Heaven on earth. Most beautiful place ever. So clean. Great parking. Great food. So relaxing. You can rent just about any water activity. Paddle boarding, chairs, snorkeling. Seen so many turtles, stingray, so many colorful fish and sharks. Seriously heaven on earth. With sand sent from a higher power for sure.

Google
Great clean beach with lots of picnic tables in the shade, restrooms with showers and changing stalls. We snorkeled, visibility was not the best but still - sea turtles, fish and jellyfish! Exciting.

James Crider

Google
Costs around 30 dollars for a group of 4 to get in, and there's sewage runoff that goes directly into the area you swim (you can actually watch the brown water dispense into the clearer water) on the other hand, when there's not actual human feces being dispensed into the water the beach is very clear and nice. The food is also good.

Google
This was a beautiful beach in St Thomas. While it gets super busy with the cruise ship visitors, it’s big enough to be away from them. We also arrived early (10am) so we easily found parking and a spot with some shade. We loved walking and snorkeling along the edge of the hills. I recommend bringing your own food, beverages, and chairs if you are on a budget.

Google
Beautiful and very long beach. Found lots of shells in the water near shore. Picnic tables, bathrooms, showers, beach chairs, food, rentals. Good for families. Paid access ($30 for a car and 4 adults). It was rainy when we went so keep that in mind with the photos.

Google
Beautiful spot - visited while on a cruise - can be busy but is long enough that you can walk down to a quiet spot too. Had great showers and restrooms and bar. Fantastic clear waters

Alex

Google
Great beach for those who want anything from a bar, privacy, convenience, seclusion, rental gear, turtles and event space. I prefer it on days when there are no cruise ships in. I’ve also seen bioluminescence here at night.

Google
This was one of our favorite beaches, get there early and if you can, go when no cruise ships are inbound. They taxi them in by the bus load and it gets crowded. It is definitely worth a visit. It has lots of amenities like bathrooms, showers, and food on site. Low cost to get in and you can rent things like chairs while you're there.

Yelp
This is such a beautiful beach! It's worth visiting. When we stopped by here on our excursion, there was not that many people. The shower water is salty so don't rinse your face in it. There's a small foot shower area outside the female showers. We will definitely visit again!

Yelp
Gorgeous soft sand beach on the north side of the island of St Thomas, US Virgin Islands. We took a shuttle from the cruise port costing $15 one-way per person. It now costs $7 for non-locals for entry ($2 if local). Since it's a paid beach, most people were tourists coming from the boats, all various ages. The beach runs from Southwest to Northeast at the end of Magens Bay, and the waves are very gentle throughout. It is not particularly wide or deep, so it's an easy walk to get from the parking lot to the water's edge. We got dropped off at the NE end and I took a long beach walk to the other end (taking about 25 minutes). The beach is kept very clean, has good permanent facilities, and saw plenty of lifeguard stations, most of them being manned. They rent chairs and umbrellas from the building located in the middle, which also houses a beach restaurant. I can see how the beach can get really crowded, with the great sand, warm water, and good facilities.

Yelp
Beautiful beach with bright blue water, luscious greenery surrounding, but too many people. The best time to come is off-season when there are no cruise ships around. I love this place just a short drive across the island.

Yelp
We came here on a cruise in feb 2024. Came back to stay on the bay in an Airbnb for the week. It's gorgeous. Definitely busy when lots of cruises come in but if you can catch it on a not busy day it is magical. Calm. Great snorkeling unless rough. Beautiful color and nice white sand.
google avatar

Nathan H.

Yelp
We were staying up the road at Villalee. So it was a short drive for us. The beach is very clean and there was plenty of parking available. The beach sand is very white and the water is so blue. There are picnic tables close to the beach so try to get one of them and setup there to avoid the sun if wanted. There is also a beach bar in the middle of the beach with both drinks and food available. It cost 8 dollars per adult to enter the beach with parking. The marine life was pretty sparse, after returning home I realized there was a reef that we didn't see all the way down the beach to the left. The bathrooms for gentleman had me gagging so I would avoid them is possible.

