Came here with my family for lunch. Tried their Buffalo milk and fish tacos! Although Buffalo milk looked too heavy and sweet, it wasn’t like that all. Not too heavy and tasted pleasantly sweet! In terms of their fish tacos, i liked how they weren’t too salty or heavy but crispy and yummy! Foods here weren’t cheap but I think the quality of food was great! I recommend visiting here for lunch if you need to get lunch in Catalina island on Avalon side.

Google
Service was great. Went around 11am and was able to sit outside. Got the grilled fish tacos with Mexican rice. The beans did not have much flavor. They gave me a lemon instead of a lime to squirt on the tacos which I thought was odd. They tasted a bit dry. I removed the tortilla from the second and it tasted better but I wouldn't get them again. They were just okay.

Google
The food was good, but the rice and beans didn’t have much flavor. The salsa, chips, and nachos were delicious.

Placed right in the heart of Avalon, just few steps away from the water, this Mexican restaurant serves flavorful meals and good drinks. Service was slow, and can be improved. Otherwise nice place to dine in.

Michael Zuber

Google
I was fearful it wouldn’t be good because it’s on the main strip. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. I would definitely recommend if you are hungry for Mexican food. We got the chips and salsa, margarita, steak quesadilla, and Caesar salad.

Google
Food was decent. Enchilada flavors were on the bland side. Prices were fair compared to all other restaurants in the area.

Google
Sorry but the music was like hard loud salsa music. Not conducive to eating. Dri KS were good and chips and salsa good. Enchiladas were very good. Broiled fish tacos were like eating broiled fish sticks.

So delicious food and drinks. Particularly virgin drinks. Our family enjoyed very good time there. Staff is very very professional . They respect your needs andhelp appropriately. I would highly recommend to dine in there.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of dining at Maggie's Blue Rose on December 14th. I had done my research before we arrived and had come to the conclusion based on previous reviews this was the place for us to have lunch, based on the restaurant's rating and their vegetarian offering. The location didn't hurt either! I was worried it might be too busy but when we walked up we were seated very quickly and an extremely friendly server came by to take our drink order. Drinks in hand we perused the menu and settled on some enchiladas and some grilled street corn on the cob as an appetizer. The drinks were amazing and we were immediately blown away by the salsa that came with the chips, so much so we asked for some to go and they gave us some! If we were going straight home we'd gladly buy a container of it, it was so good. The grilled Mexican corn on the cob arrived and was finished quickly as it was so tasty and then the food arrived. Let me tell you, this was definitely not your typical taco shop or even fine dining Mexican food restaurant variety. Maggie's is next level. The flavors were amazing! We ate every bite! We polished off the drinks, had a shot of tequila and bid miss Maggie adieu, until next time. And there will DEFINITELY be a next time, in fact we're due back in May. See you then!

Yelp
I have a few red flags with this restaurant. First they tried to charge me for something I ordered but they never delivered. The service was non existent. But the biggest red flag is they gave me one menu with lower prices at order but when I questioned the bill they produced a second menu WITH THE INFLATED PRICES. Wow, this is so deceptive. I WARN ANYONE GOING TO THIS PLACE TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE MENU AND THEN THE FINAL BILL.

Michelle C.

Yelp
Maggie's Blue Rose impressed us with its delicious food and efficient service. Despite being a smaller venue, our large group was seated quickly--a definite plus. The portions were perfectly sized--not too much, not too little. We tried the burrito and octopus, and both were flavorful and well-prepared. It's a cozy spot with great food and accommodating staff, making it a wonderful choice for groups.

