I had a great experience at this bar. The staff were very attentive and made sure we were well looked after throughout the night. I really loved the vibe of the place—relaxed but lively, making it perfect for both casual drinks and a night out. They offer tap beers and a solid selection of classic cocktails, all at reasonable prices. The location is also perfect, making it an easy and convenient spot to visit. Overall, definitely a place I’d come back to and recommend.

Went here for the NYE celebration and was extremely disappointed with all aspects. We bought silver passes which we collected at the door which allowed upstairs access. Drinks upstairs were watered down and after having 3 vodka orange juices felt not a lick of alcohol in my system, bar down stairs had extremely rude staff (yes we get its busy but no need to snap at people paying $60 each to be there) and had even more limits on what you could get, not even a simple soft drink and spirit mix. Upstairs my partner was half way through a beer and turned his back to look at the band for what would have been 5 seconds max (back still touching the table in uncrowded upstairs place) and staff took it and walked off quickly before he could flag them down. After spending 2 hours (8pm-10pm) we decided to go somewhere else before midnight to try and get atleast a buzz so headed to another pub down the street, we came back for the countdown and were in the club area. After I decided I needed to go to the toliet, in which there are none in the silver area in which we paid extra for so we went to the porta loos set up outside, as you can imagine by this time (1am) they were not in the best condition so mistakenly I asked my partner to come in with me to hold my things, as there was no surface that would be free from alcohol or urine in there. Once we both stepped out we were met by two security guys who informed us we were being kicked out. I understand the concern of how it looks from a security standpoint point but there was no line to the loos and we were in there for max 30sec. After trying to explain the scenario they started swearing and pushing us out. I feel as though this scenario could have been delt with more professional, rather than security having a complex. We endend yp going back to the bar down the road for the rest of the night (we wish we had just done this from the start). Going here for New Years Eve was the biggest mistake and a complete waste of money not only on the $60 tickets per person but the watered down drinks too and the god complex all the staff seem to show. If you are coming to Airlie for a holiday and want a fun night out there are plenty of other fantastic bars on this street with wonderful staff and fantastic drinks!

I had an excellent four-night stay at this hotel in Airlie Beach and would absolutely return. The staff were genuinely amazing—friendly, proactive, and always willing to help. They made everything easy by recommending the best local activities and even organising shuttle transfers for me, which took all the stress out of planning my days. I stayed in a private room and was really impressed by how quiet it was. Even with the bar out the front, I couldn’t hear a thing once inside. It made for a super comfortable and peaceful sleep every night. For the price, the value is hard to beat. Clean rooms, great location, and service that goes above and beyond. If you’re looking for affordable accommodation in Airlie Beach that still delivers on comfort and hospitality, this place is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

No doubt that Magnums Hotel has one of the best locations that you could wish for at Airlie Beach. At the frontside there is one of the most popular bars, and many restaurants around. It is mainly a hostel, but at the backside they have a few bungalows which is what we opted for. The bungalows were very basic, and for the high price we paid a little bit too basic. A shame that there was no proper door to close the toilet and bathroom, which is not good for privacy. But in general our stay was ok.

Great place for backpackers. Don't expect 5 star luxury accommodation or service. But if you are on a budget then this place is value for money, centrally located, has a good vibe, and is clean and tidy. Highly recommended

Magnums Hotel is a lively and well-established bar that delivers a fun mix of entertainment, music, and drinks almost every day of the year – even on holidays – from 10:00 AM until 2:30 AM. It’s a great place to unwind, especially if you enjoy open-air party vibes mixed with a touch of Aussie charm. The layout is casual and social, with a smoking area in the front and non-smoking spaces in the back and sides, giving everyone a comfortable place to hang out. Most of the action is centred around the outdoor bar, where live music sets the mood. It’s an energetic yet laid-back scene that keeps people coming back. Inside, there’s more to explore: a gaming area (casino-style), a nightclub, and even a private bar upstairs. They keep the events fresh with special activities like the Sunday silent disco with headphones – definitely a fun surprise. If you're up for a bit of casual fun, there are pool tables outside too. While food isn’t the main attraction, they do have special offerings like the "grill your own burger" experience every Saturday from 5 to 8 PM, which adds a nice touch. Magnums also supports the Pink's charity project, which is cool to see, and they actively promote it. For locals, there’s even an app you can download for exclusive deals – handy if you’re a regular and getting a membership. Drink-wise, they’ve got a solid variety of beers and cocktails, available in schooners and pints. The service is self-serve, so you’ll need to grab your own spot and head to the bar for drinks, but the staff is friendly and always willing to help if needed. Security steps up around 8 PM with ID checks and photos for entry, which helps keep the vibe safe and comfortable for everyone. Overall, Magnums is a great spot to enjoy music, drinks, and a lively crowd. It’s not fancy – and it doesn’t try to be – but it nails the fun and casual pub experience with just enough extras to keep things interesting.

