We stayed here while we were in town for the Matt Mathews show. The hotel is beautiful and the staff were so nice. They were short staffed but man you wouldn't know it by the way they were running around, nice and respectful! Our room was so cute and just what we needed. Nothing super over the top but very modern and cute for just my husband and I. We didn't get to try the resturant inside but the menu looked good! A great place to stay for just me and my husband:) will stay here again!

**5-Star Review for Magnolia Hotel** My stay at the Magnolia Hotel was absolutely perfect! The hotel was gorgeous and stunning from the moment I walked in. Everything was *extremely clean*—even the lobby floors were shining, despite the recent snowfall outside. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home. The bed was so comfortable, I had one of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time. I also loved that the hotel is pet-friendly—it made traveling with my furry companion so much easier and more enjoyable! I can’t recommend Magnolia Hotel enough. I’d go back a hundred times without hesitation. Thank you for such an exceptional experience!

We just finished our first stay and this is easily one of my favorite hotels. Small, pet friendly, great location, easy parking in their private lot, and the exercise room is so nice. We could walk to anywhere we wanted downtown. It has a nice restaurantwe had breakfast at and it was good. The beds were comfy and rooms were nice. Very neat, old hotel. Will be my go to stay in Downtown Omaha.

From food presentation to the taste of each ingredient. Our time spent at Olive & Ira’s was wonderful. After a long day of multiple flights it was a breath a balm to have hot delicious food during this cold season. My smash burger and sweet potato mash was hearty and savory down to the last bite. That was followed with a fabulous Banana Bread Pudding topped with bacon and caramel sauce & vanilla bean ice cream that genuinely made me leave my compliments to the sous chef. The cherry on top of the evening was having Kyle as our waiter and cocktail curator. Kyle had such a warm and inviting deposition. A sincere knowledge of what to encourage guests to indulge in and attentive with so much care! The cocktails Kyle created were absolutely delightful and most definitely delicious. Thank you for making my first time in Omaha a memorable one!

Always a pleasant stay here. Midwest nice is a real thing. Each and every staff member sincerely engaged with us as individuals. Clean room, convenient location. In-house restaurant / bar serves delicious food, although their menu is small. We stay here every trip to Omaha.

Google
It’s such a sweet place to stay. Nice accoutrements and little details that make it feel special- cookies and milk, a nice bar and restaurant downstairs where Kyle is sure to take great care of you, a decent gym, and a few blocks from good restaurants. We’ll definitely stay here again.

Just had a delicious dinner here after a long travel day. Our waiter Kyle couldn’t have been lovelier - helpful and kind and knowledgeable. The food was wonderful as was the ambience. My room here at the Magnolia is also top notch. Looking forward to the week here and returning to the restaurant - and I hope Kyle will be working!

Outstanding on every level. Very cool aesthetics, impeccably clean, service was fantastic and friendly. Room was standard double queen, but a bit larger than average. Walking distance from about anything. Amazing value for last minute during Thanksgiving week. We'll look here first every time we return to Omaha.

Yelp
Checked in so late the next day from our original, lovely Delta maintenance issues. The courtyard is nice. It looks like a world cool hotel. It's not in the nicest part of downtown though. The room is nice. Bed sheets aren't so nice and soft or silky at all. Would have been nice if the bathroom wasn't right next to the bed. Although it's nice to have a full kitchen, doesn't do much good not having any cooking utensils, bowls or silverware at all. Our second room is bigger, but now we have stairs to get to the second floor bathroom and bedroom. Every inch of the first floor creaks at every step. The bed is a queen instead of the king bed I had booked. The bathroom is smaller and has no sink counter space and the smell of sewage comes into the bathroom every time you flush the toilet. We didn't want to move again, since this is the second time this week we have had to move rooms due to an issue. It's not fun having to pack up everything and unpack twice in a hotel. $30/day for self parking. The gated parking lot is convenient, you can get it Valeted as well, for a little more. The neighborhood is so-so, a lot of vacant buildings nearby and some less than desirable folks hanging out close by. We mostly opted for drive everywhere around us.