Yelp
So, first off, yes, i am back...again...blah blah blah, guess who's back, guess who's back...etc... Second...this place is awesome!! But doesn't get the credibility. I've been to Catalina quite a few times, and I always ask everyone, from frequent vacationers, to food industry experts, to locals, "where should I go eat?" No one ever says "Maggie's Blue Rose." So my wife and I went there expecting "tourist trap" type of average food. We were TOTALLY WRONG!! Everything we had here was awesome, and the staff were all chill as hell and knew what they were talking about. So when you go in, it's like a laid back, atmosphere, but above any feel of "divey." Like relaxed classy, eventhough i was wearing a complete white trash shirt bragging of weed flavored ramen. I am a dirt bag. That being said...the tequila list is off the chains!! They have flights, which, if u like tequila like I do, is one of the more enjoyable flights you can have...a lot of subtle differences. But the main thing I'm talking about out here is the food. I went WAYYYYY OUT OF MY ELEMENT, and ordered the shrimp enchiladas. I'm not huge on seafood, and seafood with cheese just seems like a mistake. Now, I will say that the enchiladas have award winning pablano sauce on them...but I remained skeptical. These weren't just good, they were great. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and all of the flavors fit together like a glove. Seriously, I'm not sure I've ever recommended seafood with cheese to anyone but people I hate, you NEED TO TRY THIS DISH "Lazy empanadas...w/shrimp." My wife's carne asada was also really good. They use flavors very well here and also knew to not over cook the meat. So you still got that great, off the grill flavor along with the spices and such they added. Even the chips and salsa were good. My advice...mix some of the spicy "yellow salsa" with the mild "red salsa" and dip your chips in it...or even put it over your arroz (rice, kanin, etc...). I can want say enough good things about this place. We spent far less here and got a far better meal then most places on the island...and there are other good places as well...but Maggie's just crushed it for us!!

Lilly K.

Yelp
What a great view and ambiance near the sea. Service was quick yet still relaxed. The nachos was definitely a shareable dish and was hard to finish, because there was a lot. Was really tasty

Katie R.

Yelp
Saw some good reviews for this spot while looking up restaurants for our trip to Catalina, sadly we did not enjoy the food as much as others. This was probably the most disappointing meal we had on the island. I ordered the grilled fish taco with spanish rice and my mom the baja fish tacos with cilantro rice. Both of us found our tacos to be extremely bland. The second taco for each of us had a little more flavor as it had time to soak up the lemon juice, but even then it just wasn't that flavorful. My mom liked the beans, but I found them to be very plain and in need of a lot more flavor. The rice was the winner of the meal for me, but again not the best. We sat outside on the patio with a view of the promenade and the ocean, a good spot to people watch and take in the scenery. The place had a good atmosphere, and it was easy to get a spot at lunch time on a weekday (without a cruise ship docked).

Yelp
Most delicious MARGARITA!!!! You must stop here if you're a MARGARITA fan. Great ambiance.

Lara P.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance! My husband and I stopped here for lunch while visiting Catalina and both devoured our meals. I had the cucumber and jalapeno margarita which was a nice size and had a good flavor. My husband ordered the buffalo milk and also enjoyed it - that said, it was very sweet and almost like a milkshake. We started with the chips and salsa - both salsas were very tasty and offered a good balance of spice. He got the chicken mole and I got the lazy enchiladas. If you are looking for solid Mexican food on the island with a nice view of the water, look no further. I highly recommend Maggie's Blue Rose!

Vanessa G.

Yelp
Y'all, I was disappointed. Watered down Mexican food. I mean, the beans were canned for crying out loud. The rice was also disappointing. You even have to pay for chips and salsa, usually they are complimentary. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas and they were tasteless. My husband ordered the carne asada plate and he liked it. He said it was very tender. My husband also liked the salsa. So that's why I'm giving them a 3 star. Plus it's a cute place, where I enjoyed watching the Monday night football. The service was also good. The waiter was attentive and kind. If I went back, it would only be to sit at the bar and order a topo chico.

