MAHAGUTHI CRAFT WITH CONSCIENCE

This is a large retail location for Mahaguthi, a Nepali Fair Trade producer of many kinds of Handicraft, garments, jewelry, stationery and woodcraft. I picked up a few handmade wooden toys for the kids and eyeballed a ton of garments. Staff was polite and helpful.

Nice place and awesome things to buy. However the price is high as compared to the local market but one can find really cool stuff. Look for Cashmere and woollen scarfs.silk and bamboo cloths are also available. Must visit

Nice fair trade handicraft. Very calm store right off the busy thoroughfare. 3 floors of wares from clothing to bed coverings to jewelry. Low pressure salesperson assisted me. Excellent shopping experience.

This is an excellent place to source locally made textiles at affordable prices that the artisans receive a living wage from. We splurged on pashminas, shawls and throws. The service was gracious and informative. We will return to this shop every time we visit Kathmandu. :)))))

Good range of crafts and home furnishings, much of it made by disadvantaged or minority groups, with transparent pricing on pashminas (Rs 2325 for a pashmina-silk blend). Credit cards accepted. There’s a larger outlet and collection of other fair-trade stores in Kopundol in Patan.

Handicrafts and Nepalese products at very affordable prices. Goods here are cheaper than same products in other stores
