This was home for two nights during a visit to Buenos Aires at New Years. The hotel is located on a side street in the Palermo neighborhood, but is a short walk to a main thoroughfare like Av. Scalabrini Ortiz (which has a metro stop for your public transportation needs).
Upon entering the lobby, there is a vintage feel that permeates. Check in took a little bit of time, as there had been some power issues in the neighborhood and the internet was firing back up. The room was located on one of the upper floors and was spacious. Antique furniture appointed the room. There was a large armoir, complete with a safe, for storage. The room had air conditioning, which was definitely a must as it was relatively warm and the room would otherwise have been stuffy.
Breakfast each morning was fantastic. Eggs were made to order (complete with a side order of ham if you wanted), a variety of fresh fruit was available, and a nice selection of beverages (tea, juice, coffee).
The hotel also has a small roofdeck, which was a nice place to hang out and observe the neighborhood's rooftops at night.
The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. If you are traveling over the holidays, as we were, we got great assistance in how to hail a cab (as reservations were not available to be made). Additionally, when airline websites and online check-in showed some incomplete information, the front desk called the airline and was able to confirm the details of an upcoming flight (sadly my Spanish is non-existent).
Overall, a little pricey but the service was attentive. Neighborhood is desirable for restaurants and bars, though not much in the immediate area as this hotel has a residential feel to the environs.
