This is one of the best live music venues that I've been to. Super cool old school vibes for the retro bar and bowling alley. Upstairs concert space is good. Bar and food is really great. Love the fries. The band is great.

I grew up in the 1980's bowling at Mahall's regularly in bowling leagues in elementary and middle school. At first, I was sad to hear that the bowling alley changed hands but I live what they did with it. My aunt, who grew up with one of the Mahall daughters spoke of a beautiful India inspired painting done by her that was underneath the wood paneling in the bar. I am very pleased with the esthetic and overjoyed to see the painting preserved. I spent a Friday evening bowling with my daughter while visiting from Georgia, there was a concert and plenty going on. It was the highlight of her trip. I was glad to once again be bowling at Mahall's. It was approaching 11 pm and we were getting hungry. We were both surprised to find out how good the food is. If you are coming home to Lakewood for a visit, don't skip Mahall's, If you live here and have never been, why haven't you come here? There's something here for everyone. I love what new owners have done and look forward to another 100 years.

Google
100 year old place with some kitchy spaces. The basement 70s bar is a nostalgic nod to years gone by and old velvety stuff, retro bowling alleys are that way because they've never been upgraded but still very cool. Band area was okay but the stage on the small venue could have been higher, I'm 6'5 and I couldn't see the band that well. Food not bad either. Overall take away, fun place to see a band, and frankly, I really wanted to bowl

Google
Short people be warned, the stage at the Roxy is SO LOW to the ground. I'm 5'4 and I couldn't see a thing for the entire concert. We left and my husband was like, what did you think of the drummer. I was like, there was a drummer? Normally I hang to the back so I can see over others, but the layout of this venue makes that impossible for a busy show. Disappointing. Amazing sound, though!

Google
Almost missed out on tickets so definitely order online early. It gets pretty hot in there so definitely visit the various water jugs around the building to hydrate. Had the chicken tenders and they were hot, fresh, and delicious 100% recommend. All together an amazing time and I will be coming back soon!!!

Google
An iconic and electric old school bar that had great cocktails, plenty of gathering space for socials and bowling lanes. It felt like we were in married with children’s living room on their basement level!

Google
This was my family’s first visit to this place, and it certainly won’t be our last. We were there for a birthday get-together, and I have to start by raving about the eatery in the alley—Parkys! I had the Rodeo burger and fries, and let me tell you, this burger packs a punch in flavor and quality. The onion straws are freshly made, and the BBQ sauce is thick with just the right amount of sweet heat. The bun is sturdy enough to hold all that deliciousness together. Now, the fries—absolutely incredible! They have a unique crispy breading and a fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth interior that I can’t get enough of. Do yourself a "flavor" and sprint to Parkys to indulge in their amazing food. Supporting local eateries not only rewards your taste buds but also helps strengthen our community. Without a doubt, Parkys earns a well-deserved 5 stars!

Google
This is a sound man Pat appreciation review. My band played an opening spot at a Mahalls show recently and Pat was the absolute coolest. Openers kind of get forgotten about a lot but not with him. He was super cool really seemed like he wanted to take care of us. It was our best show yet and his efforts played a huge part. Also the venue hospitality was great in general. The CLE area is better for having Mahalls promoting the local music scene.

Yelp
Super cute nostalgic place. It was pretty empty when I visited. I didn't eat or drink anything because I didn't see much on the menu that I was in the mood for. The bowling area caught my eye, so I'll probably come back on a weekend to experience a more upbeat vibe.
google avatar

Jesse J.

Yelp
Food was very tasty and with a limited menu I feel like you get a better quality for the choices they provide. Service was all good. Speedy and friendly. Ambiance was the best part of experience. Was a total vibe from the time you walk in to the bar to the food area to the bowling down stairs and the downstairs bar area was super retro with the bowling alley. Just super cool

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit to Mahalls not only do they offer a concert venue. They also offer a bowling alley on the lower level as well as a restaurant and brunch location. I also enjoyed how they offered vegan options on their brunch as well as late night menu. During my visit I like how nostalgic and older feeling the bowling alley was. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating as well as welcoming. I highly suggest checking out Mahalls if you're looking for a delicious brunch spot that offers vegan options or if you're looking to have some fun with friends, enjoy a concert or possibly play some bowling.

