Danish Design Heaven: The ground floor is perfect for finding genuine Danish goods like unique shoes, purses, and jewelry. Head up to the homeware section for classic brands like Royal Copenhagen and Georg Jensen. Gourmet Food Hall: Don't miss the amazing food market in the basement! It offers everything from fresh local produce and bakery items to delicious pre-made smørrebrød at reasonable prices. A Relaxing Break: When you need a break, there are cafes on the top floor. The staff are friendly and helpful, and tourists with non-Danish IDs can often get a tax-free benefit—a fantastic bonus! It might be busy, but the stunning architecture and wide selection of high-quality items make it well worth a visit!

The service was of a high standard, and the food was exceptional. Each floor was well designed with Everything you need. Samples for everyone, and I felt very welcome. The food market also offers fresh food and a variety of options for vegetarians. We will come back.

Last-minute shopping before flying off! Coming from tropical Southeast Asia, I found Magasin du Nord an absolutely fascinating experience. There’s a wide variety of stunning, evocative, high-experiential items — everything seems to carry the tiniest artistic texture, color, or shape, creating a sense of wonder that, to me, feels like being in an elite-level department store. I noticed a distinctly Nordic crispness in the designs, and much of the merchandise appears both functional and aesthetically pleasing — a hallmark of Scandinavian style. Some prices lean toward the upper end, though there are also mid-range and discounted options. If you’re a foreign tourist, you may be eligible for an additional 10% tax-free benefit — a nice touch. We ended up on the top floor at Hallernes Smørrebrød, the in-house café and smørrebrød counter, where I enjoyed a “Laksesalat smørrebrød” (salmon salad open-faced sandwich on rye bread). It offered a broad, briny capture of ocean flavor — perhaps a little strong for my tropical palate. To me, it wasn’t quite an orchestra of blended tastes; more like Mozart, Beethoven, and Strauss each playing solo, without Chopin’s softer feel. Still, this “mall” (if you can even call it that — it’s really more of a refined Nordic department store) is absolutely a place to experience in Copenhagen. Definitely come.

The selection is impressive: you’ll find staples like organic carrots, peppers, and cucumbers alongside more unique finds such as purple cauliflower and baby fennel.

I have been a Magasin customer for many, many years. I do like their selection, their offers, and it is convenient that they have a website where you can also shop. What makes me give a 2-3 star rating is the tendency of having a very poor customer experience. I ocassionally meet some very friendly and helpful employees, and thank you for that. But a lot of the time, I meet employees who seem annoyed and unfriendly. In the end, this experience is what will impact my impression and not the items I buy. It makes such a difference when you experience good or excellent customer service. If I was in the management, I would really focus on ensuring that this improves and the staff is trained.
