A canoeing guide to the Main! I joined the river from Mainz on the Rhine and found the current manageable,its a very clean place and I wish everyone would keep their rivers equally clean,as you ascend there are sporting locks for smaller vessels,I didn't realize until the fire brigade let me through,how decent of them! Reaching the Old Main the current becomes a real challenge until you reach the lock,many rafts came downriver with the current and everyone was very friendly,fishing spots provide excellent no frills camping sites,with tons of fresh fruit available alongside almost every lock,sweet.

Very nearly missed seeing the view as it was dark! But after a long wait the sun came up and you could see the water that was visible on the surface. I asked if it was possible to touch the bottom of the river with a long ball of string and told this could be done if the current was going in the right direction

Beautiful, big and well keep Park. Even if you want to seat down or only walk I would recommend it all the time. You can go with your family and also small kids with kids playground for them to spend all the time and get tired. It never get so full so there is enough space to keep the distance from other people

The Rhine River is just pretty. No trip in Germany would be complete if you have not gone here. The vineyards are breathtaking on top of the river. Plus the charming castles along the gorge are so pretty as well! I recommend that you visit all the towns along the rhine because theyre all worth it!