Yelp
We stayed here in early August for 3 days and 4 nights. I would not book this hotel again if we returned to Omaha. Location: Location is good. Walking distance to The Old Market which has lots of shopping, dining, and bars. Internet: Internet is terrible. We checked in on the last day of the month and were there for three full days after that. The front desk gave us the wifi code, but neglected to tell us that it changes on the first of each month so on our first full day, we couldn't figure out why the password was no longer working and had to go ask the front desk if there was an issue with the wifi. The same girl who checked us in the day before, told us the password changes the first of the month, information she should have already provided us upon checkin. I needed to be able to work remotely while I was there and was not able to. I would connect my work laptop to the internet and it would work for about 15 minutes before it dropped off and wouldn't reconnect again. As a result, I didn't meet my required hours for work while I was there. As for my phone, I just left wifi off on my phone as it was faster to use the phone without their wifi. Hotel: It's a historic building with some of its original details which is nice and has been updated. Rooms are fairly small. AC worked well. The shower is super funky and has a really large step up/down (around a good 10") that felt really unsafe. The sink drained really slowly which was gross. The bathroom has really cheap bath products. The bathroom has one of those awful barn doors that offer only visual privacy and not noise privacy, but it didn't offer much visual privacy either. It was so heavy and the handle is in a shape that, if I closed the door all the way, I couldn't get back out! I had to have my husband come open the door from the outside of the bathroom. I had to leave it cracked each time I used it. Parking: They have a gated parking lot in the back which is nice, but they charge you $24 a night to self park which is really high. We had to do it because we couldn't find alternatives in the area other than meter parking which, according to the front desk, you have to renew every three hours via an app which would have been a pain to remember. Noise. We were on the second floor facing the front street. We didn't really hear any street noise. There weren't a lot of people staying at the hotel so it was quiet on all nights until our last night. Our last night was a Saturday night and several people had checked in that day. They all got in very late. The doors to the rooms don't have soft closing so they slam unless people take caution to close them gently so from about midnight to 1:30am it was a cacophony of constant slamming doors and sex noises through thin neighboring walls. Information: It's hard to know any specifics about amenities. There is no information available in rooms at all. No printed information and no QC code linking you to information and none of the specifics on the internet. Apparently they offered room service, but I'm not sure how you would know you could order or what you could order as there was no menu. There was no information on where to find the ice machine, the microwave, or the vending machines (all on different floors by the way). No information on the restaurant's hours for each meal service. No menu for the restaurant (except in the lobby, but it didn't have hours listed on it). They set out cookies every night but there's no information on that (it's 8pm which is oddly late in my opinion). There are definitely better places to stay if you're considering an overnight in Omaha.

Rachel C.

Yelp
Wow this place is super cute, and at times the decor, and the art deco design of the building, turns from just "super cute" to absolutely stunning! Truly, I've never stayed in a hotel like this before that has actual character and isn't just another chain hotel, and I can't recommend this place enough! Plus the restaurant in here has pretty good food too

Michael G.

Yelp
On my first visit to Omaha, I stayed at the Magnolia and was blown away with how gorgeous of a hotel this is. There really isn't bells and whistles but it really is such a beautiful space. It's decorated well and definitely feels like a boutique hotel. There's a shuttle to and from the airport and employees that operate the shuttle and work at the hotel are super friendly. Will definitely make it a point to stay at this gorgeous space when visiting this awesome city again.

Daryl M.

Yelp
If you like old and quirky, this place might be for you. Personally, I like my rooms a little bit more modern. There's really nothing wrong with this place, it's just not what I prefer in a hotel room. As far as the bar/restaurant goes if you like Tom Collins and Bush light and chicken wings then you'll be fine if you want anything a little fancier stay somewhere else. I will say the service at this hotel is absolutely phenomenal for that. I give 10 stars..

Yelp
I would recommend not claiming this hotel to be "pet friendly". My boyfriend and I came to Omaha for one night, we brought my dog with as the hotel stated they are PET FRIENDLY. We arrive to our room, change quick, & head out the door. No more than 10 minutes later we receive a call that my dog is barking too loud and "disturbing guests". This then resulted in myself having an anxiety attack & trying to figure out what we do next as we were told we can't leave the pet unattended in the room? ok. ALSO. Check in wasn't until 4 ... I called once to see if we could check in earlier. I was told it can't be promised but they will make a note in my booking and let me know as time goes on. Okay, so I called the day before we left, & was told I needed to call the day of when they'd have a better idea if we could check in early or not? SO, I call AGAIN the day we check in & was told we could arrive any time. This obviously messed with our plans though because we didn't know what time we could leave our home in Des Moines as we didn't know if we could check in early or not until the day of!!!! The gentleman who checked us in almost didn't even let us check in early either as he said we got there "way too early for check in". This was our first & only time going to this hotel.

Yelp
I visited the restaurant in the Magnolia for brunch/lunch today with friends. They have a breakfast and brunch menu on their website, but don't make it clear when that ends on weekends, so when we arrived at 11am it was a lunch menu only. Kind of disappointing, but there were some good options on there. We came in with a larger group, but were the only ones in the restaurant the entire morning and did not come close to filling the breakfast area. Still, the food took an extremely long time to come out, and I think it was easily over an hour. The server was great though and super friendly. I ordered the southwest chicken melt and while it was okay, I wouldn't order it again. I didn't really notice any of the listed ingredients on it, like it barely had avocado on it. There were large pieces of iceberg lettuce on it, which was wilty. The restaurant is super nice and has beautiful decor and furniture. Being such a nice place, I was really hoping that the food would be great to be a cool new brunch spot, but unfortunately I was very disappointed. While the food was okay, I just don't think I have reason to return, unless I want to spend all morning waiting for okayish food. Omaha has many great brunch places, so I would look elsewhere for that.

