sasso, so be careful with children's pushchairs.

Well worth the 8 Euros round trip up the cable car from Locarno below. The view by itself is great, but take the time to walk down to the church because the views from the side arcade are even better. Visit the chapel, and don't worry about climbing back up the stairs because you can go directly from the church to the lower stop on the funicular.

Very nice church complex worth visiting.

It was a lovely experience to visit the church and museum. You take the venichular up and back and that was easy. The museum is free to enter and includes nice artworks and interesting items from the past that have been used in church life. You are able to attend mass here too. The church was full of art. This is a really nice activity to understand the history of this very special place.

A wonderful old place. It is possible to go up by funicular or by car. I also liked the ancient temple.

You will enjoy the most amazing view, but try to aviod coming here on foot during summer as there are many, many, many stairs. There are some parking spots if you decide to drive there.

The Madonna del Sasso in Orselina is a truly beautiful and special place. The stunning panoramic views from the sanctuary are simply breathtaking.

Great place to visit if you are able bodied! Get the Funicular up, visit the church and the grounds and take a walk down through history! It’s beautiful, relaxed and serene!
