Really flavorful dishes! LOVED the pasta. Been here about 3 times and 2 of those ordered the Rigattoni D Pasta dish because it really is delicious. The sauce is creamy, not too too salty and tastes amazing so recccomend it! The quality and quantity is well worth the price but I feel this is more of a special occasion/treating yourself type of place due to how pricey it can get with added drinks. Came here for my mom's birthday one of those times and the lady who had also previously served us gave us a free dessert! The lemon cookies in that dessert were soft, crumbly and of course lemoney 🍋 and I would 100% order them as dessert if I came again. Not sure what her name was but waitress was very accommodating and pleasant! We also ended up ordering an additional apple pie type of dessert which was just delicious, what more can I say! This restaurant is popular for a good reason. The reason being quality food, great service and good ambiance. 10/10 Best Italian place I've tried thus far :)

I love coming here.. it always give me a neighborhood feel.. very down to earth very warm and family friendly..I had the stuff mushrooms and Caesar salad with pasta..I usually get the egg plant parm or chicken parm but wanted to try something different I’m glad I did.. thanks for the hospitality and I’ll see you guys again soon

My family of five and I set up reservations a week ahead. They kept me posted with messages and emails. The food was amazing, along with the atmosphere. We spent $225 for four main dishes, two sides, meatballs and family share salad. Including top. A great experience for those who don't spend this amount of money often.

Superb food and service! Loved their seafood pasta and their fettuccine Alfredo. Their fried calamari is to die for! Perfectly and uniquely seasoned and super soft. A nice fancy Italian restaurant❤️ Note that 1 pasta dish is great for 2-3 people. And Shauna gave us an amazing service!

This Italian restaurant delivered an unforgettable dining experience with outstanding service and the best pasta I’ve ever had. I recently visited Mariano’s in Chicago and was excited to learn that this is actually the very first location — such a cool experience! As always, Mariano’s never disappoints. Even after trying locations in other states (like the one in the DMV area), this one stood out with incredibly fresh food and excellent service. Huge shoutout to the host, our server, and the manager —Erika and Julia — for being so welcoming, attentive, and professional. Great experience all around!

TLDR: This place lacks the professional service other Maggiano’s exhibit. Clearly poorly managed as the entire staff lacked morale and gave unsatisfactory service. For an industry that’s struggling, and as a retired service industry member of fine dining, truly disappointing. After opening night at The Lyric Opera, my boyfriend and I visited this location for a quick late night bite. We LOVE the Maggianos out in Woodfield so we thought it would be a good idea. We arrived to a mostly dead restaurant an hour before closing, shockingly. The host was visibly annoyed but accommodating when I asked to change seats after they tried to get us to sit in the bar area. Our server took our appetizer order, and when the bread was brought out I asked for parmesan and it never arrived. We were one of three tables she was taking care of and the restaurant was dead so it shouldn’t have taken long. I ended up asking another server and our server finally came out with it much later. There was no salt or pepper or anything on the table for us hence me having to ask for everything. Then as we’re eating our entree’s the server assistants were setting up for a larger party for the next day RIGHT NEXT TO US. He was having unprofessional conversation in spanish with our server loudly , and we speak Spanish. My boyfriend ordered the seafood pasta which is always a hit but it was prepared poorly and he didn’t enjoy it. As a previous service industry member - i get it. A table walking in an hour before closing sucks. But we were respectful , we ordered fast and we were customers. Maybe they assumed we wouldn’t tip well , which i know is a generalization for late night folk, but when you give bad service , you’ll get what you put out. My boyfriend still tipped 18%. It’s sad to see an industry that’s already struggling have people working there who clearly don’t care. I see why it was dead in the restaurant.

Spectacular, the food was excellent. The service was perfect. We went as a group of more than 10 people with a reservation, and they prepared a large table for us. Recommendations: the red wine The Prisoner from Napa Valley.