Yelp
Absolutely awful service. Tried to call to book a reservation and check in early, but no. Next.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible experience ever! Being a self called 4 stars hotel, it does not has the services like it suppose to. A 4 STARS HOTEL, with only 1 towel! A 4 stars hotel with a 2Mbps internet, slower than using a 3g mobile Hotspot, even worse, it was not available half of the time I stayed here. Btw, I stayed here 3 days, at the premier Loft, cost me $359 a night! It is not worth it, and would not recommend this hotel to anyone who planning to visit Omaha! Disappointed...

Kelsea S.

Yelp
Requested my room to be serviced 3 times during a 2 week stay and no one ever came. Paper thin walls, can hear all neighbors within a three room radius.

Denise F.

Yelp
Beautiful building and courtyard. Room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant and bar menus had standard offerings and the food was good. The service, bartender, and front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. Hotel is near but not in Old Msrket, the active part of downtown. I would stay there again when in Omaha.

Richard G.

Yelp
Way bigger then I expected and since Ryan trahan. Stayed here five stars so me happy honestly wish I could meet him

Leah L.

Yelp
someone was in my hotel room. that wasn't nice I think it was a ghost overall scary..

Yelp
My partner and I decided to book at Magnolia Hotel due to it's aesthetics and to explore the downtown and Old Market area. Before booking our stay, we read through all of the pet policy information we could find on their website. We had high expectations for our stay, especially since it was noted as pet friendly without an additional fee. However, when we arrived to check-in, we had to sign a contract for our pet that specified we could not leave our pet unattended in the hotel room. We found nothing on their website that said anything about not being able to leave pets unattended. To avoid the potential of getting the minimum fee of $400, we had to find room and board for our pet elsewhere (not what we preferred to do). The hotel's claim of "pet friendly" is misleading and something we have never run into elsewhere. The room itself, while nice, did not appear to have been cleaned. There was some hair in the shower/tub and food/random debris under the bed and some of the furniture.

Diante P.

Yelp
You do not want to work at this horribly ran hotel. The cooks argue and won't make your food ,the restaurant managers talk to you like you are a slave and you don't make good money Take My Advice and STAY FAR AWAY..It was the most disrespectful place I have ever worked

Rachael K.

Yelp
I had stayed here before and loved it but this time was a major disappointment. They were crazy understaffed and the room we had was not great. Instead of a proper bathroom door, it has one of those terrible "barn doors." When it was closed there was still a huge gap, so there really was no privacy. There was mold growing in the shower. When I pointed these issues out to the front desk the answer was "Yeah, we get lots of complaints about the doors." I would not recommend staying here for the price.

Curtis C.

Yelp
Kiki is such a great, positive, efficient server who is also a great ambassador for Omaha! She was attentive, although busy, while continuously to have great humor and focus on her clientele. Thank you, Magnolia and bar rep Jon!

Melba T.

Yelp
Not sure about the low reviews, but our brief stay was fabulous. We were thrilled with the gated free parking. The hotel is lovely- unique and maintained well. Check in took a few seconds then we were off to the 3rd floor to our room. Our room had high ceilings, neat artwork on the walls, a great view, and a spacious bathroom. Hubby forgot his toothbrush and front desk graciously provided one free of charge. We had plenty of towels, washcloths, and toiletries provided, as well as a hair dryer if needed. We felt safe at this hotel and would surely stay again. We didn't dine in at the floor level restaurant only because time did not permit. If you stay, KEEP YOUR ROOM KEY as you'll need it to unlock the gate to leave the parking lot!

Angela K.

Yelp
I stayed at Magnolia Hotel Omaha for one night and it was a nightmare. There were bugs in the shower drain and when I complained to the staff, they told me it was an old building and they couldn't do anything to fix it. I have videos of the bugs crawling out of the drain. The next morning, the fire alarm went off at 5:30 am due to an electrical fire and we had to evacuate the building in the cold. The hotel offered us a free breakfast as compensation, but it took 20 minutes to get beverage service and 45 minutes to get cold food. The food also gave us upset stomachs and we had to stop at three rest areas in one hour's drive. This was the worst hotel experience I ever had and I do not recommend staying here.

J P.

Yelp
This review is for the restaurant on a Thursday evening there were 2 people serving/ 1 server 1 bartender. The service and food were terrible flavorless lukewarm and thats putting it graciously and not worth the 27$ (salmon meal) price tag. After having a bite i decided id just do a 16$ salad trying not to be trouble i said i would pay the price of the salmon still id just like the 16$ salad instead. That was such a horrid ordeal i left with the meal cancelled the salad im sure to the servers delight ( his words were you just dont like the taste so what do you want me to do) i said so you would like me to pay for both meals....i then said nevermind and went to my room and looked forward to breakfast away from this hotel. I also still tipped

Dan S.