Charming place, surrounded by nature, very well located with a bar out front playing live music all day! VERY CLEAN shared spaces !! I think it would only need a common rest area with armchairs or a gallery

Luke was our bartender, he was honestly the best craic. Great to see so many Irish out here. Maybe the sexiest bar man I’ve seen since I’ve moved to Aus.

Yelp
After reading the online reviews about how amazing the cocktails are at this place, I walked past all the other bars and ordered a gin-based cocktail. It was totally clear from the outset though, that the Gen Y bartender had no clue how to make it. He looked at the cocktail menu when I placed my order! After some fanciful cocktail shaker jiggling, he poured the drink through a strainer, but hadn't made enough! Without asking me if I minded, he swung round, grabbed a can of red bull and topped the glass up! He then took the mixing straw out of the glass, licked it, said 'yum!' and did a disappearing act before I could tell him I can't drink red bull (or any other energy drink for that matter) due to them giving me heart palpitations. There was no decoration on the glass-no fruit or flowers etc-not even a straw to gracefully sip through. Just a plain old glass with a cocktail cheaply topped off with a cheap drink, because he couldn't be bothered to mix another. Crap. Totally crap customer service. I felt really ripped off - especially given the price of the cocktail...

Yelp
The 8 bed dorm is one of the worst pages you can ever stay. So messy. The bathrooms are dirty. When you shower it floods the whole bathroom getting the whole bathroom wet and nasty. There's bugs in the room, watch out for bed bugs. It's hot but they only turn on the AC two hours at a time. There are no locks in the room, this is terrible, someone could easily steal your belongings. I will never stay here again, this place is quite terrible. If you want to share a room with smelly backpackers, this is your place, but if you care about your health and hygiene, I would not recommend this place.

Yelp
I was less than impressed with this place, having stopped here midday for a quick drink and to watch sport on their giant TV screen. They boast a large outdoor area for daytime fun while the indoor stage and multi level is sure to be a hit for late nights. If you want a dive bar with cheap beer, and I mean, cheap beer and zero cocktails, then stop here. It's a backpackers delight and frat boys dream. Otherwise, there are better, cleaner places to go along the boardwalk.

Yelp
The drink specials here are just excellent, jugs start at $8-10 and cocktails at $5. Magnum's is most definitely the place to be for starting your night since a lot of people come through here for the affordable drinks. As far as atmosphere, it's mostly backpackers that are just coming through Airlie Beach and maybe a hint of locals in the area. There is a nightclub at Magnum's as well which is probably the biggest you'll find in the main town. I stayed in the hostel a few times also, an 8-share room gets you a basic room. I wish the rooms were a bit cleaner though and Magnum's is essentially a party hostel...but that's Airlie for you!

Yelp
The Backpakers Hostel is cool, stayed there 3 nights. Good facilities, clean, great WiFi area, that lets you meet with fellow travellers, BUT beware of the bar! We saw one of the security guards (bald headed guy with dark beard) slip something in some girls drink! Seriously, would not drink anything at that bar anymore!

Yelp
I stayed here several nights, in between I ve been to White Sunday Island. I had to put my luggages in the luggage room, so I went to the reception. The receptionist Mel served me after a long wait, I asked her to store my luggages, she told me to be back at 4 (8mins after). At 4 I was waiting again for paying 5$ and access this service. When she served me at 4.07 she told me I had to wait again until 5 as the luggage room opens for 1-2 mins only at certain times of the day only. When I told her I needed to go to my trip all she said was that she could refund me of my money. Like I should have put my luggages in a different hostel than the one I was staying in. Thankfully I haven't been waiting alone since other people aswell had the same treatment and risked to lose the white Sunday trip. An hostel is not supposed to be like Hilton hotel but common sense and logic would be appreciated.