Yelp
Strawberry lemonade was so delicious, I had like 3! Best I've had. WRAPPED SHRIMP TAQUITOS Crispy wrapped whole shrimp with Guacamole & Pico de Gallo $17 good. CRAB & CORN EMPANADAS ok Corn, Dungeness Crab & Cheese-filled dough pockets, Topped with Salsa Verde & Crema $17 QUESO FUNDIDO Oven baked blend of 5 cheeses topped with Grilled Onions & Peppers, Served with Tortillas $17 Add Chorizo $4 So good!!!! Eat it fresh not to go. It's a nice treat. We all loved it. TRADITIONAL GUACAMOLE Fresh Avocado, Onions, Lime, Cilantro, Crispy Tortilla Chips & Salsa $16 was so good! This was the biggest hit at out table. SEAFOOD ENCHILADA COMBINATION Lobster Enchilada in Poblano Sauce, Crab Enchilada in Salsa Verde, Shrimp Enchilada in Poblano Sauce, All topped with Cheese & Crema, Served with Rice & Beans $38 Next time I'll get all three shrimp in poblano sauce. The lobster and crab wasn't good. But the shrimp MORE than made up for the other two not being great. This restaurant makes THE best poblano sauce I've ever tasted and I lived 3 yrs in Chiapas, Mexico City, and Guadalajara. It's so good it's why I wanna go back to the island. Service was great, I never complained once so I didn't bring the taste of lobster or crab to their attention so do not fault them on it because I'm sure they would have offered something else etc. We were a big group and I personally chose not to say anything. Like I said. Poblano sauce and shrimp and cheese and guacamole and strawberry lemonade were all 5 stars and I so hope i get to enjoy it one day again. Was clean.

Yelp
We waited about 15 minutes on a Saturday in summer, which really didn't seem bad at all considering how busy they were. I'm giving this place 3 stars truly because it was just "good". It wasn't excellent or very good, just ok/average. The mango margarita left a lot to be desired. It tasted mostly like mango syrup and hardly any tequila. The guacamole appetizer was very small considering it was $16. We both agreed that the guac lacked flavor. The chips were all stale which was disappointing. We ordered the steak fajitas and it was all just ok. The steak was low quality and the veggies weren't fresh. The tortillas were low quality from a grocery store. We enjoyed the ambiance as it was lively and they had nice decor. Our server forgot our waters so we had to ask the busser. The server was overall pleasant and sweet.

Kristine H.

Yelp
Vacation vibes with vacation-inspired food and drink? Sign me up! We were promptly seated, and the service was fast. The drinks were delicious, refreshing, perfectly balanced, and generously sized. The prices were reasonable for the quality. We ordered tacos, and the guacamole was fresh and to my liking. It was nice to see a crowd by the bar watching the Olympics, adding to the lively yet not overly loud atmosphere of the rest of the restaurant.

Rosanna M.

Yelp
We had a great first meal in Avalon after checking into our hotel. We actually asked the front desk where their favorite place to eat was and they both replied "Maggies", so being that we listen to locals and know they know best, we obliged. We were not disappointed. The service was so attentive, but not overly-so. Our drinks came out quickly as did our chips/salsa and main dishes. The fish tacos all came out with big pieces of tender fish, slaw and drizzled sauce, delicious. I had the Blue Rose margarita and my husband had the cucumber marg, which was refreshing and tasty. The queso fundido, to me, was the star of the show, although we didn't get chorizo on it, because hubs doesn't care for it, the grilled onions and jalepenos were a delicious addition. I wouldn't have been upset to come here in the same trip, like I probably could have eaten here breakfast, lunch and dinner without a complaint. Delicious food and cocktails. Great service. Lots of family members work there together, great atmosphere!

Lekey M.

Yelp
This is one of the better restaurants we ate at in Avalon. The food was decent and the drinks were delicious. The service was okay and the restaurant was lively and fun. My main gripe was nobody was at the front to seat us so we waited for a while and just asked a random worker if we could sit anywhere.

Sierra B.

Yelp
We had a great meal here with yummy drinks. We loved the prickly pear margarita and their virgin strawberry pina colada. We ordered the tortilla soup, the crab empanadas, their salad with mango, and fish tacos. Everything was super tasty and super fresh. Our server was prompt and helpful with any questions and the blown glass decor was beautiful. Can't beat the view of the beach either.

Nolan M.

Yelp
Maggie's Blue Rose is an absolute delight! The flavors burst in every bite, showcasing authentic Mexican cuisine at its finest. The ambiance is cozy, and the service is friendly and attentive

Michael S.

