Main Street Hotel

We rarely make a return trip to a hotel as there is so much out there to experience so to report that this is our THIRD visit to Elodie’s beautiful hotel really says something. A wonderful overnight stay with the warmest of welcomes, local sparkling wine, restaurant recommendations, the comfiest bed, the most restful night’s sleep, all followed by a feast of a home made breakfast featuring local produce. Everything was made even better by a good understanding of gluten free food as my husband has coeliac disease. And, yes, we will definitely go back!

Absolutely sensational! Certainly the best hospitality experience we've ever had. Elodie is a superb host, very attentive and extremely kind and warm. The location is obviously fabulous, and the room was really high quality. We were greeted with welcome drinks (on the house....) and a warm chat about us and about what we planned to enjoy in the city, including Elodie's personal recommendations. We stayed at the Main Street Hotel in Ypres for four nights (midweek) in August. We chose the hotel based on the previous excellent reviews, and we were not disappointed. The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring Ypres and is characterised by a quirky charm (visit the basement toilets in the main building!) and a relaxed ambience. Our room (the Potterie) was comfy, private, quiet and well supplied with complimentary toiletries, drinks and snacks. We also appreciated the hotel’s honesty bar, offering an additional selection of drinks to enjoy in our room or the hotel lounge. Élodie’s warm hospitality cannot be faulted, and the breakfasts were impressive, featuring local ingredients and dishes, with the menu offering sufficient variety to maintain our interest even over a longer stay. Highly recommended for those looking for a personalised service and a touch of luxury during their visit to Ypres. Thank you Élodie!

We are so glad we chose to stay at Main Street hotel on our visit to Ypres (Ieper). This is a charming hotel very conveniently placed a short walk to the Cloth Hall. We were greeted on arrival with a welcome drink and shown around this unique hotel. Elodie is the perfect host who went out of her way to make us feel welcome and relaxed during our stay. The room (Top) was fabulous with a complimentary minibar, large bathroom, ample towels and toiletries and all perfectly cleaned and restocked everyday. The breakfast here is amazing, lots of delicious cold items from the buffet and freshly cooked hot options too - all cooked to perfection along with lovely coffee, such a fantastic start to the day. There is a little garden terrace off the breakfast room to sit out in with a drink and a welcoming reception area to the front. You could easily spend time in the hotel as a pleasant rest after sightseeing and exploring Ypres and the surrounding areas. Elodie was also very helpful with suggestions of restaurants, places to visit and directions. You really do get personal attention here. Thank you to Elodie, the perfect host, for making our stay at this unique hotel so enjoyable, we look forward to returning to Main Street hotel.

I had a wonderful time in this small hotel, stayed 5 nights in the room called "Experiment"(1st floor upstairs). Very quiet, comfy bed and a wonderful shower, also has a complimentary minibar. Elodie, the host, does a fantastic job; I loved her hospitality, her attention to detail in the decorations and her exceptional breakfast as a perfect start in the day.

This was a long anticipated return visit, and it didn’t disappoint. Elodie was as attentive as before and it was like returning to a member of the family. It was all exactly as before and it was lovely to feel at home straight away. We stayed in Atelier again and it was as quirky and exquisite as before. We had family join us on this occasion, and they fell in love with the hotel and Elodie, as we had done on our first visit. It’s such a shame it is located in surroundings that cause you to leave for the day, because you could so easily just sit and chill all day! We look forward to returning again. Thank you Elodie.

This is an exquisite boutique hotel located in beautiful Ypres. Elodie, our hostess, was charming and thoughtful. Our rooms were luxuriously comfortable with fabulous themes-Wild and Experiment. The bathrooms were huge and immaculate. We were thrilled with the gourmet breakfast-far better than some 5 star hotels we have stayed at. We would highly recommend this hotel and hope to return.

Pretty much a perfect hotel! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left Elodie made sure that we had everything we needed and were as comfortable as possible. We stayed in the Experiment room, which has a fantastically large bathroom, with a brilliant shower. Breakfast in the morning was more than we could have possibly asked for - with a wide range of buffet foods - cheeses, meats, pate, bread, fruit, yoghurt, cereal - plus the option to have a hot dished freshly cooked. The hotel is a just a short walk from the Cloth Hall and as such a very convenient location to visit all things Ypres and beyond. Thank you so much to Elodie for making our weekend so relaxing!