Yelp
Makes perfect sense if you're coming in on a cruise ship for the day. The perfect water and soft sand beach is a delight. If you're staying at one of the beautiful resorts in the area, it makes less sense. The snorkeling on the day of our visit was non-existent because of a squall that moved through the bay the day before. Visibility was less than two feet. But usually I'm sure it is beautiful and clear. We have awesome snorkeling at our resort and don't see the upside of making this a trip with the $7 park fee per adult and the $50 taxi ride from the resort. If, however, you are on a ship, by all means come and enjoy the splendor that is Magens Bay!
google avatar

Kristin G.

Yelp
Beautiful stunning beach. Warm clear blue water and great snorkeling. It was busy but didn't feel crowded. Blissfully happy to have been at this gorgeous piece of heaven
google avatar

Joshua C.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous. A must see if you're in At. Thomas. Definitely should take pictures from afar to get the full view but also enjoy the water.
google avatar

Xenia M.

Yelp
Magens Bay is a beautiful beach, but it can get very crowded which makes for a much less relaxing experience. I recommend coming early before the cruise ship crowds arrive and to also secure a good parking spot if you're driving. There is a small entrance and parking fee. I believe it was $7 for entry and $2 for parking.

Yelp
For my 1200th Review on Yelp, I wanted to skip well forward on the reviews of my family vacation to Miami and then seven day cruise to Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Saint Thomas on the Carnival Celebration. I will review beautiful Magen's Bay in Saint Thomas. I am doing this because 1) I am unable to review most of my trip to DR because Yelp does not support reviews in that country and 2) Magen's Bay took my breathe way. I really wanted this trip to be special. My family and I had not been on vacation prior since 2019. My mother had just beat cancer, and I wanted her to have a good time. We both thoroughly enjoyed Magens Bay. We rented and relaxed on some beach chairs at the Magen's Bay Beach Bar, Cafe and Boutique. We also had a few drinks from there as well, which I will review at a later time. The water in Magens Bay, and really the rest of Saint Thomas is this beautiful cerulean color, the water is warm, no waves and the green mountain in the backdrop... like i said absolutely breathtaking! We spent a few hours on this beach, before we had to go back to the boat with our tour group. It certainly was not enough time! As i said we rented chairs at Magen's Bay Beach Bar, Cafe and Boutique. The chairs are not cheap at about $30. Still, you get a nice comfy chair to sit at, and you can order drinks while at the beach from the bar. Only those who rent the chair can be at this part of the beach. Further down Magen's Bay, you can enjoy the beach if you do not want to pay the $30. That part of the beach is also very nice and has a public restroom area if you need to use it. I think it was here that I finally decided that Saint Thomas may be the place I want to retire to. The people are friendly, the island is paradise. If you are thinking about a vacation, you should spend some time on this idyllic island! While your there, spend a few hours enjoying Magens Bay!

Yelp
This beach is fantastic. It does cost to enter but the day we went, we were able to find parking easily and the beach was not crowded. We did make sure to go on a day when there were no cruise ships in town. I don't usually get in the water at beaches, but made an exception. The water was crystal clear, warm and very relaxing. Also the bar serves and awesome painkiller. We rented 2 chairs and an umbrella and relaxed until they were taken and put away. We wanted to see the sunset here because we were told it was a great place to see it. We sat at the picnic style tables that are available until it was time for the sunset. We were not disappointed. We were treated to a perfectly gorgeous sunset!

Yelp
Came here for a couple of hours while in a cruise trip. The taxis from Havensight Port was about 15-20 minutes. The taxis cost $12 per person and entrance to the beach is $7 per person, so a total of $19. There are Plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent. The price is $20 for combined umbrella and lounge chair. These are individual chairs with their own shade and that is $25-30. The beach is gorgeous! The sand is white and soft. There water is crystal green/aquamarine. There is plenty of space. The beach also has a place to buy food ( didn't purchase any because I was planning on eating in Downtown Charlotte Amelie). There is also drinks for purchase. Bathrooms and showers are also available. There are plenty of available taxis for the return as well. The beach is definitely for those who want to lounge and enjoy a relaxing day. There wasn't as much snorkeling opportunities.