Yelp
Reserved 2 separate rooms for my family: For the First Room: There was an old/used/not cleaned towel in the room upon checkin - staff was notified and it was not removed. Also, there was no soap was in the shower, one of the disposable toothbrush given was taken after the first day (and not replaced) even though the stay was longer than 1 day. For the Second Room: A lot of confusion with the wake up call. My parents had an early flight so they requested a 3AM wakeup and a 330AM Shuttle. While luckily they got up without the 3AM wakeup, when they went to confirm the shuttle was coming and inquire about the wakeup, they were told the person noted 330AM wakeup and 330AM shuttle - doesn't make any sense for someone to write this for the same room number.

Cheryl L.

Yelp
Our pups completely chilled out at this hotel. Only here for a night, but certainly appreciated the large, quiet, & comfortable room. The bartender was super nice, providing a top of the line Old Fashioned right as she was closing up. Planning on staying here on our next trip to Omaha.

Kevin S.

Yelp
This hotel is housed in an absolute architectural gem but I'm here during the supposed end of the pandemic so there are no pens or paper, they don't clean the room or give you fresh towels or sheets etc. I'm giving 5 stars anyway assuming they go back to normal soon because I think this is the best place to stay in Omaha. The courtyard is architecturally stunning and the location is perfect. You can walk to the Old Market in five minutes, the Orpheum is right around the corner, and the stadium is walkable but quite a bit further. There's a nice bar off the lobby that serves food and a hipster cafe right around the corner. As a matter of fact, if you're hungry there are lots of options nearby, including delis (generic not Jewish) and hipster cafes are everywhere in downtown Omaha. Soundproofing between rooms is excellent as expected for an old building. The hallways and elevators are a bit tired but the rooms are nice and the beds are great. There's a workout room but no pool. As stated before, the courtyard is beautiful and a great place to relax outside. The outdoor furniture is new and the total area is squeaky clean. They offer complimentary real coffee from an urn and energy bars in the lobby if you want to skip breakfast. If you're coming here to get to know Omaha, this has to be one of the best options and it's moderately priced to boot. Unlike many hotels who don't man the front desk consistently "because of COVID" the Magnolia is fully staffed with pleasant friendly people, because after all, it's Omaha. Highly recommended!

Doug C.

Yelp
This is a terrific hotel. The staff is awesome and the rooms and public areas get two thumbs up from me. The rooms, though generally smaller than average, are what you might expect in a boutique property and well maintained. The beds are comfortable (note to management: guests should be able to request firmer pillows; not everyone likes "fluffy") the amenities are standard and the drapes actually block about 90 percent of the outside light. The rooms are well soundproofed, too; unless children are playing right outside your door, you'll sleep well. The bathrooms have a couple of drawbacks, one serious and one to be expected: water pressure sucks. While that's an irritation at least the hot water is hot enough. The problem with the shower-only rooms is the awkward step access to the shower that could be an accident waiting to happen. One of the best features of The Magnolia is the bar-lounge. It's small but comfortable and includes an outdoor seating area. The inside features "real" (those that are actually designed for sitting and conversation or reading, not just to please an architectural student) easy chairs and a fireplace. The bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable about the city (and Huskers football!) and efficient. If you linger in the lounge until 8 in the evening, you can also avail yourself of milk and cookies. The lounge (actually the hotel itself) is also dog-friendly. I didn't have time to try the exercise facilities located in the basement and chose to dine elsewhere (Omaha's lively Old Market is just a couple of blocks away) but will certainly sample both on my next visit. Oh yes, I plan to return. Eagerly.

S. J.

Yelp
I don't get the hype on this one. The one time I don't do my research, I paid for it. Literally and figuratively. Was looking for a "me time" weekend that was much deserved after some extensive hard work. Saw the Magnolia online and it seemed beautiful. Treated myself to the king flat, which, especially at $300 per night on the off season, was immediately a joke upon entry. Very sterile for the hefty price tag. Nothing super fancy, it's just that your bed was up a flight of stairs. The walls were paper thin and I was clearly next door with a family with a baby (I get it, I'm a mom of two littles, but had I known it was possible I'd hear the family all night, I'd have chosen something somewhere else little more relaxing). The fixtures, carpet, and paint were worn and/or painted over instead of being replaced, and the bathroom was small and dim, as was the rest of the sleeping area. Definitely should have read the negative reviews. I'm super disappointed, but I guess I'll chalk it up to a lesson learned :(

Pam S.

