Google
Nice place for a swim / to cool off. Be aware that sometimes lifeguards are on duty and they love their rules. The funny thing is, when they go off duty people just go back in and do whatever they want (as it should be). Great place to launch kayak or SUP. Only complaint is the beach is sort of dirt vs sand / stones, but there is some grass to be found, especially to the north. Also, eastern exposure, so not a ton of sun late in the day

Beautiful green area overlooking the lake. Peaceful environment, has toilets and a few BBQ areas for people to use. There are also two floating diving platforms. Great spot for a relaxing day.

A thickly forested steep trail filled with the groves of evergreens and ferns that I so associate with Washington State slopes down to a long stretch of Green lawn that leads to Lake washington, with Bellevue's skyline across the sea. As Bellevue continues to grow and its buildings climb toward the sky, this view becomes more impressive, but the glassy softly rippling water of Lake Washington is always delightful. When I came here, soft raindrops from the typical Seattle drizzle were splashing into the lake and creating these soft circular ripples. There is a great mossy tree with heavy arcing boughs under which I took shelter and watched the pattering rain. After crossing Seattle west to east on foot to arrive here from downtown, the gentle and scenic terrain of this park was a nice reward.

Google
View is nice .Unfortunally people working at this parking lot cut corners.Even though, they demand bigger budgets every year for so called improvements.Yesterday at 830 in the morning I come with my coffee to see the lake and load my soul with the energy you receive from such beautiful view. But couldn't,why because a lazie worker didn't remove one the posts at the entrance of this parking causing an accident with car.If I own a company and an employee doesn't do his or her job properly, that person should be fired.Elon Musk, please bring Doge to the parks and recreation department in Seattle

Beautiful vistas and nice park to walk along the water. Many people come to walk their dogs.

We watched Seafair 2025 from here on Friday. The beach is great. At noon they had on duty lifeguards. The swimming area is roped off and they have a deeper section roped off as well. The bathrooms at the Bathhouse building were closed until the lifeguards were on duty. Prior to noon the bathrooms at the snack bar north of the bathhouse were open. I believe the snack bar opened at 10 or 11am with hotdogs, drinks, and snacks. We arrived at 9am and setup a 10x10 canopy and portable chairs. The one star is for all the dog poop that was on the beach.

I really enjoy Madrona Park! Best place for Cars 🏎️ and Coffee ☕ in Seattle!

Google
This serene spot offers stunning views with free access all day. Swim in designated areas, enjoy the clean bathrooms, and snag a picnic table (arrive early!). Ideal for meals with a view—pack a lunch and soak in the beauty. Pure relaxation!

Yelp
Beautiful. Peaceful. Free to use and open all day. Swimming allowed in specific areas. Bathrooms accessible and picnic areas available first come first served. Bring your lunch or dinner and enjoy a beautiful scenic view!

Yelp
Pretty cool community park that overlooks Lake Washington. There's a large grass area where people gather playing music and doing picnics. There's also a paved walkway that is right up against the shoreline (no harsh inclines/declines so it's great for a light refreshing walk). I visited on a Saturday afternoon and there were a few open spots in the parking lot. Easy bus access as there's a bus stop at the corner of the park.

Yelp
Madrona Park is all about the views, or at least the portion along Lake Washington. There's a large green area park area according to Google Maps, but the more attractive portion is by the water. If you're exploring, map to Madrona Beach instead of Madrona Park. There are several small lots for parking. Otherwise, Lake WA Blvd and the side streets have sufficient parking too. Back to the views... Immediately across from the lake is Bellevue. Just beyond that are the Cascades. On a clear day, Mount Rainier is easy to spot to the south. 520 Floating Bridge is obvious, while I-90 is a peekaboo at a distance. So there's much to visually enjoy as one chooses to hang out, swim, picnic, or even fish. Madrona Beach is one of few beaches with lifeguard on duty during summer. Out on the water are two platforms. When we were there, humans occupied one while ducks occupied the other. The trail is fairly decent; some portions are more idyllic than others. Be sure to walk far enough south to walk onto the T-Dock. It extends plenty far out into the lake such that I feels like I'm surrounded by water while standing on ground. Very nice.