Yelp
Phenomenal wheelchair accesibility both in the The physical layout of the building and in the attitudes of all of the workers and security guards was great. Wheelchair ramp was good and had rails so could use hands to pull up a well as my legs. The process of getting in and getting seated in the designated area was very easy without any feelings of ostracization from the rest of the crowd. Great view of the stage, even in the wheelchair. Had folding chair for my companion. Offered and was around during the show for Amy needs that might arise(none did). Bathrooms had a step down to them way in the back from the the ADA seating area. ( it was not a problem just giving info). There was nothing they could have done better. An amazing experience!

Yelp
Great shows, it's the main reason I visit. The cocktails are often weak and the last time I went and asked for a dry martini I got a dirty martini instead, that's amateur hour. The bartenders were friendly at least, but I wouldn't order a drink there again. The vibe is interesting, it's in an old bowling alley. They've got 3 concert/event spaces, 2 full bars and the bar downstairs is a vintage cocktail bar next to the bowling lanes which you can still play. They also sell vintage clothes upstairs, and have a free Photo Booth. All in all, it's a great place to catch a show!

Yelp
What a cool place to grab a bite! We ate from the brunch menu and were not disappointed! The brined fried chicken is so tender! If you try anything get the chicken and waffle sandwich. Yum-o! Great vegan options. Great music, quirky, historic building and friendly, knowledgeable staff. A great experience!

Yelp
This was a fun spot to see a concert. Creative cocktails and delicious appetizers. The separate areas make purchasing/closing tabs clunky. Concert space, bar space, dining space, bowling space - all separate checks. If you order a drink at the food counter (seltzer or canned beer for example), you would need to go up to the bar to order a cocktail on a separate tab. Because the drinks are creative, they take longer to make. Having only 1 bartender an hour before a concert starts with over 150 tickets sold isn't wise. Nonetheless, it's a must-visit location to see a show. I'd recommend ordering two drinks with your food and taking the second one into the show.

Yelp
Overall, a pretty cute place! Definitely a retro vibe that instantly transport you the minute you walk inside. The outside isn't the most impressive, but it's quite homey once you're in. Also in a cute area of Cleveland which is nice. I came here to see a concert, and it was definitely an intimate setting. There's only a small stage, and then the rest of the room is all standing room, so if you're in the back, I doubt you'd see anything on stage. We were in the fourth or third row and still had trouble seeing at some points. The acoustics were pretty nice though. Sadly, I didn't get to taste any food, but the workers were fairly friendly. My only complaint is on our tickets it said the show would start at 6:30, but the doors didn't even open until 7, and the opener didn't go on until 8. Could have just been the specific performer, but it was a long time to wait in the sun!

Yelp
Great venue! Fun night out , enough bars and space. Parking was decent. Well clean venue and restrooms.
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I attended a show with 3 bands at this hipster-like bowling alley/music venue. We enjoy coming here because of the laid back vibe and ability to check out live music, get reasonably priced drinks and bowl. The service at the bar was friendly and quick. The downside of the night was that the sound for the shows was mediocre.

Yelp
When you walk into Mahall's it has an old vibe type of smell. When you walk in, they have a vintage type of vibe with a party room to your left, bowling in the middle, and food to your right. I wasn't super hungry, but I got something small to eat. I heard the fries and burgers were supposed to be great, but since I wasn't super hungry I just got fries. You go and order at a counter once you know what you want and have a numbered stand that you put on your table. The fries weren't that great unfortunately and extremely salty. I wish I had some water to go along with it, and it seems overpriced at $4.32. Overall, I'd give Mahalls another chance since I didn't properly use its facilities as much as I could've and didn't eat anything outside the fries. I

Yelp
Always a fun place. I was there for a benefit and it was done very well. The bowling is very retro and the lanes have been maintained well.

Yelp
Nested in Lakewood this hidden gem will not only send your tastebuds into overdrive but you will def have random thoughts of their awesome. Me and my husband recently stopped in and tried their Board Board and we were throughly impressed. Their brunch board is full of so many amazing breakfast items. Everything is flavorful. Their drinks are amazing and I really love the overall rustic look of the restaurant. The staff is friendly, service was excellent and it's for sure a repeat spot!!!

Yelp
I can't describe a better night! I've been to this venue many times for the K-pop parties that are hosted. I always have a wonderful time and the staff are amazing.

Yelp
So this place was pretty cool, bowling alley, bar, food and a nice venue for shows. We ate back at the burger place and let me tell you... 10/10 would recommend you get a burger or chicken sandwich from there. I almost went back for a second chicken sandwich.
google avatar

Yelp
love the indie & gastropub style vibe of this place. bar, restaurant, bowling alley, thrift stop & concert venue all included. :)
google avatar

Melissa M.

