Great selection of books here for kids 0 and upwards. We wanted to get our toddler acquainted with Chinese and were really happy to find what we were looking for. The environment is calming and conducive for kids who are book lovers. The staff is really helpful as well, offering good suggestions and giving us space to make the decision. Best of all, they accept cdc vouchers!

This cozy bookstore not only sells a wide range of Chinese books, but also regularly hosts author sharing sessions where writers bring their stories to life 🎤📖 Last Saturday, I joined 《一口兰纳：多样性饮食文化》分享会 🍲✨ The author 陈优敏 (包子姐) shared about her adventures in Northern Thailand & the colorful food culture there. I was so inspired that I brought home her book plus a Tong Shu. Previously, I also attended a fascinating talk by forensic doctor 陈然致 (Tan Ren Zhi) 🧪🔍 — his fact findings and real cases were simply eye-opening!

Maha Yu Yi is a bookshop (at a corner) of Bras Basah that sells only Chinese books. Visited the bookshop with my wife and youngest child on a Saturday afternoon and were attended to by two enthusiastic & helpful ladies. This bookshop carries a good range of curated Chinese storybooks for children. They also sell Chinese stamps. Bought some books recommended by the 2 ladies and will definitely be back for more. Worth a visit if you are looking for Chinese storybooks for your kids.

Stumbled across this book store to pick up books to help me learn Mandarin (as a non-native speaker). Had a great time - the staff was super helpful especially Charlotte who taught me how to use a Chinese dictionary!

Been trying hard to nail down this book through reservation at the library & it was extremely tough because all copies were out on loan with many others who had already placed a reservation for this book. Maha Yu Yi was also out of stock for this book by the time I got in touch with them. I placed an order with them for this book and it was quite a long wait (almost a month). However, I was pleasantly surprised that they remembered and alerted me with an SMS when the stocks were replenished! And the staff were very helpful and nice. I hope to continue buying books from them on off whenever the need arises as they are really good in supplying Chinese books for both adults & kids. And they do offer pretty good discounts to members. Highly recommended!

Don’t think you can find a better Chinese bookstore for children’s books. Besides being well-stocked and organized by age group, staff were also able to recommend a wide range of age-appropriate books.

Great selection of written resources for people learning Chinese. They have many books of the Rainbow Bridge Graded Chinese Reader collection.

Nice place for chinese books. Lots of variety if your kids need reading materials this is the place.
