The food is average, not even close to what we had in Oaxaca. Both chicken and pork are over cooked and dry. Very little service and didn’t provide napkin. Horchata tastes like it’s made with powder.

Very lovely ambiance with friendly sercice. No rush, a large menu with great variety, generous portions, and very delicious! We loved the pork and black molè, and mezcal crema with peanut chocolate cake for dessert.

Place is a little old and lacking maintainance, but food was spectacular and service was great. One of my favorite places in Monterrey. It is a must go. Try bocaditos del cielo!!

It's a cute authentic restaurant with variety of foods. The main dish was amazing with awesome quality! The soups are also great. Definitely worth a try to taste Oaxacan meals.

Delicious with a very cute atmosphere. We were the only people at the restaurant on a late Thursday night. The Chamorro Sin Madre (315 ps) was the highlight dish that was tender and succulent in a way that other similar pork osso bucco dishes have not been. The mole (305 ps) was good but the chicken on it could have been a throw away since the chicken breast was so dry. I did love the rice that was served with it. It was like chicken noodle soup but condensed into rice seasoning. If you get the tlayuda (285 ps), eat it first before the other dishes come in since the crust will get chewy and difficult to eat if you let it sit around. The sauces here are delicious! Even the chips served at the beginning came with a mole that was absolutely delicious!

Really wanted to like this place...but sadly the mole was very mediocre nothing to write home about...the sampler platter is just not good...super super expensive for such bad food... service was lame...must be better places in Monterrey!

Only dish worthy is the black bean soup Everything ese is bland and comes cold. What really is bad was service The waiter brings coffee Does not even ask if we drink it black. Just assumes Also when I mention coffee is Luke warm he says “you should have said something “ Cold tortillas Food is not authentic. Microwave at best The deco of place is nice, unfortunately the service and cold food made our worse experience in Monterrey in food. Wish I had gotten waiters name which made a maybe ok experience, bad.

Yelp
Stopped into Madre Oaxaca while on a stop over in Monterrey. The ambiance was great and the service was excellent as well! We tried the red mole, which was amazing as well as a few other dishes. I had a fish dish that was a bit on the greasy side. While I would return for the red mole, I'm not certain that I would return just for that. We each had beverages and the server and bartender were happy to accommodate my dad's requests for a custom drink. The bathrooms and all amenities were clean and in good condition. Stop in if you're looking for Oaxacan foot in Monterrey but if you go, you MUST try the red mole!

Yelp
Loved the loteria decor and pretty plates. Enjoyed my mole sampler. Good service and cute neighborhood.

Yelp
Great place for authentic Mexican Oaxaca cuisine . Chamorro sin Madre was a favorite! The specialty drinks were on point and the Hongos Santa Sabina were exquisite. Great way to try the different moles was the Degustación de Moles

Yelp
Great experience when on siesta lunch on Monterrey. Fabulous food in a cool part of town

Yelp
I thought that my Spanish was pretty good, but apparently I never learned Oaxacan Cuisine vocabulary. I ended up guessing on the food that I ordered. I started with the mushroom and cilantro soup. It was good not great, I think they used store bought broth. I then got chicken with beef marinated in the miltomate sauce. It was delicious! IT came with tortillas, rice, and some veggies. The chicken and beef were grilled and very flavorful, and the sauce is really tasty, but be warned, they do not mess around with spice! I had a bubbly water, and I needed to get a soda to cope with the spice. Then I needed a second soda. And and ice cream. The food was delicious, albeit spicy, and I would happily come back and order the same dish.

Yelp
Potentially the best restaurant in Monterrey, and certainly a contender for the best Oxacan. The mole sampler, which included four moles dish and grilled with chicken was amazing as were the corn tortillas. The nNopales salad and guacamole appetizer are also must-haves. The restaurant opens at 1pm, and wWe had lunch around 3pm (on the later side), but there were still a number of people eating there. Also, it's only one block of the contemporary art museum so it's a good idea to pair the two.

Yelp
Amazing traditional Mexican food. The best mole I have ever had. Service is great and the decor is old traditional Mexican.