Yelp
Went to brunch with friends and we all loved what we ordered. The chicken breakfast sandwich was delish as well (not pictured). We were SCARFING down the home fries and after much debate, think they are broken up hash brown patties. Very decadent for straightforward food.

Yelp
Been coming to Mahall's for nearly 10 years! Attended numerous concerts, dance parties/Emo nights, and vintage/Halloween pop-up flea markets...Super fun atmosphere and AMAZING food. Highly recommend their brunch- I'm obsessed with the breakfast burrito and chicken 'n waffles! Family-friendly establishment, but also suitable for a date night. Pins and Needles is the new 70s-themed bar downstairs (obsessed). Parky's Pop-ups offers catering. They have a variety of options when it comes to a hosting venue: Weddings, Private Corporate Events, Bowling Birthday Parties...I had my daughter's first birthday in the main room last year and it was perfect! Really couldn't ask for a better venue.

Yelp
Great decor and delicious drinks. What a wonderful place to have fun with family and or friends. We'll be back!

Yelp
So much fun here - they have bowling, a cool speakeasy bar downstairs, fun records and posters to buy, and amazing creative cocktails! Bartenders are all awesome :)

Yelp
Brunch review: This place is awesome and I really hope they keep doing brunch. Much better than the majority of brunch places I've been in Cleveland. There's a couple things they need fix to be a perfect brunch spot. 1. BLINDS - Half the restaurant space feels like you're sitting on the surface on the sun. It's hot and just wayyyyy to bright. 2. Less salt, the burrito and the hash browns are eye watering levels of salty. They taste great but man the salt really takes it down a couple notches. Don't let any of this deter you. They have seating not next to those giant windows and the food really is good. Service is fantastic as well.

Yelp
This review is strictly for the "larger" music venue. We went there for the Baroness show last month. There weren't any pictures of this music venue online so we weren't sure what to expect. We stood in a line waiting to get into the venue, and as we entered the venue, there was a quirky vintage clothing shop on the way into the club. "How fun! How kitschy! How Portland!", I thought. I was hopeful this would end up being a cool venue to see them in. Nope. It was a small, poorly ventilated box with low ceilings. The stage wasn't elevated enough for us to even see the band. And this was not a cheap show. The tickets were $60!!! People were packed in like sardines and the air was so stuffy it was hard to breathe through the mask. The band requested people wear masks, but most people weren't. I couldn't stop thinking this place was the perfect breeding ground for covid. When the show was finally over and we started walking out, we saw one of the structural beams in the club had a thermostat and it said 80 degrees!!! What the heck!!! No wonder it felt so miserable! It was just not comfortable or enjoyable or fun. Even if one of my favorite bands played there, I wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Jo-Ellen G.

Yelp
Drinks were great and had a great atmosphere. I would not go to a concert there again, it was a thousand degrees inside the venue and the sound was just bad. If you're going bowling or to the bar, it's pretty great!
google avatar

Allison J.

Yelp
We tried their Alice in Wonderland drinks in the remodeled bar area and it was an awesome experience. Definitely wanna go back for the food. In the past we've seen music here and it was fun. The drinks are so creative and Instagrammable. Go see some on my IG Cleveland.Westside.Eats.

Josh P.

Yelp
Some of the best food I've had in ages. The flavor profiles were unmatched. You will not be disappointed with stopping in and catching a bite to eat and a show there! Everyone is so nice and welcoming once you walk in the door! I went an hour out of my way to try out the food, and I start drooling when I think about it now ! Do yourself a favor and get a blast of flavor! And they literally can make 90/100% of their dishes vegetarian or vegan!
google avatar

Yelp
Love this place! Even though its not totally set for my generation ( I'm old ) , I appreciate the uniqueness and cool vibe. The multiple concert stages offer bands you probably won't find many other places. On the other hand, the old school bowling is right up my alley! Remember penciling in and adding your own score on a paper sheet? Do that here! And finally, the fried chicken is second to none in my opinion. Crispy out and juicy in, and seasoned just right. The chicken sandwich is better than the chains too. I don't ever need to go anywhere else for my chicken!
google avatar

Jan W.

Yelp
Came here for an event and can only comment on the cocktails at the bar. A bit peculiar to still sell Christmas themed drinks in March but the one I tried I did not feel was worth the price point. I want to come back to try to speakeasy downstairs but it was closed due to a pipe burst
google avatar

Dakota B.