Yelp
I can only review the restaurant here-The District is a great place to eat before a show at the Orpheum! It definitely has a nice feeling walking inside with tall ceilings, plenty of seating, and a cool vibe décor. We made happy hour, which goes til 6p.m. that has $4beer, $6wine & $5wells! Some teezers: chicken wings, egg rolls, chips & salsa all 1/2 price! The drinks were good & Santa Fe fried egg rolls came out stuffed with spicy chicken, peppers, black beans, onions & cheese-side of sour cream & salsa! Definitely order that again! Off happy hour there's amazing cocktail mixtures for $10. Nice range of all liquors! There's a large variety of wine at reasonable prices & even a single malt scotch list to choose from! I tried the Chocolate mint martini-Delicious! Although I did notice the martini glasses are not filled up as hi as I like them...which is to the top, just don't short change me by an inch where the most volume is at!!!! For dinner I had the shrimp flour tacos $11-both tacos had 3 jumbo shrimp with teriyaki sauce & pineapple slaw-it was perfect with a side salad $5. I 'd order both again. There's a few other items I'd like to try like Winter Squash & Chicken Caprese! I do look forward to going back!!!

Michelle N.

Yelp
This hotel is outstanding! so pet friendly! The food (especially the steak) was delicious! Staff couldn't have been nicer! Would stay here again!

Yelp
This review is based purely on the fact my sister had her wedding here. The rooms were beautiful and well taken care of. The hotel was beautiful, but for an event like a wedding, steer clear. The event coordinators were great, but notice how there was more than one. Within a year, we went through THREE different event planners because they couldn't keep up with the quota the Magnolia's corporation had set in place. The hardest part was that the event coordinator that left did not relay to the new one replacing them with clients, so we often found ourselves reiterating what we had discussed multiple times. It made the service feel really unreliable and frustrating. If one event coordinator said that such and such was ok, the next one would say it wasn't. So we'd have planned for what the first planner had mentioned only to have it messed up by the one that came in. There was an immense amount of miscommunication between management and its event coordinators. The coordinators had no responsibility so there was a lot of, "well...I'll have to see" or "oh, I'll have to check with managers (who were usually out of town)". I don't blame the event coordinators at all because no one was helping them and I really think that hurts their chances of securing more weddings in the future. The last issue was probably the biggest. In July 2021, Magnolia experienced flooding that wiped out the bottom floor. We were told that it would be cleaned up and we could have our assigned rooms by the wedding in October 2021. We went to do a final check of the venue and NOTHING was fixed. Their solution was to put black tarp with painter's tape over the walls. For as much as we were spending, it was absolutely unacceptable and made the venue look horrendous. We changed our rooms, but there was no compensation or forewarning, so management didn't care about the wedding. All in all, I would be cautious about booking the Magnolia for a wedding. The staff is great, the food for the wedding was phenomenal, but with it being so inconsistent I wouldn't recommend it.

Jenni S.

Yelp
This place had a pretty cool look/feel to it. It had an older design, which feels rare with all the new boutique hotels out there. The room was a great size and included a large bathtub. They were dog friendly which was great but when we got to the room our dogs kept finding old dog food hidden under furniture which was concerning since it felt like they hadn't cleaned very thoroughly. I wish they had some "dog" touches since they're a dog friendly hotel like having a water/food bowl.. . maybe that would have helped with the past guest and the dog food issue. Also the room had no fridge which meant we couldn't have cold water in the morning and also the ice machine was only on the 2nd floor which was a bit of a hike from our room.

Kensly W.

Yelp
We had to stay at this hotel for a wedding. The staff was very nice upon arrival. When we arrived into our room it became VERY CLEAR that they did not wash the comforters between guests. There was dried snot with blood on the comforter before I stayed. I went to the front desk and they were apologetic and did replace all linens in room. Although no discount was offered. Next, I dropped my car off at valet Friday night. When I picked up on Saturday there was significant damage to my car. I reported it right away and they filed the claim with insurance. When they filed it with insurance they denied the claim because the valet driver said that they didn't do any damage. Again, I called the hotel asking for some type of refund or compensation and they again refused. There are no other parking option other than valet otherwise I just would have parked my car myself isntead of paying over 20$/day for them to damage my car. The hotel is over priced in general. I would have much rather stayed at the Mariott another hotel downtown for half the price and likely better service and cleanliness. For what is suppsoed to be a nice hotel they limit how much you can control the AC in room and it was very warm in our room and we were unable to turn the AC as low as we would have liked it as well. The hotel staff themself were very friendly.

Patrick T.

Yelp
I really dig old school hotel thats they have redone in a modern European style. My room was perfect for solo traveling. Not tiny but not big enough to want to make a mess! The bathroom and shower was fancy pants and the best was very comfortable. I was a little bummed you could only Valet park on premise but hey you are in the downtown of a city so I get it! The hotel bar was nice and the restaurant was nice and the coffee was decent in the morning! If you want to stay close to the Orpheum you are within steps of it and or lots of shopping in the old market are a hop skip away.. this is a killer spot to stay in Omaha!