Yelp
My boyfriend took me here for my birthday, after walking from the nearby Kurt Cobain memorial bench. Bunnies and ducks, beautiful ocean views. It was absolutely breathtaking. I moved to Seattle 6/1/23 after having to flee from my home in the East Coast and didn't think I'd like it much here, but the beauty of Washington State never ceases to amaze me. This is one of the many wonders of this beautiful state

Yelp
Breathtaking views of Lake Washington and the Eastside. Madrona Park is a beach park, accessible by foot to the Madona and Leschi neighborhoods. We've been here a few times, and each time, I'm always mesmerized by the waterfront views, as is everyone else who visits Madrona Park. If you get here early enough, you can easily claim a spot in one of the parking lots. It's actually nice that they have parking lots for visitors here, steps away from the park. You can rent space for a BBQ, as they have an area for grilling that's covered, which is a popular amenity during the summertime. There's a dock where you can jump off of, plenty of green space for a picnic and lounging, and they also have bathrooms. For a nice trail that leads to the Madrona neighborhood, there's one very close to the park that leads you uphill to where the business centre of Madona is. But walking along the main drag is nice for those looking for a relaxing, long stroll. I always enjoy visiting Madrona Park on those clear, sunny days. Get here early for a parking space and to claim a spot on the grass area. And those views will remind you the Pacific Northwest is the best place to live in!

Yelp
You can have grass and beach here. They have lifeguards that are continuously keeping an eye ;) Parking can be a bit difficult but there are various spots over the curb or in other parking lots for near parks. It will be easy to get there through the path along the lake. You can even bring strollers. It is not that big and gets crowdy so be patient. Dogs are not aloud. Boo. But you can always walk around the lake along the trail aside the pathway. You can meet other runners or paddlers on your walk. You can also spend time on a bench watching the gorgeous view and enjoying the sun on the summer.

Yelp
Lovely park along southwest Seattle shore of Lake Washington. Home of Spectrum Dance studio. Swim beach, mature trees along shoreline, large lawn, barbeque areas, great views of and across the lake, and long walking paths ( beloved by dog walkers), restrooms and a great food concession stand on the south side of brick bldg w restrooms..but at north end of park ...so it's not visible from the long parking lot on south end of park ( blocked by swim Bathhouse/ Spectrum Dance). Check out their impressive selection of fancy hotdog creations ( including vegan, turkey, and gluten free options). .pictures to follow...ice creams, hot & cold beverages, Lotus plant based energy drinks, tasty organic lemonades, pastries , snacks, and more.

Yelp
The place was alright. You do get to see pretty city and ocean view but while walking on the side road there are lots of poop.

Yelp
Phenomenal views to wake up to in our RV: Lake Washington, the floating bridges, the marina, flowers, berries and bees hard at work . The park has plenty of parking, shade, walkway and access to facilities .

Yelp
A short walk from my pad. Great for a rowdy BBQ or a quiet evening walk. Breathtaking views of the lake + good parking.

Yelp
Simple park on the water. Restrooms and even a little pop-up ice cream/beverage shop.

Yelp
Came to this park for the first time early July for a party of 20-ish people. It was the perfect place for a summer BBQ as we could reserve a table (not sure how to do this though, because someone else in the group made the reservation). The parking lot was pretty big so parking was easy. Big plus! There's also a small drop off/pick up area for cars as well which is convenient to drop off food instead of carrying it from the parking lot (short walk away). There is a small beach area with sand and people were laying out there getting some sunshine. Kids were swimming in the water and there are two docks that seemed fun to play on. The views form the park were GORGEOUS and there are plenty of trees for those who want to sit in the shade. Definitely coming back for a swim/picnic!

Yelp
This park is cute! They have a decent spread of land right on Washington Lake. It overlooks Bellevue and Mt. Rainier on a clear day. We went for a walk from our rental house and found this place. The kids clearly like the waves splashing on them and Uncle Andy likes watching them! At the beach location they have diving platforms and lifeguards to watch over your kids. We arrived here too late to go swimming. They closed it at 6pm. We did notice a few people picnicking here and fishing too! I'm not sure they caught anything as we were a bit down from them. They even have bikers on the small road along the park. We will return for more hiking.

Yelp
Great view of Bellevue, east side and Mercer Island. Many picnic areas. Plenty of parking. Loading area for those getting ready for a picnic. Good place for a nice bike ride, run or walk. Good view of I-90 and 520 bridges.

