lots of goose shit, gooses are everywhere :) still enjoying because it is easy to park and close to all my friends. also, there is noise coming from charles side which i didn’t understand yet :) it sounds like a big engine is running :) update: I found out that noise is coming from a bridge construction just across the charles river.

This space is unique if nothing else. Sandwiched between the Charles and Memorial, the park offers a boat launch, a baseball diamond, an open field, an outdoor gym, and a pool. Great views of the surrounding Harvard landmarks and the river. Parking is decent and I've never had trouble getting a spot, but do bear in mind that there are schedules games and practices here. Kids soccer, baseball, and quidditch. Yes, you read that correctly. It's now a real competitive sport - I've seen it here with my own eyes... look it up. Pro tip: restrooms are available in some kind of a museum building, but can be a very far walk (and hard to find), so plan accordingly.

A wonderful place which is right next to the water. Nice place to walk, cycle and picnic with friends right across the Charles River. Can see lot of goose during evening time! Just relax and enjoy sunset in spring, summer and fall season!

This park has a number of small nature refuge zones where you can observe wildlife, both large and small. I have seen hawks, swans, woodpeckers, and mockingbirds as well as numerous insects. I only wish the park management were not so aggressive in mowing down the vegetation that comprises these natural areas. Instead, they should address the lingering problem of the unsightly litter scattered around the park.

Good spot with an outdoor fitness park. There are pull up bars, dips, benches for sit ups, and all the other equipment you will find at an outdoor fitness parks. This place also has a nice view along the Charles, a softball field, and plenty of grass to do sprints, yoga, or any other outdoor fitness activities. If you are running along the Charles River this is a good spot to stop and get some reps in.

day11 (22JUL2024) sanctuary23: mostly lawns along river, picnic tables and adirondack chairs in shade under trees with a nice view and breeze. riverbank and wet areas more naturalized plant communities (tho plenty of invasives). co-managed by MAS with DCR, people seemed to be enjoying the swimming pool.