Yelp
St. Thomas, V.I. was one of the ports on the itinerary for my recent cruise with Carnival Cruise Lines. I decided to visit Magens Bay as part of a shore excursion that I purchased. Magens Bay was simply amazing and beautiful! The water was incredible. The scenic background was perfect. I enjoyed my visit to Magens Bay and look forward to visiting again.

Yelp
TERRIBLE TAXI SERVICE Manager yelled at us and complained to us to other customers. Waited over 10 mins in the car that was supposed to "barely leave" they give you no information at ALL and then overcharge you. Miss matched prices for whoever. Definitely yelled at us multiple times.
google avatar

Yelp
To me, this is the best beach on the island!! That's why my husband and I visited three times. You do need to know that there is a cost to enter. We were surprised that most of the beaches do charge an entrance fee. For non-locals, it is $5 a person plus $2 to park. We found out later that you can get a month pass for $30. Well we will know for next time. Luckily, we were always able to find a parking place, but every time, it was at the furthest parking lot. Check the cruise schedule before you go. We went two times and it was very pleasant. We were able to find a picnic table, and there weren't lines at the snack bar or the bar. However, we did go one day when a lot of cruise ships had docked, and it was incredibly crowded with about 1,500 people. We made the most of it by sharing a table at the pavilion. Then, we later shared a table at the snack bar with a nice couple from Chicago. That day, the lines to get food and drinks were really long. What I liked the most about Magen's Bay is that the ocean current was not as strong as it was at Lindquest and Sapphire Beach. At the other beaches, not being a strong swimmer, I didn't feel comfortable in the water. Another thing that was nice at Magen's Bay was all the wildlife. We saw several large turtles stick their head out of the water, which was super cool. There were also several frigates flying in the sky, pelicans, and other sea birds. We even saw a pelican nesting in a tree. Very interesting. Luckily, all the days we visited the weather was perfect!! Sunny and in the 80s. Also, we were glad that the water temperatures were not bad even in December.

Yelp
The views at this beach are out of this world! Magens Bay Beach is a true paradise in every sense of the word. With crystal clear, clean water, a beach bar with great drinks and a tiny gift shop, this beach is not to be missed if you're visiting St. Thomas! You can take a 20 min cab ride from the cruise terminal. Look for the open-air taxis! So much fun!

Yelp
This beach was a stop during our excursion & it was so nice. Chair rentals was $5 dollars which is worth it since that sun is crazy! Nice beach, peaceful we enjoyed our time here.

Yelp
Like Patrick in Schitt's Creek sings: "You are simply the best. Better than all the rest!" This is tropical paradise. Hype is true in this case. One of the world best beaches. $5 entrance is worth it. Go on non cruises days early in the morning for the best experience. Check Vinow.com for the cruise schedule. There are several restrooms but use the one on the left when you enter the beach. It's the main and bigger rest room and is also the cleanest. There are rinsing areas and changing areas. Most reviews in various websites said no lockers here. But I did find them. Look at the pictures attached. It's right next to the water station inside the restaurant. Also available are rentals for various beach toys (snorkels, fins, chairs, umbrellas etc). You can also rent kayaks. Details and pricing available in the pics. The Johnny cakes here are $4. They were nice and are available during breakfast hours. Go to the far right for the best snorkeling experience. I saw many big fish in their. Couldn't spot any turtles though. Water is super clear and sand is soft. AAA Taxis are available until 6pm. Check their numbers in the pics I attached. And don't forget to like . Go to the left side of the park and there are some really nice walking/hiking trails. Don't miss them. Will provide much needed shade. Can help as a break during an intense beach day.

Michael D.

Yelp
$15 per person to transport from Royal Caribbean port but had to wait till they had at least 10 on the transport so a short wait. Beach was only $7 pp to enter. Beautiful sand beach and great water quality. Actually had a couple of sea turtles in the swim area eating some of the grass slightly out. There is a restaurant with food and drink available. Overall great time.
google avatar

Meredith G.

Yelp
It's a perfectly lovely beach however, the staff is incredibly rude! Particularly the chair, rental lady named Cherise. I wouldn't come back, nor recommend it to any of my friends and family, just based on the lack of hospitality by the employees.
google avatar

Jas S.

