We were in the doubleroom superior with an external bathroom. The room did not quite match the pictures sent, and we struggled a bit to get the heater going (we travelled there in December 🥶). But the bathroom and room were clean and neat, with everyday tidings from the house maid. The host was very welcoming and gave recommendations for places to visit in the city. The breakfast was simple toast, cheese, ham and some fruits, with coffee and orange juice. A nice stay for a couple of days! 🙌

The Magnolia Guesthouse was the best experience, the room was very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was very well served. The host gave us some useful advice on what we could visit in the city. We enjoyed our stay very much and can surely recommend this place.

bedbugs! we checked into magnolia guesthouse yesterday midday and when we came back to the room after dinner, we found a bedbug. Once we alerted Raquel, she responded immediately and was apologetic and initiated the refund process via booking.com, which we were grateful for. Outside of this, we didn’t receive much help or assistance and had to find an alternative hotel at midnight which was quite stressful. When we asked Raquel if she could assist with covering some of the costs for the night we had to book at the replacement hotel (which was €177 due to last minute booking) we were told by Raquel that guests “there are lots of stories of guests schemes” and also accused us of bringing in the bedbug. Raquel claimed as she was already out of pocket for refunding us, so would not be offering any compensation. Overall, this was a very poor experience and we wouldn’t recommend a stay at the guesthouse in case there is a further infestation.

Very pleasant stay. The host is very nice and friendly. It's in a walking distance to the centre, the underground is close. The accomodation is very calm. The room was tidy, but quite small, there wasn't much space for our stuff (no wardrobe), it was really just two beds, very little light. I would say fine if you don't want to spend there a whole day. The bathroom was shared, but very nice, usually free to use. Light breakfast.

This was a pleasant surprise. The communication with the guest house owners was excellent. The bedroom was more than spacious, a four-poster bed was a bonus. Plenty of cupboard space. We had a separate shower/toilet, but this was for our use only. Breakfast was okay, plenty to eat and drink which set us up for the day. The room/toilet were bright and clean, as was the breakfast area. No complaints from our stay at the guest house.||||The hill climb from the metro station marquess de Pombel was hard going. There are buses but you have to cross a busy dual carriageway to get to it.