Yelp
Madrona Park is a fun spot to go in Seattle! I like this beach a lot, especially during the summer! They have two docks out in the water that are great to swim between and one has a diving board! There is a mix of sand and rocks as the ground in the water, but not bad. The lifeguards can be a little persnickety and a pain, but I guess they are just trying to do their jobs! Haha I really enjoy swimming here. The water can be a little gross sometimes. I went the other day and the pollen is super heavy in Seattle right now, so it was covering the top of the water which made it more gross looking, but it really was just pollen and there is really no way for it not to do that! Also, the algae that settles on the bottom during the winter is now just getting disturbed by swimmers and more boats, so it's floating around and makes the water seem gross as well. However, both these things are natural so they don't really bug me, but can make it a little less aesthetically pleasing! The overall park is nice, there is plenty of grass to lay out on, there are bathrooms with showers, there are areas to BBQ. The views from this beach are also perfect! It sits between I90 and 520 and has a straight view of Rainer. Overall, I like it here a lot and it's a fav summer spot!

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a nice water view. Madrona Park is soooo beautiful on a nice, sunny day. A friend introduced me to this park about 3 years ago and I have been bringing people here ever since. The drive down the boulevard is gorgeous as well when it is sunny. There are several parking lots down the boulevard as well. There are a few parks, sandy spots and docks. It's nice to walk along one of the docks and be surrounded by water, you can even see little Bellevue in the distance. One perfect thing is that there is a certain parking lot that faces the water pretty closely, so you can find people eating lunch in their cars or just relaxing and enjoying the calming view. The only downside of the drive down WA Lake Boulevard is the bikers. The road gets pretty narrow and there are spots where you can't see if there is oncoming traffic so expect to find yourself stuck behind a couple bikers at some point.

Yelp
I was originally introduced to Madrona Park because I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with Xav's offspring while she was at work. (which was on site at spectrum dance at the time) I can't really say how sad I am that I did not frequent this side of the lake and this park more when my children were younger. The number one thing I can say is: Holy Future army corps of engineers of America! Has to be one of the BEST beach parks in the area for getting your sandcastle, moat, river, digging and shit on.. like, ever. Since that initial visit, I returned many times w/ my brood in tow to play, swim, hang out. We came by again to watch the Blue Angels. Some of my favorite pictures ever taken were taken in an outing with Don and the kids here a summer ago. This is one of my top favorite places with beach access in Seattle, now. Open green spaces, shaded spaces, swimming access, beautiful scenery and all around awesomeness. Parking is tough, and the ice cream trucks of the area are not dumbies and they come through in fierce numbers on a hot, sunny day.

Yelp
Cute little park along Lake Washington. The weather was perfect for a walk with my dog. I went on a beautiful sunny day, so I got some great views of Bellevue and Mt. Rainier. It isn't the best park I've been to, but I would definitely come back here in the summer for a picnic.
google avatar

Jody N.

Yelp
I went down to Madrona Park for the first time in years today to watch the Blue Angels and just kept saying, why in the world do I not come down here more often. From the little section of sandy beach to the trails leading up to the beautiful homes and views of Madrona, this park is a much overlooked Seattle summer spot. I will definitely be back with beach blanket in hand.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice little park for a stroll. Lots of people come to swim here but the water doesn't look clean. Can get pretty crowded here in the summer time. Couple of benches to sit on and decent parking lot and neighborhood parking available.

Yelp
Good area and nice view ! Madrona Park is the most beautiful place I ever been . I really like the beach/park. I like the area is good to relax and, have a sandwich (like a picnic date). Plus the cool thing about this place is the you could go for a run and also have a nice view .The parking is good, plus the area is very clean not much trash.

Yelp
Madrona is the first neighborhood I ever lived in, in Seattle! I found this park on a run down the hill one day and have been in love ever since. I am particularly fond of it's mornings and nights. It becomes a very thoughtful, contemplative place during those times! In the summer time, we like to jump off the dock, have a picnic, go for a swim and not so clean but not so dirty water. It can be pretty packed when the sun is out! Bathrooms nearby. They're disgusting, but available. Lifeguards are on duty in the summa time. and not that it matters to anyone but me, but this is where my husband and I got engaged. I'm sure a lot of other special memories happen here too.
google avatar

Sam H.

Yelp
It's alright. I wouldn't drive out of my way to come here. There is a view, but it's not unbeatable. I think cycling through the area would be fun. I might try that next week. On the down side, the parking is TOUGH and the facilities are limited. But walking through the neighborhood around there is quite nice. Also, the drive along Lake Washington through the arboretum is one of my favorites in Seattle.