Yelp
Magens bay requires an entrance of $5 for nonresidents. This beach is more of a party scene with music and friendly people. Also has very calm waters and soft sand. Not so great for snorkeling but we did see a turtle nearby the buoy. There is also a restaurant and bar at this beach. A local shop next to the bar sells souvenirs, umbrellas, chairs for a reasonable price. We made a few friends with the others that were visiting. Overall great crowd with friendly people.

Yelp
Nice beach. Lots of places to set up. If you get there early enough, you may even get lucky to find a picnic table under a tree. We went on a day without a cruise ship in town, so I don't know how busy it will be cruise ship tourists. The beach got busier the later it got. We arrived at 11am and found parking and a good spot easily. The beach is clean. The water is clear. The entrance fee is $5 for adults plus $2 for parking. If you're a veteran, you get free parking. They have clean restrooms and showers available. There's a small restaurant and a bar. They do take cards if you spend more than $15. Beer is about $5.50 and frozen cocktails $10. They do have a waitress that walks up and down the beach.
google avatar

Alena B.

Yelp
The water is super clear here!!! It rained a bit but only when we were about to leave. The sand is super soft like mashed potatoes and it was the perfect mix of shade and sun. The water was cold because it was overcast but lovely beach. Not busy at all and we went on a Sunday.
google avatar

Jane D.

Yelp
This place looks like true paradise with all picnic tables under luscious trees, and the clear aquamarine water a few steps away. The taxi charged $12 per person to take us from the cruise ship to this beach, and the same going back. The beach charges $5 per person, but totally worth it! The water is so calm, clean and clear, you could see the fishes swimming with you. Also, you could go pretty deep and the water is still only at your waist. Great place to spend a few idyllic hours under the sun in the Caribbean.
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
We loved Magens Bay but so do many other people. We paid $5 per person to enter + $2 to park a car. I would recommend getting there early to get a spot, as this beach is popular especially mid day. The views are gorgeous, the sand is soft and pristine, and the water is clear as can be. There is some sea grass out a bit farther in the water where you can snorkel to and see some turtles if you're lucky! There is a beach bar and restroom amenities which is nice, but not mandatory for me -- I just love the beach!

Yelp
Concise Review Such a beautiful beach, great trail, great beach food... unsure good for snorkeling ----- Longer Review When you look for things to do in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, one of the first attractions on most any list is Magen's Bay, rightly touted as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world... beautiful when overlooking it from atop the hillsides surrounding it... beautiful when you're right there, standing on the sand. We visited St. Thomas, USVI, for the first time in 2021, and had a great time. We saw Magen's Bay from the hillside, from Blackbeard's Seat twice before visiting in person. The view is clearly beautiful. Earlier in our trip, as we were thinking of things to do, we considered snorkeling Magen's Bay... the hotel and websites and magazines didn't recommend it. So, we left the snorkeling gear at home and hiked instead. ----- Magen's Bay - The View from Above, at Drake's Seat We decided to hike the Magen's Bay Beach Trail... from the hillside down to the beach (and not back up). Our driver, John Donovan, was a great guide, taking us to enjoy the views of the beautiful light blue Magen's Bay waters from Drake's Seat, and capturing family photos for us, with the bay in the background... then dropping us off at the trail head. Knowing that we wanted to enjoy the hike, John planned ahead and agreed to meet us at the bottom of the trail an hour or so later. As we hiked, rain fell, getting us decently wet, and cooling us off... and extending the hike time for some of us... and John was thankfully waiting at the beach when we arrived. ----- Magen's Bay Beach Trail The Magen's Bay Beach Trail has a trailhead starting on the hillside above the bay, at about 460 feet in elevation, and ending at the beach (yes you can also walk back up the trail). Magen's Bay is U-shaped and the trail head starts roughly in the middle of the "bottom" of the bay / the bottom of the U. If you could see the bay from the Trailhead, you would see that you were in a position, looking straight ahead, to look out the bay directly out to the open ocean. The trailhead does not appear to have any parking lot at it whatsoever, so we're thankful John Donovan was driving us to and from the hike... there was not much traffic that day so it was easy and safe to park along the shoulder and unload and get walking down the trail. Note: you can't really see the water from the trailhead nor from most spots on the trail, which is OK. There is a lookout point, that we didn't happened to see on our way down but the other couple / the other Mom & Dad did see. We enjoyed a good afternoon hike. The kids and the other couple / other Mom & Dad made better time than us getting down to the beach... the kids got to the bottom right as the rain fell, staying mostly dry under the pavillion... my wonderful wide and I took a bit longer. While the rain made quite a bit of mud and some seriously long puddles at the bottom, the rain also cooled the temperatures, so it was good to have gotten rained on. The Trail is well marked, lined by a variety of trees and many many ferns; the ferns are mostly full-circles, looking almost like a wall clock made out of a pointy green plant - nice. The trail is mostly dirt, with an expected number of tree roots crossing it. There are a handful of places where the trail raises a few feet uphill before continuing its downward pace. My wonderful wife and I agree that this trail, which is listed as "easy" is more "moderate." There are places on the trail where they have ropes between the trees, to provide a hand rail of sorts. On a dry day they may not be needed, but on this rainy day they were definitely needed to help get past the slippery spots... they were valuable as we didn't slip nor fall the whole ways down. Thank you to the teams who helped string the ropes! Thank you to all who created and maintain this trail... this was a fun hike! ----- Magen Magen's Bay Beach - Restooms, Snack Bar and Pavillions, and the sand and the water Once to the bottom of the trail, you arrive at the beach. We walked the road a short distance to catch up with everyone else at Pavillion 2, cleaning up at the restroom first. The salad and pizza and other snacks from the snack bar were GOOD - far better than we had expected; friendly staff, too. There is a full bar there that also has the water and sodas and Gatorade's we needed after the hike. John Donovan picked us up there in the parking lot and we made our way back to the hotel enjoying the views around Magen's Bay. ----- If you're going to St. Thomas, we definitely recommend Magen's Bay Beach Trail and time on the beach. ----- ----- -----