Erin J.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. Gone are the days of free social hour and warm chocolate chip cookies and milk at night. Checking in took over 15 minutes with one man working with zero help. Valet parking is a joke so if you go that route, be prepared to wait. We checked in to a king corner suite and swiftly walked out. The room was filthy with hair in the sink and a dirty bed. No one answered the front desk phone so we had to call guest services. The hotel "upgraded" our room to a king loft suite. It was cleaner but not by much. The bathroom upstairs was awful and not conducive to getting ready with two people. There was glitter in the rug and it was super noisy since it's just off the main hallway. No shuttle service and very poor customer service in the restaurant. Super disappointing experience.

Yelp
Let me first start by saying that we've stayed here almost every year on our anniversary. The previous time to this, we had the experience of moving rooms 3-4 times on account of the rooms not being clean (blood, hair, stains etc). We were willing to give it another chance, since we had good experiences prior to that. Oh but this time. The room we were provided was a handi-cap accessible room. We are not handi-capped. It's unfortnate to say that we look forward to a nice room and bathroom and instead were received by a basic room (which is unfortunate for those who ARE handicapped) and a lackluster bathroom with a sink that was constantly filling up and not draining. But the best/worst part, is after having gone to sleep and waking up the next morning to leave early, unlike other times where we ask for late check out to enjoy our time. I toss the bedding aside to get out of bed and at the foot of the bed there is a nice dried blood stain and NOT mine! I immediately grabbed my partner, our things and we go to check out. Only to be rushed thru check out and not given the chance to let the receptionist know what happened first thing or show her the pictures I had taken. I let her know after she'd checked us out and was rushing us off. All she could say oh I'm so sorry I made a note on your account for you. Miss, I'm sorry. Do you think that we are ever coming back here again? This visit was so disappointing considering that in our eyes it was once one of the nices boutique hotels in Omaha.

Yelp
We love this place. For the last 3 years, we've stayed here for both the beginning and end of our trek to Norfolk to see family. The staff is great. Shoutout to the check in staff on both days as well as Susie and Chris in the bar. Excellent people. Period. Thanks for the hospitality. Also. Don't miss the ambiance that this place holds. Take a few minutes to walk around and look at the details that this old jewel holds. Amazing.

Yelp
Surprisingly gross. As someone born & raised in Omaha, I had very high hopes for this hotel to be exactly what I was needing when it came to a self-care staycation. The reality is, however, that despite this being a 4 Star hotel the rooms are outdated beyond belief and generally dirty. Like, a GROSS level of dirty. Used tissues under the desk, dried pop or a similar substance on the drawers, bundles of black hair on the bathroom floor (I have red hair) and a general gross smell in the bathroom (have you ever run a load of laundry and forgotten it for a few days? Thats how the bathrooms smell). As for the rooms amenities, and maybe this is specific to room 439, but there is one tiny window, a poorly draining shower and a warm refrigerator. As for the TV - holy smokes. As a child of the 90's who has stayed in many a hotel, I thought the days of tiny pixelated TV's & those hotel "rent a movie" splash pages were done. Not the case - they are alive and well at the Magnolia. The remote is aged, sticky and unresponsive. The TV does not have any modern inputs, and actually still offers an "adults section" for movie rentals. No modern channels, no modern amenities. Room service told me food would take 15-20, they showed up over an hr later with an overcooked steak and a bill that, $4 delivery fee aside, was $40 more than the advertised price. No literature in the room regarding the neighborhood or the hotel itself. Honestly, this place is a total dump. No ice machines, just a chest freezer with ziplocks full of old ice. A rickety and noisy elevator whose doors slam shut so fact I saw one person almost lose a finger. I was trying to decide between the Peregrine & the Magnolia and holy lord, I could not have chosen more incorrectly. This hotel is an absolute disgusting dive, like a cheap motel but with regular hotel prices. -10/10 experience - stay away from this dump.

Yelp
I dunno what it is about Omaha (or possibly certain other states besides Nebraska) but food and booze here must be insanely cheap. They have beer + wine every evening from 1730-1830. Yes, OPEN BAR. Then they have milk + cookies 2030-2200. Oh, and free breakfast buffet (0600-0900 on weekdays, 0700-1000 on weekends). My room was pretty creaky (this place has been open since 1923 after all), but it has obviously been renovated. Oh, every room has Internet, but they're in the process of adding Wi-Fi. Should be done by the end of 2011. One last thing: there is a free downtown shuttle anytime. This is crazy useful if you work nearby. They go to the airport (Eppley Field) too. I have gotten stuffed and plastered for free every night I have stayed here. Now I can see why other stars such as Lady Gaga like to stay here. It really doesn't get better than this.

