Main Street Markets

Visited here for the first time last week, specifically to check out the experimental, 'pop-up' location of Roasty's...an all-too temporary branch of the well-known Portland restaurant. Frankly, I find this 'Markets' venue a bit too sterile — not particularly comfy in seating or 'atmosphere'. But the food (and future possibilities?) served at Roasty's more than made up for this. Chef Sean is commuting here from Portland on his days off (!) so Roasty's of Rockland will be open just for December 2025, and only on Monday and Tuesdays. Hours are 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. I highly recommend the place after trying their Italian-style steak sandwich, which was excellent; a creative and flavorful take on the classic hot sandwich that this Philly area native grew up with. Fingers crossed, we can look forward to a reprise appearance in the new year.

The breakfast burrito is out of this world--by far the most tasty I've ever had! Staff is patient, kind and helpful, while the digs are clean and inviting. Go!

Great selection of food from coffees, smoothies, soups, and sandwiches. I like that they clearly label their food as dairy or gluten-free. They have free WiFi too with tables that are a good height for laptop work.

SO!FLIIPPING!!!!CLEAN!! I come here to get a smoothie maybe a couple times a year, got a sweet treat months ago also, so delicious. Haven’t tried the food, but am sure one day I will. Pricey, but def worth it every time. As someone who works with food and customer service, I know a lot of work goes into that place by just stepping in. Everything is so nice, organized, clean, and beautiful. Amazing job to that staff. Get the PB banana Chocolate smoothie, very yummy.

On a Monday at lunch, after waiting in line for 15 minutes was told they had no chicken, no potatoes. I tried ordering 3 things and they were out of ingredients for each. Also out of soup at 12. Would not recommend.

Maine street market is one of my favorite quick drop in spots. The employees are super friendly and always so welcoming. Definitely highly recommended! The manager is a super star and always helping out the team and making things run smoothly. They’re so lucky to have an inspirational lady like her!

Delicious breakfast burrito (pictured), sandwiches and wraps. A great place to sit for a quick bite or spend a while enjoying a meal.

Food was great. Bought 2 items in the shop, when I asked for a bag the girl handed it to me and walked away. Probably won't be back on our next visit.

Stopped in for breakfast on Saturday morning One of the few places in Rockland now to get breakfast. Order breakfast sandwiches at the counter the grab a table. Not too bad

Beautiful space and lots of good snack options. Outlets at many tables - good place to come get work done. Dog friendly with plenty of different seating areas. There is a gallery area that is more quiet. The staff was very friendly and patient with the two toddlers in line ahead of me. I got a BALT sandwich on sourdough and it was absolutely what you want it to be. I also got a Green Dream smoothie since it was a "favorite" and I agree. Very tasty! Great place to come for a quick breakfast or lunch or to hangout.

This was the best place we could have asked for to eat lunch in Rockland. Super clean (although the bathroom was not), bright, airy, and a little something for everyone. On the day we went, their buffet was Indian-inspired. I was able to get a lovely plate with rice, chicken tikka masala, and roasted vegetables. My got a grilled cheese with different kinds of cheeses and added bacon and tomatoes. Epic!! He said it was one of the best grilled cheeses he's ever had. The clam chowder was also lovely. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because I think the tikka masala could have had a little more flavor and spice. But it was still delicious and hit the spot!

What a find. I had the Spicy Breakfast sandwich on sour dough bread. Simply delicious. Obviously made with care by a chef who really knows what she is doing.

I was there yesterday and enjoyed the most amazing curried chicken salad sandwich. The half portion was more than enough for my lunch! Also couldn't pass up a cookie and scone...both delicious. The folks at the counter were very nice and it just felt like a very friendly place!! Thank you!!!

I haven't been in here in some time and I'm not sure when the remodel occurred. The turkey jalapeño Sandwhich used to be the best Sandwhich around. Now it's borderline inedible. I'm not sure what happened, but this place has taken a nosedive.

First time here since a couple summers ago. It was quite good then, but mediocre now. It feels like ownership must have changed. Before, they were very serious about their love of food. Now it's fine, but uninventive and not worth the money. My sandwich was made with standard white grocery store bread - something I would not even use at home myself, let alone be happy, paying $14 for. Find another option if you can.

