Hidden Hong Kong Bars to Uncover

"Hidden behind a tiny antique storefront on Hollywood Road, this theatrical speakeasy occupies a moody, banklike interior complete with a massive vault, spiral staircase, bank windows, and banquettes. It blends a 1930s‑tinged aesthetic with modern cocktails and nightly entertainment—live jazz in the early evening and DJ sets with cabaret dancers later—while offering shareable plates such as charcuterie and cheese boards, irresistible fries, mini beef burgers, popcorn chicken, and a slow‑cooked lamb shoulder glazed with sticky hoisin and sesame. The beverage program is adaptive, favoring curated cocktails for after‑work crowds and batch cocktails for busy late nights, and the vaulted setting is a standout feature that many visitors seek out." - Ashley Day

I’m in hk for my summer school and my local friend took me here. I feel the atmosphere is so nice and the drinks are tasty. My drink is called “her aspirations” and I really recommend!! The staff helped me to take photos with my fiend and I feel saying goodbye to her here is really perfect!

We went here last night for a birthday celebration and it was fantastic! The staff are very accommodating and exceptional! You are greeted with warmth and hospitality. We also feel safe during our stay. The food is good and the drinks are great! They can also accommodate off the menu drinks based on your preference. What I appreciated most was how attentive and friendly the entire team was throughout the evening. They made sure every guest felt welcomed and taken care of without being overbearing. It's clear they take pride in what they do, and it makes a world of difference in the overall experience.

It’s the experience here that does it for me - sexy, mysterious, dark and overall such a fun place to be for a night out with good drinks. My friend and I stepped into Maggie Choo’s on a weekday night, not knowing what to expect, and the next thing we know, three dancers appeared and one started dancing erotically on the piano. We were both 100% enthralled and mesmerised. They were going for an overall bank decor for its theme I think - bank tellers by the bar and a huge vault in the middle of the premise. Drinks were pretty decent and service was exceptional with this older lady just being an absolute joy.

After a long day, Maggie Choo is just the right place to unwind. The drinks were on point, flavorful, and with a nice kick! The music created the awesome vibes, bringing all the old school favorites. It was a bit packed earlier in the night, but once the crowd lessened after midnight, the dance floor opened. Great way to dance the night away with good vibes, strong drinks, and kick ass music.

Wow-wow-Wow what a cool and fab place to chill out… Maggie Choo’s is just Devine! Incredible live jazz… last night we were treated to an awesome talented Colombian quartet… it was almost like the Buenos Vista Social Club! Then the lights dimmed for a decadent floor show with exotic dancers and the best mixes from the DJ! All blended together seamlessly & perfectly by the hostess with the mostest… Vanessa!