Yelp
Catalina is definitely not a foodie destination, but Maggie's is a decent destination. If this were on the mainland, it would be a 3-star restaurant. Chips and salsa are $4. Like many other spots, tap water is not offered, but a 16 oz water bottle is $1/each. I had the steak fajitas and the meat is under seasoned and the vegetables were still pretty crunchy. Looks like the onions were just starting to caramelize before they brought it out. The tiny cup of guacamole was really good though. Rice is buttery (mmmm!) and beans were pretty good. My wife had the shrimp fajitas and the shrimp were bland. The surprise winner were the kid's chicken tenders and fries. The tenders are hand breaded and very juicy. Definitely not frozen Tyson tenders! Fries we're well-seasoned and perfectly fried. No surprise, but dining here is expensive and underwhelming, which is the norm in Avalon. Overall, it's still better than many of the other restaurants. If you're deciding between Mi Casita and Maggie's, neither is spectacular and there is no clear front runner. Go with the shorter wait time.

Stacy S.

Yelp
I will start by saying the staff is very friendly and service seemed to be fast. The restaurant is very close to the beach and the bar seemed to be the busiest part. I can see how it would be a fun place during the summer months to grab a drink. On the other hand, the food was very unimpressive and somehow bland. We started with the chips, salsa and guacamole. The guacamole was great but we couldn't tell what the yellow sauce was supposed to be. Seemed thin and watery with a bit of spice, the red salsa was not very flavorful. For the main dish I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas and added the cilantro rice, my friend ordered the chicken tacos plate. The chicken in both dishes seemed to be overcooked and chopped in chunks and thrown into the dishes. The tortillas were also kind of hard or not cooked/warmed with the dish long enough. The rice was also dry. Overall, location was good but the food was lacking. I would be willing to give it a shot again in the summer season.

Monty D.

Yelp
As you can see from my pic, it has great views of the boardwalk and harbor. The patio is relatively small, but the dining room is rather deep, see my inside pics. This is predominately a beachfront Mexican food and margarita place. I have a pic of their posted wall menu to help you decide if this is the place for you. We caught them between shifts, so service was a bit spotty. We shared a skinny Margarita. It was served promptly (whereas our food order was never taken). This Margarita was okay. (Since I like food a bit sweeter, I added a packet of fake sugar and it brightened the drink up considerably, yet didn't add any calories.)

Cary N.

Yelp
This is a classic restaurant in Catalina. The restaurant is very classic Mexican style which is very clean stylish. The service here was very patient and helpful to my picky nephews. The chicken tortilla soup is delicious so good, a must order. It had great flavor and made with care. The strawberry mojito was made well.

Monica H.

Yelp
We didn't actually get to try the food here because the service was so poor that I ended up getting up and walking out. My son and I were walking around the island and worked up an appetite. I thought this looked like a cool place from the exterior. We walked in and we're greeted by the host. I told her I only needed a table for 2 people. She looked around and pointed to a two seater bench/table a couple of seats away from the window. She placed two menus on the visibly dirty table and walked away. There were crumbs, water, grease and a used toothpick on the table. I went back to the host and asked if she could please wipe the table down. She instantly looked irritated at me for even asking. She came back to the table with a dirty rag and in two swipes, wiped all the crumbs and the used toothpick into the bench seat and walked away. My 11yo son who doesn't like germs refused to sit down at the still dirty table, so he stood roughly 10 minutes as we waited for the server to arrive. When the server finally arrived, she looked confused as to why my son was still standing. I asked if she could please wipe down the table again. She came back a couple of minutes later with a rag and quickly wiped it down, but still did a poor job. With the dirty rag still in hand she asked for our drink order, then said she'd be right back to take our order. Fast forward 15 minutes, we still had no drinks and we're still waiting to place our food order. Everyone around us including people who were seated after us had chips & salsa, food and drinks at their tables, and we still had our menus. Finally, the server came back without any drinks and took our order, grabbed the menus and walked away. That was the last time we saw her. We waited another 20 minutes and still had no drinks or appetizers, so I told my son "let's go". I went to the hostess and asked her to cancel our order. I told her we had been waiting at the table a very long time and still had no drinks. I pointed out people that arrived after us with larger parties who already had drinks and food. She just looked at me speechless offering no apology or attempt to resolve the issue. So I politely thanked her and we left. Overall, the restaurant wasn't packed during our visit. But I did get the impression that they definitely put a higher priority on tables with larger parties obviously to make more money. I cannot recommend eating here after my experience, and I wouldn't come back.