Yelp
Magens Bay is probably one of the most beautiful places in the world. It's still a bit primitive and rustic at the locals end and has a bit more amenities down by the taxi/tourist side. If you're driving yourself you'll pay a small fee, have cash. Ask to go to the left and drive all the way down till you see green picnic tables and the public restrooms. Set up for the day here. Definitely walk the length of the beach to see the flora and fauna growing off the rocks. Watch the pelicans swoop down for their lunch. On the other end of the beach there is a bar and you can rent chairs, but it's a bit busier down there on cruise days. An open air taxi/truck back in forth is about $20 each way for 2. A must see!
google avatar

Ry M.

Yelp
Entrance fee - Cash only. My favorite beach on St Thomas!!! Check the cruise ship website to see when ships are in port. I would highly recommend going when no ships are on the island as this is a highly popular cruise excursion.

Joe S.

Yelp
Parked where we told to park by the attendant. Came out to our car having a boot and a no parking sign moved to face our parking lot. Charged us 125$ to take off the boot. What a scam. They are not even law enforcement or park rangers. Such a beautiful place ruined by theives. Beware

Yelp
We booked this beach as an excursion through Princess Cruise. What a great beach. This is a simple, beautiful beach with amazing water and views of a lifetime. They do have onsite facilities like restrooms, showers and lockers which were all clean and maintained. Also a pretty good selection of food which we tried. The fried shrimp and burgers were all more than we expected from a beach bar honestly. Were a bit snobby when it comes to food but surprisingly they did a pretty darn good job at good quality bar food. The gift shop was nice and cool, prices were very reasonable as well. The only negative I have but won't take a star away was for the automatic 15% gratuity they charge on the food and drinks. After I ordered my food and drink nobody served or waited on our table. It's all self serve so I'm confused why even add gratuity and simply include it in the price of your food. At any rate this earned 5 stars based on the well kept facilities, chairs and umbrellas, and park area.
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
Our place was right next to this beach, so not only was it convenient, but it was also gorgeous! There is plenty of sand and clear water to snorkel and suntan. There's also a food stand, bar, and restrooms to use while you spend the day there.
google avatar

J H.

Yelp
Everyone at the hotels and restaurants hyped this beach up so much that I was disappointed when we got here. It was just like every other beach I've been to. It was nothing special. It was a long drive. Many other beaches on the island were so much better. They served good drinks. It was a pretty beach but nothing like the beaches of St. John. The swimming was nice. No coral. There was very little to no fish or animals.
google avatar

Tianna D.