Got take out from this place to bring home and heat up and it was lovely! The market itself has a great selection of pantry foods, sandwiches, smoothies, and pre-made entries and sides. They also offer catering which I heard is great and will have to try it out. This place is perfect for a quick breakfast/lunch grab or take home dinner.

Cutest small town coffee shop/ market I've ever been to. It's beyond clean and every worker is incredibly friendly and welcoming. They have a smoothie/ coffee station as well as sandwiches, breakfast foods, and a plethora of healthy snacks. It's a small town Whole Foods, and my entire family loves it!!!! If you are planning a trip to the Rockland/ Camden area, Main Street Markets is a must go to!

A great selection of drinks, snacks, and lunch foods. The falafel sandwich was amazing. Avocado toast was also really good.

A quaint little market with a selection of quality products on the Main Street in town. We picked up some kombucha and water for our day trip. If you want better selection and lower prices hit the local Shaw's. They also have a hot food and juice bar.

You can get an ENTIRE half a gallon of the same Oatley brand oatmilk for the same $7 price tag they put on the 32 oz boxes here, at the Good Tern Co Op right up the road between Dunkin and McDonald's. Don't waste your money here, they jack the prices up on everything not just the milk.

Stopped by today for lunch. Got half a salad. You could not beat the price of $5. Then, the very friendly staff, let me go behind the counter and pick my ingredients for the salad, all of which looked very good. When they brought the salad it was the size of a large salad. My only complaint, which was probably my fault, was they put too much dressing on the salad. I usually order the dressing on the side.

A great discovery as I walked to the YMCA down the street for a mid-vacation workout. Kombucha on tap and locally made gluten free bread breakfast sandwiches caught my attention. They've got an extensive selection of sandwiches, salads, açaí and smoothies, coffee deli case, and a hot food bar that changes each day. They've also got a small but beautiful looking produce selection and small selection of grocery items. I'll be back!

Awesome market and restaurant. Such delicious organic and local food. They even have a wine called "The Oyster" Sauvignon Blanc that restores 100 oysters per bottle to Maine! It was amazing!

Fantastic market and breakfast spot. Wish they were open earlier! Would have loved to go back and try more of the sandwiches.

My wife and I met with Maine Street Markets for an hour about having them cater our wedding along with having a dinner and breakfast at their sister restaurant, Ada's Kitchen. That meeting seemed to go well but then it was near impossible to hear back from them on pricing and scheduling despite our follow-ups. They seemed very unorganized and unprofessional so I would not count on them for event catering. We went with Megunticook Markets instead and they were great. UPDATE (9/6/18): To update this thread, Jen from Maine Street Markets, and I had a call yesterday after she replied to my review (below). I clarified that the problem stemmed from Maine Street Markets not being responsive after my wife and I had a lengthy yet positive meeting with them in person. Once we eventually heard back, a lot of the requested info (i.e. about a breakfast, a dinner and some food options) was not included and they weren't responsive to my follow-ups after that. We had to scramble last minute to secure an alternate caterer and luckily found Megunticook Markets. I let Jen know that we like the food and grocery options at Maine Street Markets but just can't recommend their event catering services to others based on this experience.

Who would have thought this place had great eat in meals. It's got daily specials that are delicious.

We had a dinner party for 23 people catered by Main Street Markets. It was wonderful!! We had steak sandwich sliders, Maine crab claws and crudité for appetizers, and delicious bbq chicken with the best broccoli slaw I have ever had for dinner. Everyone was raving about the food and service as MSM made it so easy for us. Ill definitely call them back to cater my next dinner party and I will definitely stop in for that broccoli slaw often - hope it's a regular item in their grab and go!

Amazing place for healthier options. We got some sheep cheese , organic wine, freshly baked baguette, homemade hummus. Everything was delicious but Copper tail farm goat yogurt was out of this world ! I event called them to see if I can buy it somewhere in Chicago ... Sooo jammy

Great offerings on niche healthy groceries--garlic scapes, locally made chai applesauce, local cheese. Next time I want to come back for lunch.

Great salads and wraps with soups to die for. Usually other good buffet lunch options. Kind service even in big lines at lunch. I love this place and continue to be there for lunch a couple of times each week.

Something for everyone at this fresh and hip market, eatery and catering resource. Delicious soups, sandwiches, salads and yogurt bowls plus ready to go prepared foods. The Mozzarella, tomato, basil baguette sandwich and the chicken coconut soup were both perfect. Main Street Markets also offers a high quality selection of produce and natural products. We also enjoyed the catering at a cocktail party, and the smoked scallops with horseradish sauce were a stand out!

