We visited the museum on a rainy day in Riva del Garda and discovered a hidden gem! It’s a small museum showcasing artifacts from the history of the Riva del Garda area, including prehistoric remains of Homo sapiens from the Lake Ledro region. There’s a rooftop with a lovely view, but my favorite part was the activity room for kids, filled with fun and educational toys and activities. It’s a really enjoyable and welcoming place for families. Entry is free with the Trentino card.

The museum is in a beautiful castle in the center of Riva. When I visited they had a very interesting photo exhibition on the ground floor, showing Riva as it was in the old days. Another floor had paintings and the 3rd floor had archeological findings. There also seems to be concerts in the courtyard during summer season. In all a very nice museum to visit.

Do you have the tourist pass? Than you get free entrance and free public transport (that is an adventure as their capacity is way to less, weekend one bus in 2 hours there for cramped as hell) anyways, once you made it this museum is a very worth visit. The archeology section can be skipped, very similar too so many museum's, clay, mud bronze, wood structures etc (displayed wel). (This level which saves you about ~ 30 minutes) the ww1 section (top) is only in italian however intresting as much has happend in the area (walk through time ~ 20min) they have qr codes but ... another app to install. The staff is very friendly and helps you to get through the museum and are willing to explain the real stuff like: ships on garda lake, industrial heritage (like the hydro- electro station) ww1 and special locations to visit. The tower however is worth every single cent!

Worth visiting! The museum has 3 floors. First one is picture gallery, second archeological, third shows up different periods of Riva del Garda. The dogs are allowed BUT in a bag/backpack only. On the last floor there is a beautiful panoramic platform