Jen S.

Yelp
Very cute place, I love the decor! Wonderful spot for a drink and people watch. My family and I are vegan, and they don't serve anything vegan except guac, chips, and salsa, so we just had that with our drinks. If they had a vegan burrito or something like that on their menu, you can bet we would have come back here multiple times on our trip!

Terry T.

Yelp
Awesome food, great staff & the drinks were amazing. Ambiance alone was worth the visit. This is a must try/visit while on Catalina Island

Farhana M.

Yelp
Every restaurant had a 2 hour wait for a group of 6, but this place was able to seat us almost immediately. It wasn't totally empty but not crowded. Alberto took care of us and he was great! He let me know that my strawberry lemonade had 1 free refill, if he didn't let me know that then I would have gone thirsty. The queso fundido is absolutely delicious. Savory, salty, spicy. I wish they gave more than 3 tortillas. I would definitely get this appetizer again. My group also got the ceviche but i did not like this much. Having a fish ceviche and not shrimp is weird.

Maka M.

Yelp
I'm giving it 2 stars cause the service was great! Me and hubby went there last night and the food did not have any flavor. We order the shrimp Taquitos and nachos with chicken. Shrimp Taquitos were burnt and had a green sauce I think it was supposed to be guacamole. The nachos had no seasoning and tasted very bland. Won't eat here again only for drinks.

Jes D.

Yelp
What we ordered: Chipotle pasta and chicken fajitas. Two pineapple margaritas. The food left much to be desired. In the entirely of Avalon, you can expect mid to low level unseasoned food. With that in mind, and understanding the majority of patrons that visit the island, lack of spice and seasoning is to be expected.. but at a Mexican restaurant that feels very wrong. Also understanding the inflation for being on an island, the prices are still extremely high but again, your only choice here is to accept it or else you have no food options, especially if you're staying in a hotel and can't cook for yourself. If we visited again, we'd skip over this place. It had nothing to do with the service, simply the quality of food.

Aurora L.

Yelp
The food is not bad; only the asada taco is a little bit hard to chew. The fujita or something is not bad. The most important part is the service. It's just bad asf. There's a woman server who is hella mean. Her attitude was bad, and she was pretty rude. She served the wrong food to us and used different names when serving the food which was extremely confusing and she did not seem apologetic. Yeah. The rest is fine. Not recommended

Mike R.

Yelp
Good food and good service! We enjoyed tacos and enchiladas that were freshly prepared and delicious. Comfortable seating - hang out and have another margarita!

Bansari S.

Yelp
I'm going to start off with this was a fun place to visit, and very quick and easy access! Right off the main walking street of St. Catalina Island. It is very touristy and obviously a cruise port.. so food taste I will say was mediocre and service was alright, but the ambiance and prices were fair. The portions were giant and we really liked the triangular plates totally a fun vibe and there were some locals as well as mainland guests like ourselves. It was a clean space and would definitely recommend if you aren't picky with food.

Lety P.

Yelp
Food is tasty and well presented. I highly recommend this place. The ambiance is so culturally like Mexico. I know how to prepare this food and it was better than mine. The relleno was a real poblano Chile not canned. The beans refried well and the rice was different but good. I never issue 5 stars because I always leave room for improvement. The server was attentive and friendly. He deserves a raise.

Phil E.

Yelp
Service was great! The food was standard tourist fare and bland for our taste. I ordered steak fajitas with the hope that at least they would come hot and sizzling, no such luck. They were meh at best and sitting in liquid from the bell peppers and onions. My wife ordered fish tacos and said that they were ok. The restaurant was clean and had a pleasant vibe. They serve cruise ships and tourists, so it's hard to fault them for not seasoning or salting the dishes. It would have been nice to find a great restaurant on Catalina, appeasing such a diverse clientele is difficult. None of the places we tried were notable, so it's hard to fault this one. On another note, we met some locals that said that they go to a place called "The Sand Trap", which is across from the golf course. They highly recommended it. We didn't have time to go there and definitely will on our next visit.