Yelp
A good park/beach to hang out and chill in the sun. Plus it's only 5 minutes away from were we live. We went on a late Sunday afternoon, around 5PM. It was also father's day. There is a parking lot and we found parking really quickly. There were lots of parking spots available. I was assuming there would be a lot of people, but maybe they were there earlier in the day. There's a "beach" part with sand with direct access to the water and then a bigger grass area. There were quite a lot of people in the grass area, but still space available. We opted to sit by the sand since we wanted to go to the water. The water is cold, but you get used to it especially if there's sun. You can swim out to the docks, but we didn't and just stayed nearby. We will definitely return! Especially on hotter days!

Yelp
New to the Seattle area and this place is simply Beautiful!! Came here with some co-workers to watch the Blue Angels last month. A Nice hidden Gem in the city.

Yelp
A nice little park 9.5 acre park that has trails and ends at a beach on Lake Washington. Great place to run, ride your bikes and have a picnic. Spectacular views!
google avatar

Megan J.

Yelp
I sought this park out for the beach park and it's great, big, lots of space, seating, swimming docks for the summer, but then discovered it actually also encompasses some woodsy hills on the other side of Lake Washington Blvd that provides some awesome in-city trails to mix up runs (or bike rides, though I don't recommend hauling your bike up the trails, I did do it and it's strenuous but shortish).
google avatar

Ferdinand T.

Yelp
Really nice park for the local neighborhood. Seattle does a great job with community parks,
google avatar

Melyssa M.

Yelp
The beach area doesn't have much sand but it was okay. Not much parking, but it's a decent area. I like Seward Park or Mt Baker beach better. The swimming areas have more sand and have less boat traffic.

Yelp
Visited Madrona Park on yesterday afternoon and it was a nice, serene and good time! It was quiet with only a few people, couples, families, and solo walkers or people laying out in the sun and in the little beach enjoying the good weather that is soon to give way to rain in the next few days! We selected a spot that was shaded, which is easy to find because there are many shaded areas to sit at picnic tables or lay in the grass or sit on a bench. The picnic tables are not far from the water which is very nice, indeed! We chose a spot not far from the restroom which is pretty clean for a park restroom except they could bleach the sinks to get the scum off of them easily. That would make the bathrooms more tolerable. The toilets were clean and there was a large trash can; plant of toilet paper, and there was plenty of soap and water. Can't really ask for more than that! It was nice to have a few charcoal grills available for use but the small tin garbage cans near the grills do need to be replaced since the bottoms are rusted out. This defeats the purpose of cleaning up properly and being safe with the coals. This park is a great spot to sit, grill or just enjoy the scenery! To our surprise, there were a lot of bees that kept coming around our table and food and of course we dare not kill any, but, they were a nuisance! Then, to top it off, we were grilling a rib and moved away for about 5 minutes to go sit by the water; we were so disappointed to be tapped by a passerby who noticed that some crows/seagulls had actually attacked our grill and got hold of our ribs. They had a large one one the ground near the grill and we were speechless! Needless to say, we had to throw all of the ribs that remained on the grill into the garbage and I was not happy! Lesson, don't ever leave your food even on a smoking hot grill or on the table. I have never seen this done before but I guess it happens in Seattle, smh! Oh, there was some parking but it didn't look like but a few spots in the area where we were. We Ubered there so not sure how much parking is actually available in other areas of the park. There was a reservable little area/shelter that had a water fountain, outside wood burning stove, water for containers to be filled up, and, it was near the restroom and near where we were at a picnic table. That looks like a great spot with several shade trees, and picnic tables for a larger group, if needed. Overall, this is one of my favorite spots to visit and just enjoy! A good spot to see Mt. Rainer when it is out, too! And, there are many boats to see and even a little dock where people swim up to and jump off. There is some sand to play in too! A great spot!

Nina C.

Yelp
Madrona is like a peaceful break away from the city noise. The walk to the park is a nice stroll from 34th St. (the main drag) into the beautiful neighborhoods of Madrona and down a staircase. Here, you can find some quiet while laying on the grass or sitting at the picnic table and watching the water. It's a much less crowded park than Washington Park Arboretum. Madison Park Beach or Cal Anderson. There's less to do than those parks but when you just want a nice, quiet, family-friendly park, this is probably a better choice.

MM R.

Yelp
Five stars to the supportive Madrona neighborhood families, businesses and friends who got this playfield and playground whipped into shape. It is the perfect mix of green field space, play area for all aged children, basektball court, tennis court, etc. Always full of visitors so stop by next time you're in the hood.