Was here last night for a work related event From the valet to the servers what a great crew. The food is fantastic as we had family style salmon, chicken, salad, pasta, and desserts Your plate is always full , glass is never empty and the atmosphere is perfect. One of my favorite places downtown to go to Thanks all you are top notch

Freezing day out and I had a promo code for free appetizer that was expiring soon. They were totally empty when I arrived after 12pm. Understandable since the weather is brutal and sidewalks are slick. (By the time I left, one booth had diners and a table of three was next to me.) My server was Rigo or Rico... I'm unsure. He was nice. I got the stuffed mushroom caps, Rigatoni D (subbed in gluten free penne pasta- which I've gotten many many years) and to use up my gift cards I ordered a chicken Francese to bring home for another day. The chef came to my table as food allergies were disclosed. Wanted to know he would keep me safe. Very assuring and kind man. The 6 stuffed mushrooms were as good as I remembered. Big and well-stuffed. The Rigatoni D came and the (rice/corn) pasta was MUSHY! Omg! How embarrassing for them to try to pass that off as a meal. Rico said he'd talk to chef and the chef came to my table to tell me he saw the meal and apologized. They remade it, honestly, it was disappointing. The sauce was "off" or my tastebuds changed since last time I had this. I ate a portion of the remade meal & took leftovers home. I would have given it to a homeless person but it's too cold outside. The Chicken Francese was packaged with 2 pieces of chicken, potato wedges and asparagus. The asparagus had the woody stem still attached. Unacceptable. I cut off the woody ends myself at home. The meal will be eaten later, so I can't say how good it is. I've had it in the past, sure hope it's still good. The check came and Rigo failed to remove my free appetizer so he had to go back and redo the bill. I realize LEYE split ways with Maggiano's and I'll be honest, I'm glad my gift cards are now gone. I do not see myself returning anytime soon. Too bad because I used to enjoy Maggiano's. Clean restaurant and friendly staff, but food left me less than impressed.

I hadn't had chicken Parmesan in a while and this was a great reintroduction. The Caesar salad was fantastic, and our free tiramisu courtesy of Heather was delicious! Our server was very happy that someone named dropped her finally, and he was supper attentive to our table. The cocktail was also quite sweet. The ambiance in here is cool, and it's quite dark as well. I'd definitely come back here, and they even decorated the place well for Christmas :)

I hadn't been to Maggiano's in years and glad I game them a visit. My boyfriend had never been, I was praying they didn't disappoint and they didn't! He had Seared salmon, crispy Calabrian shrimp, spinach and garlic mashed potatoes with the lemon butter sauce and pepper relish. We shared the bread and stuffed mushrooms and I had the spaghetti and meatball. Every thing was good and Tracy was a great server. You can seat in open dining or in the booth area for a more intimate experience. I'm so glad that not too much, if at all had changed.

Came to Maggiano's because a friend recommended- he had his wedding here. We had good service, food came out SO quick. Calamari was good and everything was hot.

My friends and I were in town for a college buddies wedding so we all decided to come to Maggiano's the night before. I'm glad we did. On short notice we were able to get a table of 6+ and the staff was super friendly. Our table ordered a bunch of starters : garlic bread, bruschetta, fried calamari. All were terrific. For my entree I got the chicken parm and it was delicious. The chicken was great and the sauce was fantastic. Definitely recommend stopping into Maggianos if your in the River North area!

Great staff very friendly and attentive, they seemed short staff but not their fault. Made great recommendations in the bar for apps and entrees. Brought fresh bread and oil with parm cheese. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious and a large appetizer then moved onto the ravioli for entree. Plenty of food the portions were of good size and value. Overall good experience the staff made it better while the food took a moment.

This place is really nice! Feels like a super fancy upscale restaurant without the ridiculous prices. It is a little pricer than some places, but the portions are big so it doesn't feel like it's overpriced. We got Chicken Parmesan and Chicken Francese and both were great. The marinara is the perfect flavor. The francese had a good subtle flavor that was made even better by fresh lemon juice from the lemon slice served with it. Asparagus was cooked well and the potatoes were flavorful. They also brought out fried ravioli which was perfectly crisp and had the perfect amount of stringy cheese. We got the 5 desert mini plate. It would easily be enough for 4-6 people. There were only 2 of us and we took half home. All were great. The service was above and beyond. We were welcomed and seated quickly and had many people visit our table. We felt welcome but not overwhelmed.

At this location, I have only attended large banquets here. Several times over the years. From that perspective, I can say the food is quite good, the layout works great, service is excellent and I've always had a nice time.

Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic. The ambiance was very pleasant. The fettuccine Alfredo was incredible! We ordered garlic bread, calamari, and bruschetta for the table and everything was 11/10. Highly recommend!!!

Recently went on a Monday night for dinner. 1. Spaghetti and Meatball - $24.50 - This used to be generous serving of pasta at a much more reasonable price but has now more than doubled in price. And they don't offer take-home pastas anymore, so the value has further diminished. The good thing about this dish was that it reminded me of my fond childhood memories of eating Chef Boyardee canned spaghetti that I would heat up in the microwave or on the stove. The bad thing was that it tasted like Chef Boyardee canned spaghetti with overcooked mushy pasta--unlike the yesteryears of Maggiano's where the pasta was cooked al dente. According to the server, it is normal for the pasta to be soft like this, but you can ask for it to be al dente. Just a heads up if you like al dente pasta, be sure to ask for it upfront! 2. Chicken Picatta - $25.99 - This dish came with two pieces of chicken breast well seasoned and flavorful. It also included pasta cooked al dente--unlike the spaghetti pasta. There was also a bed of spinach under the chicken breast. Overall this dish was great and I would consider ordering again. Compared to the spaghetti marinara with meatball dish, this dish was a much better value and better prepared. 3. Kids Mac and Cheese - $9.50 - Still a good value, this meal comes with a beverage and choice of lemon cookie or vanilla ice cream. 4. Kids Cheese Ravioli - $9.50 - Also a good value. I ordered this to go for take home. When presented with the check, I had to remind the server to bring the take home Kids Cheese Ravioli. I also had to remind the server to bring the lemon cookies dessert for the two kids meals--one for here and one to go. Overall the food preparation and value for the spaghetti marinara and meatball was not as good as previously, and the service required reminders to bring the ordered food and what is supposed to be included with my meals.

Delicious food and ambience! I came with a group of 8 people for a celebration. We did the family style of dining, which is a lot of food. I'd loved the four cheese ravioli,house salad,and mozzarella sticks. The salmon was tasty but a little dry. The staff was excellent, knowledgeable and helpful. They also were letting us bring our own cake for our celebration. That meant so much to us.

Came here for lunch to celebrate our friend's birthday. Jose was our waiter and he was awesome! Answered all of our questions and gave recommendations. Two of us ordered the Branzino Crab Imperial; two others ordered the Blackened Salmon with Crispy Calabrian Shrimp and another ordered the Salmon Lemon & Herb. We all enjoyed our entrees. Afterward, Jose came out with Vera's Lemon Cookies with birthday candles and started us off singing "Happy Birthday." The cookies are lemony and delicious! They also have a special. If you order any of the classic pasta entrees they are $6, so we ordered ours to go. We had a wonderful time!

I visited oakbrook restaurant. Service was bad. Food was ok. I responded to maggianos and they said sorry and sent me a 35 dollar credit. I told them to keep it. I have a family of 5. It barely covered my gas. CHEAP

For chain type Italian place - this one is so good! Love a place with bread service and big portions. The location is really big so plenty of seating and the server we had was so nice. The chicken parmesan has two pretty big pieces of chicken and plenty of spaghetti. Flavors in the pasta are really good and the old fashioned was so reasonably priced for River North. Would love to try more of their dishes next time

I went to Chicago over the weekend with my fiancé and our kids, and he always talked about this restaurant. I LOVE Italian food! Everything was AMAZING! For an appetizer we had, the Italian meatballs were delicious! The crab cakes were delicious and tasted incredibly fresh and very well seasoned. My fiancé had bruschetta, and he said it was his best. I ordered shrimp scampi for my entree, and my fiancé had shrimp, Alfredo. Everything was delicious! I had a chocolate martini. It wasn't too strong. It was perfect. I cannot wait to go back. I recommend this restaurant if you're visiting Chicago. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu. I liked how it felt family-oriented. I will be back soon!

This place is phenomenal. I love everything about it! Their salmon with lemon is amazing it's a must have. The service and the welcoming environment is 10/10 everytime that I have been at this location. This is my go to spot for all date nights, events, celebrations, etc.

Good place to go to if you have a big group. We ate family style and overall was a good meal for a bigger group. Not the best Italian I've ever had but everything was pretty solid and I'd come back here in the right setting.

