Hi Hello

Google
The tour was great! It's free for everyone. My 9 year old, 16y/o, and 18y/o learned a lot and weren't bored for a second! The house is huge and you can take pictures. The tour guides are awesome!

My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. The history of the late Madame CJ Walker's life was nothing short of amazing. Her home is well preserved and beautiful. Sincere thanks to our tour guide, Mark Wilcox. He was kind, hospitalable and told a very knowledgeable and a passionate narration of Walker's life and legacy. We left inspired and feeling as if we got to know the Walker family personally. Thank you. 😊

Lovingly maintained historical site that pays tribute to a pioneer. So happy that this exists and they offer free tours to make it accessible to all. Nice little gift shop inside to patronize the establishment. Knowledgeable and friendly rangers on site. If you care, please donate and follow their pages to ensure the government does not erase the contribution of Mrs Walker.

I would have given this a five, however, the staff made it a four . I went here this past Saturday with a group of friends. It was for my birthday celebration. I had about 10 people so I called to reserve a tour spot. I am not sure what the deal was, but both times I called the people who answered the phone started off aggressive and rude from the beginning. Regardless, I was told it was on a first come first serve basis, but if I showed up earlier enough I could hold spots for my 10 people. Once I got there they tried to tell me if anyone else showed up prior to all of my people arriving then some of them would not be able to participate in the tour. The guy was extremely rude from the moment I mentioned I was there to sign up my 10 people. We argued! It was bad. However I let it go. I wanted it to be a good day. Things worked out m. Two other people showed up so we there was 11 people. They said the max was 10. They allowed all 11 of us on the tour. The tour guide, Maddie, was amazing! She shared so much information with us and made this tour fascinating. I do recommend visiting this museum and taking the tour. Just be prepared that some of the staff may not be the friendliest.

I visited this home about four years ago when it was completely open. This time I went with my sister and her husband. We drove down second street to the entrance to the park and had to drive around two times before finding a parking spot on the street. The first floor is open now but you need a reservation. We didn't have one and it was close to closing time. The ranger gave us a quick tour for which we are extremely grateful. Her house is furnished with period furniture that she owned of a high class. It's well worth the time to visit. She also had a private elevator installed in her as she couldn't walk.
