Lisbon Was Just Named the Best Culinary City Destination in Europe — Here Are Must-eat Places, According to a Local

"Magnolia sits on the corner of Praça das Flores, offering some fantastic people-watching. However, you may not even notice because all eyes will be on the food. Its menu changes frequently, but you can always count on a sweet brunch snack like French toast or heartier bites like Turkish eggs, cured salmon, or lamb meatballs. (Note: If Magnolia is full, its sister location, Calma, is just around the corner.)" - Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca is an award-winning journalist and co-founder of Be a Travel Writer, an online course for the next generation of travel journalists. Delicious food. Cozy atmosphere. Good service. The bread with pistachio, pesto & burrata was amazing. The pork croquettes were also very good. The desserts also did not disappoint. We tried 3. My favorite was the pear & pistachio.

Had a very tasty lunch here on our final day in Portugal. Food was good, freshly made in the open kitchen behind the counter. A very small and cramped restaurant space. The raspberry and pistachio cream tiramisu was interesting and probably wouldn’t order again but everything else was tasty.

Cute spot with indoor and outdoor seating. We went on a rainy night but the night before it was very busy as it was sunny. The cabbage was our favourite followed by the eggplant, pork and then fish bun. Dessert is nothing special so could skip that. We got orange and red sun and both were tasty

Come for the aesthetic, stay for the super friendly service, return for the outstanding flavours! A beautiful space and everything I ate was delicious. Lots of veggie options and great value too. I was so impressed by Magnolia!

Cozy, very nice seating on the terrace but inside too has good music and a discreet open kitchen. The service was excellent and friendly. How ever the food was in my opinion slightly overpriced because the portions are really small. We ordered the salmon and the spinach cream/ eggs. Good quality of ingredients, but lacks seasoning and cohesion. I assume in afternoons I very agréable with the praca das Flores on your horizon.

Amazing visit!! We waited around 30 minutes for our table, which we didn’t mind, and ended up sitting inside out of the sun. The staff were lovely, welcoming and informative, offering suggestions for food. The inside is rustic with beautiful ceilings. The food was absolutely amazing. Fresh, seasonal and perfect for the hot weather. The atmosphere was lovely until a really large, loud group came and sat inside. This isn’t anyone’s fault but the inside became very noisy. I would be back!!

Such a nice spot! It's small and cozy and the food is great. The staff is nice, and it's perfect for brunch/lunch/snack/drinking. Loved it. I'd say the prices are bit higher than expected, especially since they have the menu up on instagram but the prices don't match. That was the only negative though. I really recommend the berries french toast and the burrata with pesto 😋😋😋

Very very trending place. Everything was very perfect, nothing more to add. From the latte, to the PB chia pudding (that we ordered twice 😝), as well as the delicious vegan tomato toast and the Turkish eggs! Yum yum. The place is quite lively, even though it’s very very expat style, not much locals there. It feels like a bite of NYC in the middle of a cute Portuguese area. Fun to grasp, and grab ☺️