This was our go to for a moderately priced quality meal. "Was", not any more. They remodeled the restaurant in Schaumburg. It lost its "Old Chicago" feel. That I can live with, but not with the fact that they have drastically changed the way they do business, and changed their menu. Drink prices and food prices have increased across the menu. Food selections are reduced and the size and quality has lessened. It was always a bit pricey, but there was real value in the quality and quantity. That has changed. They used to offer great take home pasta dishes for 6.00 with any entree. Not any more. That made going there a real value, as you could bring home a great meal for just a few bucks more. Major changes all around and NOT for the better.

Great location and great food. We had a big party at the party room next door. It was really nice to have a separate quiet place so we could carry conversations. It was a preset menu The first course 4*Stuffed Mushrooms: good 4*Calamari Fritte: the usual. 3*Balsamic Tomato Bruschetta: ordinary We also had 3*Caesar Salad & Cabatta Rolls: per normal We had four different options of entrees 5*Filet Mignon: tender and nice, served with roasted garlic jus which was flavorful. Everything was perfect, it was the best filet mignon I have ever had! Highly recommend. 3*Atlantic Grilled Salmon: a bit overcooked but the lemon butter sauce was tasty. 0*Eggplant Parmesan: nobody ordered this dish 5*Mom's Lasagna: not warm enough, but still delicious! Desserts we had 5*Mini New York Style Cheesecake: very good. 5*Vera's Lemon Cookies: we all loved it

Classy old Italian vibe dimly lit vibes. Authentic home-made pastas and sauce, fresh bread so soft and EVOO. The calamari was just right now too chewy but nice crisp too. Pastas were so rich and creamy every bite was like heaven!!! Large portions for sure but it's so good you want to stuff it all. Family style dining options to share entrees also. Server was so friendly and helpful explaining the menu, water stayed full and ice cold. Save room for dessert I wish I did. Made reservations arriving around 6pm it was just starting to pick up but within 30min it was a full house. I would suggest reservations for sure. Lovely place for celebrating a special occasion. When in Chicago stop by for some traditional Italiano!

Holy fkn sht when I TELL YOU that I cannot wait to go back.... The portions are ginormous!! The food is SALTY and CREAMY and HEAVY and DELICIOUS!!! I know this is fake Italian food and a chain but this style of Italian is one of my FAVORITE cuisines PLEASE forgive me but I was born to eat like this!!! I housed the 16 oz steak like a true God-fearing American and the pasta was absolutely CLEARED by me and my partner. I'm sorry but American chimeras of Italian cuisine are outrageously good, a few echos of original dishes are oversimplified and overamplified and I LOVE it. The staff is awesome and our server joked with us about the movie we were watching during our meal, she was so sweet and awesome!! My partner and I were at Emporium the day before killing time by playing pool and Cocaine Bear was playing on the screen and the way we could not tear our eyes from the screen... I was truly slack-jawed and entranced!! We decided to watch it during our dinner and the vibes were just right that night :) Plus, I ordered spaghetti to-go for my friend Erm who's flight was cancelled and was crashing with me that night, she finished the entire thing!! I will spread the Maggiano's gospel!! The only thing I won't get again is the bruschetta but everything else was a hit!!!

Derek our server was very polite friendly and noticeable on menu great option he offered . A manager stopped by and told us the story behind the rigatoni D pasta . Bill Clinton favorite dish . Amazing service great time talking to Derek . Please give him more shifts . One more thing absolutely great ambiance. Able to talk with my girlfriend . Derek amazing job keep up the good work .

What can I say, this place was great! My wife and I had dinner here on a weeknight when we were in town on holiday. We ate outside and the atmosphere was awesome. This was matched by the friendliness of our server - I wish I could remember her name because she was great. To top all of that the food was tremendous. They started us off with with free appetizer that the chef delivered, fried ravioli. It was fantastic. Then we split a salad and it was equally good - I know it is hard to mess up a salad, but this one was exceptional. For our main course, my wife had the Spoaghetti which she said was incredible and I had the special that evening which was a Gnocchi, chicken, and sun-dried tomatoes in a pesto. It was incredible! We will return!!

I liked the decor, family style meals and the overall service. The spaghetti marinara was ok, but the Parmesan, bruschetta, salad and apple crostada were good. I was here for a curriculum training. Overall, I was happy with this place.

