Maierl-Alm & Chalets (Kitzbühel, Tyrol) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Nearly a century old, the Maierl-Alm & Chalets is a classic Alpine lodge set in the heart of the Kitzbühel ski area, halfway up the mountain from Kirchberg. The rooms in the inn are traditional in style and modern in their comforts, as are the more spacious chalets, each of which sleeps up to 8. It does brisk business in ski season, obviously, though Tyrol is scarcely less desirable in summer; all year round you’ll be thankful for the wellness center, with its indoor pool, sauna, and Turkish bath, and for the hearty Alpine fare on offer in the inn’s restaurant." - Tablet Hotels

The main downside was the terrifying steep and winding one lane road to get here. The highlight was the stupendous setting and beautiful views. The food was OK, albeit limited in variety, and totally overshadowed by the setting. But now that I have seen that, I am not sure I would return, because the menu, while fine, was not exciting.

We had a wonderful time in Maierl. We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and the service and the hotel were amazing, with beautiful views. The breakfast is excellent, the restaurant food is okay and the service really friendly! We had amazing fine! The only thing is that the road to arrive is difficult and steady, so if you are not an expert I wouldn’t recommend to drive until there.

Attended a wedding here. The view is stunning, the atmosphere is quiet special. (The drive up can be sketchy if you happen to do it in rainy weather, which one should avoid. Also, parking up there can be problematic.) Most of the (mainly English speaking) staff are very polite and friendly. The food was delicious. Good wine selection.

My stay at the Maierl Alm hotel was outstanding! Nestled in the picturesque mountains, the location offered breathtaking views and genuine tranquility. The staff provided top-notch service and the restaurant served a delightful blend of local and international cuisine. A truly unforgettable mountain retreat!

I would like to say the venue is stunning in the Austrian alps and the chalets are fantastic. However the manager (Hubert) was rude, unhelpful, and did everything he could to ruin my friends wedding experience. He should not be in hospitality. Luckily the wedding day was perfect and went smoothly thanks to the wedding planner and the bar staff (Fabio in particular) and no thanks to Hubert. Thanks again to everyone who made my friends wedding day everything they wanted! Just a shame that the days surrounding the wedding day were tarnished by Hubert’s unpleasantness.

The ideal place for ski holiday, right on the ski slope. Great cuisine, friendly and very helpfull staff. Pet friendly. Top mountain view. Worth all the money spent. We will definitely come back next year.

We spend a full week in one of the chalets of the hotel. And from start to finish it was superb. The view from the rooms and the terraces onto the valley and the surrounding mountains, the luxury amenities in the chalet (Riedel wineglasses for instance), the roomy layout, the unlimited supply of wood for the fire place, the private sauna and jacuzzi...all contributed to a total state of relaxation. ||And then we haven't even mentioned the great hospitality of the team. From front office, to restaurant, to housekeeping, all seemed to have one thing on their mind: our wellbeing...||We would return in a heart beat!

Great drinks, fantastic home cooked soup in a fantastic mountain location. Rustic but comfortable furniture. Highly recommended for a break from skiing; easily approached from the slopes. We returned again it was so good.

Yelp
The place, the hotel; whole deal was OMG, I cant believe how great it is to be here. Austrian Alps are absolutely fantastic. Food is obviously home grown or hunted in vicinity is superb. Food tastes even greater when sun is setting over the mountains. Take walk in tens of tracks in the wood, it is fantastic in early spring.