Yelp
Let's start with the positives: -I got to play my favorite game: "Who's hair is this?" as soon as we arrived. -Staying at a hotel, I thought I wouldn't get to clean. Boy was I wrong. Lots of cleaning opportunities here! Good thing I remembered my Lysol wipes! Pictures of my 'cleaning opportunities' below. -I was missing my dog and his normal 1 and 3 am wake-up calls. Thankfully, David the dog (from the next room, I'm assuming) woke us up at those exact times. -I haven't lived in the city for several years so I miss the excitement of hearing sirens throughout the night. I got to hear them allll through the night. -I was really feeling like our room was too private. Lucky for me, I could hear David the dog's dad pee a couple times in the next room. Good job staying hydrated David's dad-you've got a nice steady stream! Negatives: I really thought I was taking my family to a "luxury hotel." Ummmm nope. Also, parking - street only unless you plan on paying for the valet. Seriously, find somewhere else, literally anywhere else, to stay.

Yelp
My husband I were married here 10 years ago so this hotel will always be special to me. The outdoor courtyard is what sold us on the location. It really is beautiful and unique to anything else we came across. The layout, with an open walkway overlooking the courtyard that comes out of a two story suite makes for a nice entrance to the wedding ceremony. Over the years we have returned for misc. events or to celebrate anniversaries and the hotel still maintains so much charm. The space is nearly 100 years old so it offers some unique architectural appeal. Some of the furniture is starting to show a bit of wear and tear but whether you are looking for a hotel or a wedding event space, this is a great spot.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel located conveniently in downtown area. We got the queen loft and loved it. Very spacious and nicely decorated. Had a nice view of the courtyard. Perfect place to relax after a long day and makes you feel more at home then just a hotel room. Thank you for the accommodations

Yelp
We were in Omaha for a couple of days with wife and my little one for a Creighton graduation ceremony. We chose the Magnolia because we love boutique hotels and were encouraged by the good reviews on Yelp and other online travel websites. This is a charming boutique hotel in an excellent location. The staff is great, very helpful, and always friendly. The hotel also offers amazing value! From check-in, to the warm cookies at night and the hot breakfast in the morning, We booked a Queen Suite with a baby crib at this hotel for a couple of days. Our room was clean and comfortable, and they had the baby crib set up when we checked-in. The hotel is beautifully decorated, occupying an old office building with art deco elevators. It's also within walking distance to most of downtown Omaha. They also have great valet, an airport shuttle, and offer rental bikes from the lobby for $10 an hour or $30 for the whole day The prices were competitive compared to the other hotels in the area, plus the internet was included, breakfast was included, happy hour wine or beer and milk and cookies at the end of the day. The only negative (-1 star) is that the rooms are not sound proof. I could hear doors slamming all night long, hallway conversations, and at one time I could hear my kid crying in our room when I had stepped out to go grab breakfast for my wife almost 50 feet away near the elevators...and our room door was closed! Overall, great experience at this hotel. If you like boutique hotels then this is for you.

Yelp
The hotel itself was nice and convenient. The front desk staff when I stayed there was really nice and helpful as well. If that were all, I would have given it 5 stars, BUT the issues unrelated to my actual stay there have been a nightmare. I booked through Airbnb, which, if you mention to the hotel at all, they act like they don't even have an account on there or any control over their bookings. They couldn't find my reservation at all the first time I called them, which was terrifying as all other hotels were booked at the time. Initially, I had booked for an extra day, but decided to adjust my reservation within the allotted timeframe to do so with no penalty on Airbnb. The hotel never responded to me, as they don't seem to check their messages on the account at all. However, I called the hotel and confirmed that my change was made accordingly over the phone. After my stay, Airbnb did not reflect that one night had been removed, and when I contacted Airbnb, they said they had no control over what the hotel was charging me and nothing on their end showing that it should be adjusted. I called the hotel, and after a long conversation with them, they confirmed that they would be refunding me through Airbnb for the night. I ended up only receiving a portion of the night back, but I assumed this was correct based on valet parking and hotel incidental charges. After receiving the Airbnb refund, I noticed that another credit card of mine ( the one I put down for incidentals) had been charged $1421.51 for the stay as well. This made no sense since I'd paid for everything through Airbnb on a different card. I called the hotel and spoke with a pleasant woman who assured me that this was entirely incorrect and a mistake on their part and she would have the team refund the entire amount back on my card ASAP. However, I was not refunded the entire amount. When I called back, multiple times, I was given a different story each time as to why I was not refunded the entire amount. In fact, as I was on the phone, the story kept changing, sometimes to say that I was initially refunded right after my stay and definitely for the full amount, and also the full amount for the night I did not stay was sent back to Airbnb, which was not correct. For the most part, they either hang up on me or say they will call back and don't, and then I have to call back and go through the entire process again. I still have not received the full amount that was overcharged to me back, and for some reason, they cannot seem to understand how overcharging someone and keeping over $1400 of their money for over a month is a huge deal and not an acceptable business practice. I would not recommend staying here ever, which is unfortunate because some of the staff was very nice.