Yelp
We came here on a Tuesday afternoon. It's $5 per non-local and $2 for parking. Parking was easy to find and so were tables to rest our stuff. We nestled right in the middle of the beach a bit down to the left from the bathrooms. More of the crowd was on the right side of the beach because of the restaurant/ bar/ bathrooms. With a beach this long we had to go on a walk end to end. The water was so calm and I was in awe how clear and aqua the water is despite how volcanic the sand is. Different parts of the beach there were small schools of fish (like 8" long) close to the shore chilling out. And further out you could see sea turtle heads popping up for air. We didn't snorkel at this beach since we did most of our snorkelling the day before on St. John. It was entertaining to see the pelicans and seagulls hunting for fish on our walk. They were mainly on the right side of the restaurant but out of the way of people swimming. This beach actually reminded me of Negril Beach in Jamaica. The convenience of the amenities, calm water, fishies nibbling on my feet (my husband is not fond of this). Only difference is there's no water sports (jet skii, glass bottom boats etc) which made it even more peaceful to be in the water. I heard this beach can get crowded once the cruise ships port but it was pretty empty the day after Easter Monday.

Yelp
Wow. I guess I'm going to ruin the party and be a downer, but I'm not sure why everyone was so enthralled with Magens Bay Beach. For me....it was a letdown. I primarily came to St. Thomas to actually head across to Virgin Islands National Park, St. John and experience the beaches over there. And I must say....the colorful blue/green waters in St. John absolutely outshined any beaches located here in St. Thomas including this Magens Bay Beach (which I thought was one of the most popular). Since I did have 1 day to explore around St. Thomas...after spending some worthwhile time at Mountain Top (which I highly recommend stopping at for the views there), it was late afternoon and I decided before heading out to dinner, why not stop here at Magens Bay Beach for a late afternoon swim. I visited on a Saturday around 4pm at the end of February. The beach was practically empty. Yet, I still paid $5 to enter plus $2 more for my automobile. I parked right away and headed over to the sand and water. Overall, Magens Bay was just okay. The sand was fine. It wasn't white or distinctive looking. And the water didn't really stand out or illustrate any colors. Maybe my expectations were too high from all the photos I viewed online, but the ambiance was average at best. I went for a swim for a short time and then sat on the beach relaxing. In all, I spent 2 hours hanging out. The following 2 days I was in St. John and Virgin Islands National Park. I'll just say....the waters at Hawksnest, Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay and Maho Bay Beaches were terrific!!! They featured some of the most awes inspiring and colorful spots I have ever witnessed! And...driving from above North Shore Road and peering down among the surroundings of those iconic beaches was memorable. A few times I had to pull my car over to the side of the road and soak up the glorious scenery. Now that's what I was expecting. Those beaches featured pure turquoise blue waters that disseminated right out of some photography book. When I reflect on my time in the Virgin Islands....all I can say is skip this Magens Bay Beach. It's not worthwhile. Save yourself for the beaches in St. John. Still, there was plenty to see and do in St. Thomas that made my visit worthwhile. A couple of memorable attractions I'd recommend are.... Mountain Top, Skyride to Paradise Point, Charlotte Amalie Overlook, Drake's Seat Overlook, and even spending some time walking around the historic downtown shopping district.

Oh we had soooooo much fun here! Some of the best fun our whole trip. It's a must to snorkel so many things to see Under the water. Its$10 to snorkel with a $20 deposit. I recommend a floating device of some sort while you Snorkel if you're a newbie like us. The beach is a public beach so it's $5 but it's worth it. They have a bartender walking around taking drink orders tons of activities and good times.

Yelp
The most beautiful beach on St. Thomas Island. All sand, lots of parking plenty of room for all tourists to spread out. The water and the views are view beautiful! We found the snorkeling to be, just OK. We got down by the sides where the rocks are, and had better luck. If you're truly looking for snorkeling - secret Harbor Beach and, Coki Beach has much better snorkeling.