Yelp
We came here from Columbus for a concert, and didn't know what to expect for the venue. What a cool place! We were so surprised. Not only is it a cool venue for indie bands, there are bowling lanes, a bar, and a small restaurant. The fried chicken and fries were really good, the cocktails were a bit expensive, but delicious, and the beer was cheap! There was also tons of parking available. I would certainly come again!

Yelp
Hannah's DJ Nights are simply the best part of Mahall's. Stop flying in companies from New York when Hannah does it better!!!
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
This is a Cleveland MUST! There is something about bowling somewhere that takes you back a generation (or two). Any time I have family or friends in town I take them here & they all have enjoyed their experience. I recommend making reservations (which are available to make on their website) on the weekends so you don't have to wait. Thanks Mahall's! Looking forward to more nights bowling with y'all.
google avatar

Sharon W.

Yelp
Was there for a concert but enjoyed the bar as well. Drinks are pricey and trendy but still tasty and fun. Concert was a BLAST! Would go back. Was sad bowling alley was closed.

Patty C.

Yelp
This burger was so good I almost never want to get another from here incase the next one doesn't live up to this one

T M.

Yelp
Had the chicken and waffle sandwich. The chicken was moist and tender on the inside, crisp on the outside... that's what you want, however; the waffles were prepackaged. They were Julian's Belgian style waffles, I know the brand because I buy them and eat them semi-regularly. They're good, but I can go down the street and buy them myself. The sauces on the sandwich were good, the hash on the side was pretty average. Honestly the best part of the meal was the coffee... Von Ray, or Ray Von blend, or something like that (local from what they told me). All in all, it was a mediocre meal that was way overpriced for something that is made with a half-measured effort. If you're going to make the hash and chicken in house, make the extra effort and make the waffle too. For chicken and waffles, there's Deagan's, and the Winchester. Winchester is best IMO. Deagan's is good for a weekday when you can't get weekend brunch at Winchester.
google avatar

Patty M.

Yelp
This place is Chris Hardwick's wet dream - a bowling alley that also has a performance space where comedy shows and small concerts put on by indie bands you've never heard of are held at least once a month. I write this as I wait for the $5 monthly SUPER SHOW to begin (second Wednesday of every month, show begins at 8 : 00 and you should get there early because it fills up fast). The bar has a small menu with THE most amazing fried chicken you'll have on Cleveland. EDIT: The Super Show is no more, I'm afraid. Other events still being held here!
google avatar

Deanna E.

Yelp
Nice place. Very well decorated and friendly staff. We were here for a work party and at first I thought it was an odd choice. The lanes are very nostalgic and I live that they kept that 50s/60s feel in the alley part. We didn't try the food but the beer selection is great, and prices are reasonable. Great service at the bar even though it got a bit busy. Kid friendly.
google avatar

Mariah S.

Yelp
Mahall's is your classic bowling experience. It doesn't have all of the bells and whistles of the newer bowling lanes that are popping up, but it adds to its charm. Both upstairs and downstairs lanes, they each offer the same experience. Its definitely a little grungey and divey, so don't expect anything fancy. Also, when you go, make sure you have someone who is willing and knowing to keep score! There are not automated score keepers. Someone will need to do math. Also, the bowling during weekdays is $4 a game, which is super affordable compared to Corner Alley or Pinstripes. On the weekends though, its priced per hour. I would give them a call to clear up any confusion you may have!

Tabitha S.

Yelp
The company my friend works for booked a holiday party at Mahall's and I was invited as a guest. The bartenders were very attentive and fast, the drinks were delicious. The company also ordered food off of their catering menu. Nothing crazy just some chicken and noodles. The food was good and the sauces were great. The reason for my two star review is that my friend and I saw one of the employees taking food from the line. It just seemed distasteful and unprofessional considering that we were there with a hospitality group.

Ulises A.

Yelp
Where do I start? The bowling was amazing and the food was incredible. I've also caught a couple concerts here. I'm sure I come here anytime I visit Cleavland . This place ins incredible.
google avatar

Brady B.

Yelp
Very cool scene in Lakewood. Old school bowling where you score yourself, neat vintage-looking bar and food ordering area. Bowling lanes and balls weren't in top condition, so if you are a competitive bowler, maybe not the lanes for you. If you're just looking for a different scene for hanging with friends, it's a great choice. We opted to pay by the hour, $20 per lane, which was a very reasonable price. Bonus - if you are looking for a full night event, you can bowl and then see live music all in the same building. Extra cover charge for music but it's small $.
google avatar

Jake A.