The truffle and honey appetizer was amazing! The bread was toasted so nice it made the appetizer amazingly delicious. Then we shared the Italian sausage bolognese with fettuccine. We shared the dish as it could feed 2 easily. We ordered the recommended wine to go with the meal. Oberon Cabernet Sauvignon. ++++ The customer service provided the recommendations for the appetizer. Tracy was amazing and provided the recommendations!

Our food was excellent! There was a gluten free pasta option, which was pretty good. I always appreciate when there are gluten free options. The service was phenomenal. By the time we entered the restaurant and were sat down, we got our food within 20 minutes. The overall ambiance was great and our server was excellent.

I was recommended this place by a buddy of mine . I want start off by saying it was a wonderful experience, Our server Natalie was great overall despite it being busy , she juggled all the tables on her end very well.(she was attentive) Yolanda(Manager) was also very polite & made sure we had a great experience. The food was 10/10 on flavor , portions & presentation. Took my lady here for her Birthday & was well worth it 100%.

We had a party and got carryout. This is the first time I had it given the fact that we are not from this area. Our daughter and son-in- law ordered a bunch of food and everything is so scrumptious! The portion is generous. Highly recommended!

The food is so bad. I have no idea how this Chicago chain remains in business. The food is low grade high school cafeteria garbage. Don't waste your money. Maggiano's is such a dump!

Everything about this restaurant was perfect. The food was absolutely AMAZING! The service was fantastic! The ambiance was beautiful, with the given lights and decor. 10/10 recommend the family sharables! This includes 2 salads, 2 appetizers, 4 entree plates, and sample deserts! For the price, you get a lot of great quality and quantity of food while being able to taste all my favorite dishes.

I was visiting Chicago and wanted Italian food for dinner. We were walking by this place and decided to to try it. I ordered lasagna which was delicious. The sauce was just right with no flavor that was overpowering you could tell it was freshly made. For appetizer I ordered calamari and these were delicious I almost ate the whole plate by myself. The food options are very generous and the service is friendly. The place gives a unique old school vibe. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area..

I've been to Maggiano's several times but this time it was a little different. I ordered a Dewar's White Label Scotch on the rocks. Our waiter returned a few minutes later and told me that they were out of Dewar's, so I ordered Johnnie Walker Red Label instead. I can't believe they didn't have a backup bottle of Dewar's. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive and apologetic about the scotch. For starters we ordered the Bombalina Appetizer Platter, it was very good, enough for three people, too much for two, and take home the rest for a snack later on. The Calamari was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of breading, there were four half-sized Mozzarella Sticks which were tender and crunchy as well as the Zucchini Frittes' with Lemon Aioli Sauce. I would definitely order this again. For the main course, I ordered the Chicken Francese which was very good with Parmesan-Crusted which was crunchy and delicious, supposed to be with Lemon Butter, Crispy Vesuvio Potatoes, and Asparagus. The chicken was fork tender, and the Asparagus was grilled perfectly but the Vesuvio Potatoes, although good, were the smallest I've ever seen, they looked like French Fries rather than Vesuvio Potatoes. Also, I Googled Maggiano's Chicken Francese and took a screenshot from Tripadvisor and it clearly shows a lemon-butter sauce in the photo but there wasn't any at all on my entree'. I included a photo of the Googled Chicken Francese. My guest ordered the "Lunch Combo" which consists of a half sandwich in this case it was Chicken Parm and a cup of Creamy Chicken Soup, she said both were very good and filling. We decided to forgo coffee and dessert and go to my favorite coffee shop near home. My friend had a slight mishap when exiting the bus, she dropped both of the "to-go" meals on the floor luckily one container didn't open on impact but the other one broke open and spilled on the floor. I quickly picked up the unopened container and put it in my bag but the other one I simply had to leave it and notify the driver. After ordering our coffee and dessert at the coffee shop and relaxing a bit I decided to check out her remaining to-go container by taking a cocktail napkin and running it underneath the container and discovered that the bottom was wet. I looked at her bag and the bottom was wet and shredded only to conclude that the to-go take home pasta orders are "chilled" which would explain how the brown paper bag got wet from the condensation that built up making the bag soggy. My suggestion to you is to bring a plastic grocery bag and put the to-go orders in the plastic bag then put it in the brown paper bag.

