Absolutely an incredible place. The architecture of the temple is beautiful, and the grounds are quite well maintained. Admission is surprisingly free, although there is a 100 rupee fee to bring a camera inside. Unfortunately cell phones aren't allowed inside, so a proper camera is the only way to document your visit.
But price and views aside, what really makes this place stand out is the history and the spiritual nature of this place. Walking the grounds, seeing the Bodhi Tree and the various temples devoted to Buddha and his places of mediation, it is a really surreal feeling knowing that you might have walked in the same place that the Buddha did 2500+ years ago. The mood here is so amazing, with monks and laypeople alike from all over the globe praying, chanting, and peacefully contemplating.
Even if you aren't a Buddhist, this place is so incredible. If you are every lucky enough to come to India, this should be near the top of your list. It is that special.
