After a couple of visits, it’s safe to say Maeve Wine Bar is one of the best in Brisbane! The wine selection is exceptional and perfectly paired with equally delicious food — whether you’re here for nibbles and a glass or a full dining experience, you’ll leave completely satisfied. The cured meats and beef tartare were a perfect match with our wine, and the black Angus striploin was beautifully cooked and full of flavour. A must-visit for any wine and food lover!

The food is so so good. We had some delicious share plates including tuna tartare, stuffed zuchini blossoms and burrata. All of it was beautifully presented and so tasty. I will be dreaming of this meal. The service was fantastic. Friendly and welcoming with attention to detail that made the meal more than just the great food.

Had dinner on Saturday night and wow what an incredible experience. Restaurant was pretty full when we went (around 6pm) so definetly reccomend booking for the weekend. Regardless the staff were quick, but attentive and caring throughout the whole dinner. The wine list was quite extensive but our server gave us some delicious reccomendations in line with our taste :) Speaking of delicious we definely reccomend the thick pork belly bacon with smoked maple, duck liver parfait, and the black Angus steak, yum! Didn't have enough room for a sweet treat to finish, but with how good everything else was we'll definetly be back! Maybe on a weekday so we don't have to run off for a show ;)

My husband and I went there for dinner last night and had a wonderful, flavorful experience! The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent, especially the focaccia and the pork, which were outstanding. That said, a few dishes were a bit too spicy and heavily seasoned for our taste, which masked the flavor of the raw fish (like the tuna carpaccio and scallops), though that might just be our Italian palate. Lastly, the air conditioning was quite strong for us, and we were freezing at some point, though it didn’t seem to bother anyone else, perhaps just a European thing! Overall, we definitely recommend this restaurant.

What a gem of a find! We needed a location to have a meal and enjoy some wine before going to QPAC, and I stumbled across this place after doing a search for places nearby. The wait staff are absolute standouts—attentive, friendly, and always immediately there when you needed them. The food? Incredible. We had a variety of small plates and everything was amazing. The wine selection is a real treat too—something for everyone. The ambience ties it all together, striking that perfect balance between stylish and cozy.

TLDR: great for a quick wine and a cheese board before a show, however, much better options in the neighbourhood. We've been her twice and refrained from reviewing until we gave them a second chance. We eat out alot so feel we are in a good position to provide a thorough review. The pro's: The heritage building and decor is fantastic. The cheese plate was great. The Cons: The service was a let down, the staff were unattentive, didnt check in. Asked about recommendations for wines, the waitress had zero idea and told us to just look at the menu, you dont need to know everything but atleast have a few suggestions especially for a wine bar. I had to ask for the manager. Furthermore, wine selection didnt demonstrate a comphrensive list, no chablis was very suprising, again, for a wine bar. The steak and frites was incredibly average, we have bought this on two occasions with the same result. Not sure if its the cut, preperation or they way they cook it but all three felt off. I hope the venue can take this on board, as it could be great but unfortuntarly is currently missing the mark.

We started with the oysters and tartare…that was enough of a lead into the exquisite risotto and barramundi. More than the food, however, was the service by the one and only Zoe. A beautiful Kiwi accent guided us through the food and drinks menu to a pinnacle of service that has decided our opinion of the venue: Whoever decided to bring Zoe on board has done this venue a service beyond measure. We commend Zoe’s service and her personality. Well done Maeve for bringing such a human into Brisbane’s gorgeous experience of your venue. Gabrielle and Ross