Having been a fan of Magianno's for years, I brought 15 of my family together here for a mini reunion. I don't think I could have been more disappointed. It was a 20 minute wait before a drink order partially taken. We had to call the waited back twice to even get a complete order in. The first round was finally delivered 45 minutes after arrival and sort of one at a time. Odd. And this after asking the manager what the hold up was. The food has gone downhill dramatically. What used to be solid takes on the traditional with some fun updates is now tired, ultra-basic and bland imitations of the classics. Brinker-Style.

Overpriced. The food was delicious but the entrees were all overpriced. I will go somewhere more affordable next time.

Our waiter Tristan was amazing he went above and beyond for our family and was very attentive! Seems like the co waiter was pretty hard on him but he still prevailed! if your visiting def request him:) the food was ok

I live close to the Old Orchard location so that's always my go to, and my family loves it. Yet this location in River North is down the street from my office so I come here sometimes...like today, when my lunch plans changed. I didn't remember that they don't offer a lunch menu or any specials, so I ended up paying $30+ for lunch with just an entree and an iced tea. But it was good as always. I had the chicken francaise with a doggy bag to take home. Yummy! Natalie, my server, was pleasant and attentive. Nothing to complain about!

Garlic bread- superb cheesy & delicious (8.5/10) Chicken piccata - good quantity, nice and lemony. Two people can totally share 1 dish, But I might not order it again. (7.10)

Came tonight for Christmas Eve with my family. For such a holiday it was quite busy. Mostly families or people meeting up with friends tonight. We ordered the chopped salad, chicken parmigiana, cod and the filet. The restaurant was all decked out for the holidays and music was playing which added to the ambiance of the day. Even the waitstaff were decked out in sweaters or Christmas lights. It's definitely a go to for us.

We went out to celebrate the gender of our baby and what a way to celebrate with such amazing food- the bread/butter, appetizers and entrees with amazing service!! They are all so kind. Even the chef came out greeted us with a complimentary dish for our first time visiting. Just amazing! Definitely recommend and definitely coming back!

Awesome dinner! We stumbled on this wonderful classic italian restaurant in the River North neighborhood. We started with the Italian Tossed Salad, which was delicious and generous. My wife loved her 4 cheese raviolis, and I was delighted with the Linguini de Mare. The raviolis were rich and delicious, and the seafood fettuccini was absolutely loaded with clams, lobster, shrimp and mussels. All this was washed down with a delightful Brunello de Montalcino DOCG. We were full to bursting, but finished with a plate of Vera's awesome Lemon Cookies. What a meal! We will definitely be back on our next visit to Chicago. Just wish this awesome restaurant was in my home neighborhood back in CA!!

Nice restaurant! I was looking for a good meal and I figured you couldn't go wrong with Italian food. I was right, this place has good food. It gives the ambiance of fancy when you walk in. I even asked if there was a dress code and there was not. The service was great! I enjoyed my meal, starting with the bread, the wine, appetizer, entrée, and of course dessert. You can't go wrong here, enjoy!

Fantastic. Unfortunately I was traveling alone so I couldn't share any of the regular entrees. For dinner I had pasta w olive oil and garlic. I had them add rosemary. I went back for lunch and had the fra diablo mussels. Then I repeated what I had for dinner again. All 3 were roughly $20 each, before alcohol. I had the federalist Zinfandel which was great. I can't wait to return so I can share plate w friends. D

We had a group lunch at this flagship Maggiano's Chicago location.  I've learned from experience over the years that Maggiano's handles groups quite well and they did so again this time.  This location must be the biggest of them all, and though the wife remembers eating here like 30 years ago, I can't say that I do lol.  Anyway, our group had an early lunch and they had us seated in their lower level.  The menu consisted of family style servings of some of their staples - bruschetta, Maggiano's salad, stuffed mushrooms, entrees of chicken piccata, four-cheese ravioli, and parmesan crusted tilapia, and desserts of chocolate layered cake and New York cheesecake. It was all the usual very good except for the tilapia which was fishy tasting.  Service was excellent, as was their coffee.  Thank you Maggiano's for being one of the more long-standing and reliable franchises we've stuck with over the decades.