Yelp
Lovely beach however bring cash just in case the car reader isn't working. Beach has alot of places for you to choose from to sit down and relax, shaded and unshaded. I would definitely recommend taking a stroll down the beach. The beach bar has food and drink option. Cost for entry is $5 per person plus vehicle charge. Definitely visit Magens Bay.

Yelp
One of the best places I have been! It's great! It's clean, has crystal clear water, fish for snorkeling, very calm waters for all to enjoy! Also, very nice walking around available in the park and nature to enjoy. There is an entry free for adults $5 and children 12 and under is free! They have onsite food and bar! We enjoyed a few drinks, pricing wasn't above the norm. One tip, this is a place that the cruise ship patrons come to visit, depending on the number of ships in port it can become very crowded from 12 to 4ish. Cabs coming out of the area are easy during the day.

Yelp
Do not miss this stunning beach. Absolutely breathtaking + the travel there is gorgeous. A few tips: -There's a $5 entry fee -There are umbrella/chairs/gear rentals -Taxis stop coming to the beach at sunset - so plan ahead! -Once you pay you cannot exit and come back, so come prepared, and stop at those fruit stands before heading to the beach! -Go earlier to avoid tourists -Ask locals if the water is choppy/murky that day!

Yelp
Went to Saint Thomas with a group of friends. One day we took a taxi to Magens Bay. This beach was absolutely gorgeous!! There is a bar that serves a variety of drinks. The staff was amazing!

Yelp
The beach it self is not bad. Customer services sucks. If you renting chairs and umbrella, bring cash, you need cash for the deposit and the rental fee you can pay using card. The old old hag, is very unpleasant. Everything you ask her, she annoyed. It's obviously it's generalized behavior/attitude, as she was treating the customer after us the same. Make sure you have cash as you are on your own setting up your chair and umbrella..... the beach is 3/5 star... yellow sand The customer service is -5 stars. Just an FYI this reviews is for the gift shop. The bar is 4/5 star. Drinks are good and service is good.

Yelp
It is a nice beach but gets crowded. Looks better from the aerial view. We preferred some of the other smaller beaches as they were not as crowded.

Yelp
The beach itself is A+. Beautiful and clean! The parking situation is ludicrous. You pay $5 a person to get into the park. There is no nice paved parking area for cars. There is however a giant paved parking area for taxi's and busses WHO LEAVE and the lot stays empty. They have security monitoring the lot so people can't use it. Meanwhile cars block each other in on the little patch of grass they have been given. For that reason, I can't recommend stopping here is you drive a car.

Yelp
Best beach on St. Thomas! Unfortunately cruise ships usually bring their folks over so before you go, be sure there isn't a ship docked. This beach costs $5 per person plus $2 if you park your car. The bay has land on three sides so the water isn't as impacted by weather as some of the other bays. We saw a turtle and some fish. There are showers and a beach bar with pizza. We had a great time!

Yelp
Beautiful beach, and a must on the island. White beaches. It does get pretty crowded since it's so we'll known, but there's tons to do. Snorkel, rent some water sports gear. Or lay out and read a book. There's plenty of sunny and shady spots. Food and drink right on the beach that was affordable compared to some of the other beaches. Highly recommend for tourists.

Yelp
Beautiful beach. However, it was pretty crowded. (But that's expected when it's listed as one of the prettiest beaches) It's $5 a person, and that have rentable chairs and umbrellas. Lots of room on the beach to spread out. Very kid friendly. They had a little gift shop (shirts, hats, sunscreen). They had a "snack bar" that had good pizza, French fries, salads, hot dogs, all that normal beach food. Then they had a bar. It was probably the least exciting snorkeling we experienced on the island. So if you're looking for a snorkeling spot OR your kiddos want to snorkel, this isn't it. Beautiful beach!!!