Shawn V.

Yelp
There food is awesome!!! We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. We could have sat to view the ocean, but the service was worth goin to the bar. We ordered the duck enchiladas. OMG. They are amazing!!!! The table side Elite was so good. !!

Richard B.

Yelp
Everything in Catalina is expensive. They won't serve water, but they will charge you for bottled water. The chicken mushroom chipotle was very good. The potato tacos sounded amazing, but they really just put mashed potato's in a taco shell. My daughter and I were really exited when I saw them but were very unhappy with the execution. The servers were nice, but the service was kind of slow. We were not there at prime time. The carne plate was really good. You must try the cilantro rice. Entrees, one beverage, 4 bottles water $156.00. It was good but not that good.

Rianne A.

Yelp
My favorite food on the island! Though prices were steep, the food was all quality and tasty. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas and was so impressed - the perfect blend of umami, spice, and juiciness an enchilada could get. The green sauce was delicious as well and took the enchiladas to the next level. The rice and beans were solid and were a tasty addition to the plate. My boyfriend ordered the trio platter and we loved the chile releno the best. So tasty and delicious! We shared the chips and salsa ($4) which was also a great starter but again a little pricey. Service was a bit slow, but the ambiance was lively for a night out. If I'm coming back to Catalina, I would come here.

Myhanh A.

Yelp
We were visiting Catalina for the day to explore some of their activities and came across this small restaurant along the way. The ambiance is perfect for a hot day and their menus offered a great selection of drinks and food items. Upon entering, we were seated immediately and the service was attentive! We were mainly seeking something small to munch on while we waited for our parasailing meet up time to approach. As we overlooked the menu, we came across their Ceviche appetizer. I was skeptical to get the ceviche at first, as it was made with "fish" versus my traditional shrimp ceviche. However, they offered to provide me with a sample taster and I did not regret ordering it in the end. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was flavorful. Next time we will be visiting Catalina, we will be sure to try their other menu items.

Zarifa A.

Yelp
I stopped by Maggie's Blue Rose for a quick dinner before departing Catalina. I ordered the mole braised duck enchiladas because I thought it sounded unique and was really impressed by the enchiladas! The mole sauce was delicious and complimented the juicy duck well and I loved that they didn't skimp out on the amount of duck they put inside the enchiladas. The enchiladas came with sides of rice and beans, however, the rice tasted a little bland to me and wasn't traditional Mexican rice which I thought was surprising for a Mexican restaurant. Although the beans were good, they weren't anything special. I like how they offered both indoor seating and outdoor seating in their small patio. The indoor seating area had a really nice ambiance, however, we chose to sit outdoors since it had a view of the ocean and I'm all about views. Service here was also good and our server checked on us several times during our meal to make sure that we were doing good.

Sean J.

Yelp
After a morning full of driving around on Catalina Island on a golf cart, my wife and I were in search of a light lunch. We came upon Maggie's Blue Rose, a Mexican restaurant that offered up unique flavors. We decided to just order a few appetizers for a lighter meal. The Michelada was with Michelob Negra, as a darker beer is better to compliment the tomato flavor. The rim was lined with tajin which gave it a sour and lime flavor before taking a sip. The guacamole was freshly made with a little kick added from the jalapeños added in. It had a nice creamy texture and crunch from the onion in it. The salsa were great as well, with the green one being more spicy than the red salsa. The crab and corn empanadas were phenomenally seasoned. There was a lot crab meat inside and the salsa on top complimented the freshness of the corn. The final appetizer we got was the mole braised duck taquitos which were my favorite. The duck was tender and the homemade mole on top with crema reminded me of my first trip to Mexico. If you are here, this is a must try.

Monica C.

Yelp
Good food and ambience. The waitress was friendly and patient. There were great veggie options.

Angelica A.

Yelp
I'm so glad we accidentally made our way to Maggie's while we were on the island! It was our last day in Catalina and we were walking around looking for a place to eat when we noticed this place was still open. We ordered two cocktails (one sangria, one margarita) and two entrees (pork carnitas platter, carne asada platter) which we split. While both dishes were delicious, the one we kept going back to was the pork carnitas. It was incredibly tender and also had some of those yummy crispy edges...basically cooked perfectly. The service was also really wonderful throughout, and the interior itself was great for both groups and couples. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in the area!