Yelp
There are a lot of things the Magnolia Omaha does right, but there are too many things that need work. So, we arrive at an "A-OK" review.... I arrived for my check in around 3:45 in the afternoon. There was no one out front. I wasn't even sure I was at the right entrance, so I called the hotel. I confirmed that they do have valet parking ($19/day) and there was no bellman to help with luggage. But, they had the rolling luggage racks for you to use. So, I just left my car there and went inside to check in. The woman at check in was very friendly, and the process was quick. I went upstairs to my room, which wasn't small, but certainly a bit cramped. The bathroom was worse regarding size. The shower was fantastic. It gets very hot, has great pressure, and was very high on the wall. It was small and the shower curtain didn't keep in all of the water, but the shower itself was above average for a hotel. The bed was also above average. Soft, but not so soft that your back will hurt in the morning. Very comfortable bed. The AC was responsive and the room stayed at the temperature to which the AC was set. Too many hotel rooms allow you to set the temperature to 66 but it never gets below 70 or 71. Not the Magnolia Omaha. The walls were very thin. I could hear conversations, not murmurs or whispers, but actually hear what people were saying, during the evening at the Magnolia. I don't know if my neighbors were very loud, I suppose that's a possibility. The wi-fi was really spotty. It would typically only work well after 6 pm. I'm not just talking about streaming video, sometimes page loads didn't complete. Very frustrating. But, as it's free, I suppose you get what you pay for. Magnolia offers a free cocktail hour from 5:30 - 6:30 with house wine and Bud/Coors Light. Additionally, they offer the milk and cookies from 8 - 10 pm. Overall, the bar (which is either called The Lounge or the Aquila Grill) is fine. It's large with plenty of seating, and a decent drink selection. Prices were commensurate with what you'd expect to pay at a downtown hotel. The hotel is close (a few blocks) to the Old Market district and is within walking distance of several restaurants. But, if you don't feel like walking, The Magnolia offers a shuttle (a Suburban) for its guests for free (but always remember to tip!). I used it several times and I really only had to wait once. Pretty good service, and I heard one of the drivers mentioning he had to go to the airport, so if you are flying into Omaha and staying at the Magnolia, you've got a free ride to your hotel. I had a discount on my room stay due to the work I was doing while in town. I don't know the Magnolia's typical rates, but I felt what I paid was reasonable for what I received. I would return to the Magnolia on a future Omaha trip, but I might look into other options first.

Yelp
How the Magnolia Hotel got a 94% on Hotels Tonight is questionable. Yes I checked in around midnight after a red eye flight, but for the staff to act as if I were doing them a disfavor by using their hotel was unappealing at best. An old hotel does not mean an unkept, musty and in need of renovation hotel. The quaint vibe is eminent, but so is the carpet that must be replaced. All a shame because the room was quite nice. Though to this day I don't understand why the room keeper decided to make my bed by stacking the pillows on the chair by it. Hell, it was comic relief for the day.

Yelp
Do not stay here, do not waste your money!! After driving for over 14 hours, we finally arrived at the hotel to find the doors locked. We rang the doorbell and waited for 20 minutes for an unmasked employee to let us in. When she saw us wearing our masks she gawked at us, not taking into consideration that we are in the middle of a pandemic. When she asked if we would like valet parking for $23, we said no bc of the coronavirus, and she started to laugh. She seemed stressed and bothered that we were checking in. After getting to our room on the 4th floor, we opened the door and it felt like a sauna. The a/c was set at 68 but it stayed 77 in the room the entire not, very hot, not comfortable to sleep in. To make matters worse, walls are paper thin so you can hear EVERYTHING. Our neighbors were partying and having loud sex and we heard every little detail. We ended up not going to sleep until after 6am and woke up at 10 to leave. Bedsheets smelled like cigarettes and were itchy. Bathroom was gross, towels had stains on them, bathroom door was broken. This place looks charming from the picture posted but looks can be deceiving. We paid $150 for a room and from the beginning I regretted paying that much for such a bad experience. Please do not waste your money on this place!!

Yelp
Beautiful looking from the outside but for a boutique hotel needs help. The phone in our room did not work, could not pick up messages, the bathroom was not cleaned, literally dust was on the floor, could not adjust the room temperature in the room. They stopped having coffee available after 7:30 am, come on for a hotel like this coffee should be available 24/7! On the other hand location was great and building beautiful

Yelp
Truly disrespectful staff interactions. The hotel itself looks like it could be a really nice experience, but whoever is running this place has no idea how to help guests feel safe and comfortable.

Yelp
The hotel here is a tremendous value and a luxurious place to stay . More amenities than resorts and hotels at twice the cost