Yelp
Though many jaw-droppingly beautiful beaches dot the islands in these parts, Magens stood out to me as best in class, meriting two day-long visits during my 9-day stay. Once on a weekend and once mid-week - but never when a cruise ship was in town - Magens was my idea of perfection. Pristine and immaculate, I call Magens the crown jewel of St Thomas. The water isn't aquamarine, as it is at many beaches in these parts, but the immaculate beach, warm water, and dreamily elegant setting more than offset that fact. What else do you need to know?: * When cruise ships are in port Magens may draw crowds but the beach is 1-mile long so a bit of planning should ease that situation. * $5 per person to enter plus $2 per car is money well spent. Especially when you learn that someone walks up and down the beach taking and delivering drink orders (full bar), there's good food available ("famous slice" pizza, $5, is delicious), lifeguards aplenty, and that 2 chaise lounges and a beach umbrella can be rented for around $12. * Picnic/party areas get rented out on weekends and blare amplified music. Move to the far end of the beach (no lifeguards) if you want to escape it. * Weekend or not, late afternoon in October I felt like I owned the beach. Mostly empty, the place is drop-dead gorgeous at this time. * On weekends (or cruise ship days) kayaks and paddleboards can be rented at the end of the beach nearest the entry. * I can't tell you how many times I went back to float around in that water, in that setting. Many. Spending my final day here as the sun grew low was the defining memory of this trip. Beware though, as the sun grows low the no-see-ums come out and bite you to near death, an itchy souvenir that will last days after you return home. Still... Magens Bay.

Yelp
Ahh paradise. That word doesn't necessarily have to entail a beautiful beach with white sands and clear waters, but I suppose that's the easiest way to describe it. Magens Bay falls into that definition quite well. Is it perfect? Nah, but it comes pretty darn close. MB has that "private beach" feel to it, though there are enough people (cruise-goers and island-stayers) that it loses that aura a tad. You'll still get plenty of glorious photo opportunities so have no fear, Instagram-users. To get to Magens Bay, it might be a bit of an adventure, especially if you're one of those aforementioned cruise-goers (like myself, mother, and girlfriend were). A trip up the mountainous terrain and back down will get you to said paradise, though it might not be the smoothest ride for those with a sensitive stomach. Once there, you'll pay a small price to enter and then it's all systems beach! Well you might want to lay back on something. Worry not! Magens has plenty of rentals including lounge chairs, beach chairs, floating mats, and even a few fun things for the water (snorkel, flippers, etc.). They charge a rental price but will refund a portion of it upon return. We asked for one lounge chair and the guy divvying them out was a cool gent and gave us a second chair for free. Nice! Feeling parched? Head up to the covered bar area where you'll find plenty of tropically original mixed drinks (the Frozen Bushwacker was awesomely tasty) as well as some local craft beer (Virgin Islands Summer Ale for me!). Prices were totally on point. The only thing that wasn't "with it" were the food options. You'd think a caribbean-esque location would feature some culturally island-ish selections, but instead they offered up American fair only. Pizza, hot dogs, chicken fingers, fries, burgers...basically things you could get anywhere, and someone with enough Yelp sense like myself knows that this isn't the type of food you'd necessarily want or expect in St. Thomas. What makes matters worse is there wasn't really anywhere else to get grub from so you're stuck with this stuff until you head out of the bay. There is a separate Yelp page for the actual food, drink (and little gift shop), but I thought I'd mention it here because really it is part of the Magens Bay experience. Overall, Magens Bay hits on basically all cylinders (especially from a relaxing standpoint). You don't need to dine while here because it's really all about the beach. From that standpoint, things are 5-star calibur. Keeping that in mind, you'll definitely enjoy your time in this paradisiacal spot.

Yelp
How often does one get to sing classic Kenny Nolan's lyrics "I like dreaming. Coz dreaming can make you mine. We walked along St. Thomas beach a million times." Whilst walking and snorkeling on St. Thomas beach? Good heavens I know I am lucky to be able to do what I do. I'm from a little island so everything about Magen's Bay was familiar and second nature for me. So I get it. I loved every second I had. What I liked was there was no long walk from the road to the water. The warmth of the sun and cooling water. I didn't have to look far to see little fish swimming about coz the water is clear. Walking along this beach and interacting with the people was just fantastic. There's a snorkeling section which is nice to be able to do in calm waters. I also miss SUP'ing and the water is just perfect to do that all day. You can SUP the entire bay if you wanted. There's cafe's along the beach and some vendors. Showers and restrooms available too. What a way to spend a day. Safe environment to recharge and heal oneself. I took part of some self-care here I'll always remember. Mel M Yelp 20:10