Stacy L.

Yelp
During my day trip, I decided to visit Maggi's Blue Rose, and it turned out to be a great decision. Despite not being a fan of alcoholic beverages, I couldn't resist trying their Strawberry Margarita, and I was blown away by its amazing flavor. The strawberry taste overpowered the tequila, making it a delightful drink. While the fish & chips were a bit disappointing with the fish being soggy, the steak fajita made up for it with its deliciousness. I'm definitely planning to return to Maggi's Blue Rose for their fantastic drinks and mouth-watering dishes.

Shelisa W.

Yelp
3 stars for food only. Service was much better. Steak mango salad was bland, zero seasoning on the steak; potato tacos tasted like they used stale tortillas; Caesar salad was average. Stick to the drinks and guacamole.

Lacey B.

Yelp
The food was great, the chips were tasty and our server Hannah was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend!

katie

Yelp
This place was absolutely terrible. The food was awful. The service was not great either. The atmosphere was cute, nice looking place but the food was way overpriced especially for what they are serving. We ordered: Charred octopus plate - octopus wasn't cooked all the way & had a very weird texture, the cilantro rice was so dry it was like eating chalk. Chicken tacos - very dry, it was huge chunks of plain over-cooked chicken & huge chunks of onion on a shell. It was supposed to come with lettuce, tomatoes, salsa & it did not so I had to ask for it & assemble myself. The Mexican rice with this was really dry as well. Beans tasted like they were straight from a can, they were gross. Guacamole - very bland mush, chips were stale. I would absolutely never come here again.

Yelp
My wife and I were visiting for a few days. Came here for lunch on our first day. It is right on the boardwalk with outdoor seating. Mexican cuisine. We had the shrimp ceviche, my wife had the carnitas crispy tacos, and I had the blackened shrimp soft tacos. All of the food was rather bland but fresh and presented well. Fortunately, they have a spicy salsa that added flavor. The server was pleasant but just okay, not coming back to check on us unless we flagged him down. I would recommend Maggie's for the ambiance and the food with the caveat that you will likely have to flavor it with salt and/or salsa.

Yelp
Raul was our server. Awesome guy. Highly recommend this place. The guacamole was sensational! The fresh chips were so tasty. The kids pasta with Alfredo sauce was way better than olive gardens. The skirt steak was to die for. If you come here you wont be disappointed. The service and food was so excellent.

Yelp
Food was amazing and the service was great. We ordered a carne asada platter. The asada was grilled to perfection. Thanks Alvaro for making it a great experience! We would definitely come back!

Yelp
This is the first place we had dinner after arriving to Catalina. We just missed our reservation for the Zipline Tour but this place made up for it. Kitchen was closed until 4:30 for dinner service so we waited at the bar. I had the Buffalo Milk which is nothing what it sounds like. It tasted like a banana milkshake with alcohol. I think it's great on its own but probably did not compliment my Rosa Azul plate which has a sampler of Cheese Chile Relleno, lobster taco and fish taco. Food was delicious and a huge portion! Chips are warm and served with freshly made salsa and guacamole.

Yelp
Food was amazing! I ordered Queso fundito and tostadas. Good flavor and big portions. Energetic vibe. Wasn't too busy at the time I came which was good. Gets busy later in the evening.

Yelp
Took my mom out to dinner at this spot last night. We got seated promptly and the waitress and waiters were quick at taking and bringing our our order. It was pretty busy, but since we were only a party of two we got seated promptly. I ordered a peach margarita and two tacos (carne asada and grilled fish) for my mom and a Combo fajita order (shrimp and steak) for myself with a piña colada. The drinks weren't that strong, but the food was delicious. We pretty much left our plates clean. Almost forgot, we also got the street corn as an appetizer. Pretty pricey street corn in comparison to the actual price of an elote in Los Angeles. Anyway, it was a good change from the usual chips and salsa.
