"This country inn is the sort of hotel that everyone should experience at least once in a lifetime. Housed in a restored mill, the guestrooms are all individually decorated and adorned with architectural features that recall the building’s original function." - Tablet Hotels

We booked this hotel for its location just outside L'Aquila for convenience of parking out of the city centre and because it was a Relais chain hotel. The hotel was fine with its facilities and location etc but the details didn't really come up to our expectations.||The room was fine but we soon discovered that some of the lighting and power points didn't work and after a visit from the onsite receptionist we discovered that one of the electrical trip switches was down - this should have been checked before our arrival. It took quite a while to connect to the hotel's wifi but we eventually succeeded to then also discover the main light in the bathroom was probably only about 15 watts and very dim, so much so that we had to use our mobile phone torches to see what we were doing in there! Not a good start.||The food in the dining room was as good as we had expected it to be from the website but the ambience was distinctly lacking as so few people were checked in and we never ate dinner in the same location - once in the small dining room, once in the banqueting hall as there was a private party in the dining room and once in the breakfast room on our own as there was a wedding in the banqueting hall and in the dining room. We felt very secondary to other events being staged in the hotel and rather pushed around to suit other bookings. Breakfast was fairly acceptable and fulfilled our needs.||Overall we were disappointed with our stay at the hotel, although the room was serviced daily the level of service could have been better and more welcoming and we did really feel somewhat neglected in favour of other group bookings and a wedding party. A lesson to be learned here is to perhaps enquire upon booking whether there is a wedding going on during your stay and perhaps then choose another hotel?

This beautiful, simple hotel is just off the main road immersed in a green environment. Very well kept, clean and friendly service. It has a beautiful garden and swimming pool area to relax in summer. Just next door there are some horse stables, privately owned so you can go horse-riding too with a trainer. Pets welcome. The only negative aspect is the poor breakfast buffet. You'd expect a little more for what you pay.

Our arrival didn't start off well as they were stopping up for us as our flight didn't land until 10pm in Ancona. We should have been there at 12pm however the A14 was closed 10 minutes away from the hotel, we had a 1.30 hours detour across the mountain. The hotel was lovely and waited up for us. We were every appreciated. ||They served you breakfast in the morning if you told them what you wanted due to COVID. There was enough choice. We did ask for a sandwich one lunch time and wow, it could feed a family of four, great for our walk in the mountains the next day.||The rooms were large but basic with a stocked bar fridge and kettle with tea and coffee, however we did have to ask for this and milk.||We did go to the hotel pool which was more like a pond. We wasn't amused to find a black labrador dog swimming in there though! So I wasn't due to dog hairs everywhere. The gardens were very tranquil especially if you wanted to chill for an hour or two next to the pool.

Stayed here 3 nights. Parking was good. There was a wedding and that was nice. Affordable with good breakfast included. Cute dog outside begging for food. Room was a good size. Overall good experience.

Stayed for one night on our trip from the Amalfi coast to the north. Hotel is fine, room is clean, good airco (which turns off when the target temp is reached), great shower. ||However, we didn't really feel welcome. Receptionist was standoffish and when she couldn't promptly find our reservation, she asked us first when we reserved (weeks before) and then if it was at this hotel (really?!). After handing over our passports she did find the reservation, obviously.||Since we had some time to kill we wanted to go to L'Aquila on foot, wouldn't recommend: you have to walk quite a distance to the piazza di duomo and furthermore, alongside a busy 90km/h road without a sidewalk. So if you want to visit the city and not take your car: choose a different hotel.||Breakfast next day was good with different kinds of sweet and savoury options and coffee made to order.

Cozy place in the countryside but not far from the city center. Country house decor, relaxing atmosphere, silence and excellent cuisine. The staff is always helpful and polite. An ideal place for a refined dinner, an ideal place to rest after a day of work.

The week we booked this hotel and planned this trip Abruzzo dominated the news for all the wrong reasons. It was too late to cancel and when we landed in Rome it was sunny and hot so we just decided to go ahead as planned. The hotel was excellent, modern built with no corners cut it even held the promise of a Michelin star chef, just our luck he was on what must be a well deserved holiday. The staff and the hospitality was impeccable. We stayed only one night Abruzzo was all snowed in and the Fiesta we ended up with was not built or equipped to take snowy roads.
