Beautiful and mysterious castle of medieval Serbia. Stunning views and fresh air to fill your lungs. The energy of the place is amazing and old. Below is a place called Maglic grad where you can get refreshments and relax in an ethno style household. The bridge that used to provide access is no longer there. Now a group of volunteers provides ferry service for free every two hours, or at any time for a small fee.

One of the best places to visit in this part of Serbia. There is also Maglič city where you can have a rest, refresh, and also waterfall nearby with beautiful and untouched nature. A bit of hiking, a bit of swimming, a bit of chilling. ❤️ We have enjoyed it, and will be looking forward to coming back.

Incredibly beautiful fortress, it's well preserved and there's the option of climbing atop of it which provides an amazing view of the landscape beneath it. The path leading up to the fortress was well constructed plus there are lights along the walkway which ensure you could safely visit even in the evening hours. Currently there isn't a bridge to cross Ibar and get to Maglič, but there's a raft that goes across every 2 hours and it's free to go on during the scheduled hours. Additionally, if you miss the raft at one of the scheduled timestamps the workers will gladly take you over to the other side per request for 300 dinars a person. There's a cozy little cafe below the fortress if you want to rest. The cafe is a part of Magličgrad, a nonprofit volunteering organization in charge of manning the rafts. That being said, the entire experience of visiting Maglič fortress is free with the additional option of donation. The donations combined with the contributions of the volunteers is what's keeping the tourist site running and in perfect order. In my opinion leaving a donation is a must, as the entire site is incredibly well kept and all of the hard work and effort of the volunteers should not be disregarded. All things considered, Maglič is definitely a very worthy visit.

If you are searching for an easy hiking route, this is the right place. To get to the castle you must pass the river by boat, which is available every two hours (8 AM, 10 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, 4 PM, 6 PM, and 8 PM). The ride is free, but here is a barrel on the boat where you can donate for the service and nature conservation. Before you start a hike to the castle, you will pass by a small village "household" where young people live and make fresh juice and food for visitors. In case you are looking for a small weekend adventure, this is surely the right place to go.

This place is magical! As you pass by, you can see a fortress up on the hill. The only way to get to it is by river boat, aka skela, and you have timetable of departures, also a contact from the driver. Then, the pathway to the fortress is through amazingly cute household where you can take a break and have some local drink. They also have some domestic animals - goats, ponies, cats, which are very friendly! Then you climb up to the hill for 15 minutes, the road is arranged. The view from the top is amazing. After you finish on the fortress, down the hill you have to more attractions - the camp with beach on the right and the watterfall on the left. All in all, this property is such a nice tourist attractions thanks to the owner and volunteers who take care of it.

Maglič (Maglich) Castle is just one of those castles where you can feel the midieval vibes. I've heard legends about Maglič and always wanted to go and see it, feel the energy held in those rocks. A friend of mine is from Kraljevo (a neerby city) and this time we went together with some friends and enjoyed it. What you need to know: The bridge for passing the Ibar river has fallen down. There's no way of crossing but the barge from "Maglič grad (City of Maglich)" that crossed it every 2 hours, on even numbered hours. Maglič grad is a lovely village beneath Maglič Fortress, where volunteers work from all over the world. You can buy some local food and drinks there, arrange a lunch, but also hear a lecture about Maglič, if you're interested. They also make Beer and Rakija (schnapps) there, that you should try. The road to the Fortress from Maglič Grad is paved, but goes zig-zag up the hill. It's a 10 minute walk up the hill. You should bring your swim suits with you in the summer, because there's a nice waterfall where you can swimm a bit. People in Maglič Grad will tell xou how to get to it.

Small castle where you can move freely, nice views. The previous bridge does not exist anymore (river destroyed it), but there is a group of volunteers that cross the river in a boat (maglicgrad, see second picture). The boat is where google mark the old entrace/Bridge. Very nice people, I recommend you to contact them some time before going there (1-2 hours before). It's free, just donation in case you want to go.