I work locally and Main Street market is the best place to grab a quick lunch. They have many options and something for everyone. I love it here.

Excellent rotating selection of soups and pre-made sandwiches which are great for grab-and-go lunch. They also have different specials such as "build your own pasta" and burrito bowls on various days every week. Their smoothies, salads and wraps are also to die-for. Plus, they have a full selection of organic groceries. My only issue is price, but that comes with quality - and it's worth paying for.

This is a nice little place. Right in the middle of a lovely down town, this store/restaurant has a wide selection of healthy option. The best part, fresh juice! We had the Green Juice: kale, apple, ginger, and celery. It was delicious!!

I have been coming here for about 6 months since I moved to Rockland over the winter. I love the selection of local produce and flowers they have, the prepared foods, the kombucha/drink cooler - it really is a one stop shop, which is awesome. And I support it (both the concept and with lots of my money). They do have some sort of loyalty program for locals but apparently you have to work on Main Street, which is lame. What about the rest of us living in Rockland who consistently support you? Anyway, back to the review. What I've noticed time and time again that hasn't improved with Main Street Markets is the entire process of food ordering and the time it takes to make it. And I'm a patient girl. I'll normally go here on my day off to get something for breakfast. A few times ago, I ordered an egg sandwich at the counter, and walked down Main Street for about 25 minutes knowing it would probably take a while (it was busy). I came back to pick up my sandwich and it was nowhere to be found. In fact, the cashier had somehow lost my order/not communicated it so I had to place it again and wait another 20 minutes. I didn't complain but I feel like there needs to be a better system in place. I've experienced similar situations and long waits a number of times here. I also recently tried their avocado toast with spicy mayo which was honestly a transcendental experience. Each side had perfectly sliced slivers of an entire avocado. Today when I ordered it, though, they forgot the mayo, and the toast I received was a sad shadow of what I had received the first time. There were about 4 slices of avocado and it was definitely not a work of art. Which is fine, but I feel that there should be consistency, or some effort put in when charging $5 for a piece of toast. Anyway, I felt compelled to write this today as I do spend quite a bit of money here, and I would like to see this part of the business improve.

This was a great place with great choices! My son had a smoothie, husband had some amazing Indian food and so had a wrap. It was very good service, great menu, fresh produce and friendly people. Would highly recommend

Love this place! The staff could not be more helpful or friendly! They have a wide array of yummy food to choose from all local and organic! I love stopping in whenever I'm having the girls over for some cheese and crackers! The local cheese is too die for and they have such an excellent wine selection! I see that a fellow Yelper already mentioned it but I must recommend it as well, I picked up a few bottles of "The Oyster" recently for a girls night (the bottle is so beautiful) and not only is there a great local cause behind it but it is also one of the best wines (especially for the price) I've come across in years! Always the best quality here!

So went to grab a sandwich for a quick lunch to go- not so quick. Is it me or does this place look empty? Which is it - a restaurant or spartan items on shelves? Pick one and do it right I say. The energy from employees was very unenthusiastic at best. Definitely not a stop for foodies. Management needs to liven this place up with bright and smiling people. In my opinion this space is way too big for what it is meant for. Room for lots of improvement especially since the summer onslaught is about to happen. Best of luck here

I stop by almost every time I'm in Rockland! Their Indian Food Mondays are not to be missed! Fresh food is delicious and there are tons of specialty items to grab to make your own. I'm excited they are now offering limited cooking classes and look forward to the "Grilling Workshop!"

Best store on Main Street by far!! I have been coming here for a few months now and it always seems to improve more and more everyday! The food here is always made to perfection, especially the breakfast sandwiches. Staff here is truly amazing, always working hard to make everyone feel welcomed and satisfied. The Main Street Markets team is also one of the most accommodating businesses in town! They catered a party for me recently and on top of they're awesome catering services, they made great accommodations to budgets, food options and space rentals. It isn't so easy having a very slim budget. I emailed the owner the day before asking about catering options, not expecting them to cater on such a short notice... but they did! Everything came out amazing!! No complaints from our guests and no complaints from us!! Very professional and very very organized, I couldn't have been more pleased.