Yelp
We came here on Friday night for a work event. The atmosphere is extremely casual; the shoe rentals are at the front of the establishment, and there is a downstairs and an upstairs area. Our party was in the downstairs area. We had a wonderful time, but there were a few things that I noticed that weren't great. First, two of the lanes we had reserved, while not in complete disrepair, were certainly not incredibly well maintained. The lane farthest to the right completely broke while we were playing, and we were just down a lane; it looked as if a plastic bag got caught in the lane. The lane next to it was better but had a slightly broken ball detection mechanism, though it remained functional with some jiggering. Also, there are two bars, one upstairs and one downstairs. The downstairs bar is fairly rinky dink with few options and no draft beer, while the other bar has draft beer along with a better selection of alcohol. Parity would have been nice. That being said, the place is clean and has a great atmosphere, so I wasn't disappointed; I just felt the experience could have been better.

Amanda T.

Yelp
was cut off at an open bar wedding!! tf. my bf who was driving was allowed more drinks than i was . will never be going back!! if you want to be scammed come here !!
google avatar

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
This is one of the must interesting bowling alley/bar/concert venues I've been too. With all three components of alcohol, live music and fun in one you'll be sure to find something you like. The drinks are a little pricey, but the cost to bowl in a big group is cheap! You'll find all types of people at this place which makes the night even more entertaining. Very old school with a large helping of hipster :)

Ally K.

Yelp
This place is overrated. The bowling is far from legit, the cocktails are very expensive, the whole place is in need of a working AC unit. The worst part was the downstairs bartender who made us wait 20 min to order a drink, as he prepared cocktails for the others at the bar, and then turned to us and claimed he was only serving beer and shots only. Like we didn't just see him serve the others cocktails, and like he couldn't mention that 20 min earlier when we sat down. I wouldn't recommend, no matter what cringey influencers try to tell you about this being a hot spot of Cleveland.
google avatar

Ethan R.

Yelp
Their fried chicken and chicken nuggets are so delicious and they brine them in pickle juices for 24 hours, giving their crispy outside such a delicious taste! They also threw in a couple extra pieces of chicken which blew my mind even more and def get the Nashville hot sauce with it..really adds to the experience! Good people, great food! If you love fried chicken, try this!
google avatar

Brandi T.

Yelp
So good! I crave their fried chicken. Great burgers also. The menu is small but the prices are great. The crowd is mostly young but there are a few older folk around. Great beer selection and prices. Bartender was super friendly. I cannot get over this delicious food.
google avatar

Khloe S.

Yelp
I can't believe I've never written a review for this place! I have been coming here for years and this is, BY FAR, one of my absolute favorite music venues. Not only is the place super safe (and clean!), but the entire staff is extremely accommodating and quick to resolve any issues (with drunk people, weirdo's, etc.). Scared to walk to your car after a show? They'll escort you. Drunk dude being weird? They'll take care of it. Need some cheap beer?! They have a bar! The venue itself (left from the door) is spacious and decorated in a way that is not only unique, but makes you wonder about the person(s) behind the decorations. It's just so unique the way everything is put together that I bet the staff is actually pretty chill. Lol. Bathrooms are super tiny and definitely not wheelchair accessible, but the concert room definitely is!

Sean N.

Yelp
89 degrees in the venue with no airflow. And the sound is awful. I don't recommend seeing a show here ever.
google avatar

Rosie D.

Yelp
Mahall's is kinda weird to me. I remember it as a place where you had your sixth-grade birthday party, but now it's a hipster paradise. Mahall's is one of my favorite places to hit up a show because if it isn't quite your thing, your evening isn't a bust. The good ol' fashioned bowling alley is pretty affordable for a few rounds. Even gutter ball bowlers like me have a great time. The bar area is nice, nothing to write home about. The staff has always been super friendly with great service.
google avatar

Gabrielle G.

Yelp
I didn't eat here but we bowled and drank. They let us bring in cupcakes for a birthday and were friendly about it. Lanes were a bit finicky at times but to be expected as we weren't there to pro bowl but to drink and play. I wouldn't suggest families later on a Saturday it's more for adults. Had plenty of balls. They did run out of some shoes but was pretty crowded . Would come to play again . We did reserve lanes ahead of time which I may suggest if you want sat night and have a group or need more than one lane .
