Beautiful Graine Mill in the middle of beautiful Skowehegan Maine. Traveled all the way from upstate New York just to get here, truly amazing.

Yelp
I had the smoked tomato quiche, and my daughter had the breakfast sandwich. Both were fantastic . It was a beautiful day so we ate outdoors and were entertained by someone playing and singing at the Saturday farmers market. Service was great. Friendly waitress. I look forward to going again.

Yelp
Wow! I'm not sure if I ever had better bread than this bread. I do like a good French baguette but this bread... it transports you to another time when bread was a whole meal. We couldn't stop eating it when we got home. It's a beautiful creation! Can't wait to get more, wish they sold it closer to Rockland.

Yelp
This is such a great place to get wood fired pizza and other yummy baked goods. They pride themselves on using local ingredients and the staff are great. There is definitely love in their food! Plenty of indoor seating and they have outdoor seating for the warmer weather. We had a pizza with ricotta from the crooked face creamery and added local mushrooms and grabbed some sea salt chocolate walnut cookies to go and it all was great!

Yelp
Fantastic little spot! Great ambiance, love the outdoor seating. It is small/not much seating, and yes the wait for the food is really long - but I couldn't dock a full star for that, as it's clearly a tiny place... I'd do 4.5 stars if that was an option... but the service was super friendly & fun, loved our waitress! The flight of margaritas was delicious! And my BBQ Pulled Pork pizza was/pickled onions & sliced apples was sooo yummy! My friend & I tried a slice of each other's pizza & her Log Driver meat livers was fantastic also!! Overall excellent food, service & spot! Just be aware if they are busy, there's not much seating & may be a long wait to get seated and another long wait to get your food. If you plan for that - you won't be disappointed!! My visit was a leisurely girls night out dinner - no rush, so it was completely enjoyable!

Yelp
This was a great find as we were passing through town! Service was excellent, the pizzas and baked goods delicious. Would absolutely stop there again.

Yelp
I was charged $9.75 for a 12-ounce latte here. When I asked how a $3.75 latte had become $9.75, the lady said that lattes only come with one shot, and that they charge $3 for each additional shot. I've been drinking lattes for 20 years have never seen a 1-shot latte or been charged $3 for each additional shot (other places in Skowhegan charge $1 per extra shot, which is typical even in expensive cities). I really love what this place is trying to do for Skowhegan, and I want to give it five stars because they sell locally made goods. But this was just nuts, and I left feeling like I had been bamboozled. Be sure to ask how much things cost before you order, because you can't trust that it will be like other places you shop.

Yelp
Great pizzas, & though we got there late we still had a good selection & friendly server.

Yelp
Nice stop for lunch, we were really thrilled to find this restaurant in this part of Maine. The menu is relatively simple but focuses on the bread made with the mill's products. I had a nice sandwich with ham and local smoked mozzarella made in their oven. They have a lot of pizzas available. My kids opted for toast with ricotta and honey/jam and a milk bar, a cool treat for the kids with local milk flavored with chocolate, blueberry, and maple syrup. You can find products from Maine Grains and other purveyors in their shop, as well as baked goods.

Yelp
A friend wanted to buy some bread and locally sourced grain here, so my wife and another friend met her here for lunch. I had read some reviews so I went in expecting a wait for the meal preparation, and there was indeed quite a wait. But we hadn't seen our friend for many months and she hadn't really met our other friend, so there was some catching up to do all around. We saw our food about an hour after we sat down. The food is locally sourced -- that is the point, I suppose -- and though the menu is limited, there are interesting choices. I had a cup of the soup of the day: Italian sausage soup, and it was excellent. I wished I had ordered a larger bowl despite the price. I also went for a toasted sandwich of ham and mozzarella cheese, also great. I had a can of beer for around $8 for the occasion. I feel obliged to point out that it is made by a Maine brewer, it was a 16 ounce can, and it was the strongest beer I have ever had. I was feeling a bit fuzzy around the edges after drinking it, and beer does't usually make its presence known to me that quickly. For both reasons, I stopped at one. My wife had the Log Driver pizza with pepperoni, bacon, a cheese blend and chicken chunks. They only have 12 inch pizzas and this was $18. But I had a slice and it was great. She isn't ruling out going back just for a pizza sometime, and it is a 45 minute drive for us! She had the Italian sausage soup also. One of our friends had the ferro squash bowl and liked it, but our other friend didn't like her winter salad. Not because of its quality, but she is very sensitive to spices and underestimated how spicy this would be with its pickled squash and other items. The vinaigrette dressing didn't dazzle her either, so she picked around the salad for bits she liked. Our server was very nice. So yes, it is an expensive meal and with just one cook very slow in coming, so just go in with that mindset and the knowledge that you are supporting locally sources farms and such, and that with any luck you will also think the food excellent. We took some home, so that makes the price seem better too. To top things off, we bought two packages of half-prices cookies, which turned out to have been made by our server.

Yelp
Amazing real wood-fired pizza, fresh ingredients, great meal! Traveling from Quebec to Portland, this was the perfect lunch spot!

Anne F.

Yelp
I desperately want to give 5 stars because these guys have some of the best soup we've ever had - Sausage & Squash Soup! We even bought extra frozen containers to take home with us. We love this soup enough that we just talked about taking a drive up that way just so we could get some more. Who knows? Maybe we're overreacting, but the stuff hit us just right. Other than the soup we ordered, we shared a ham and smoked mozz sandwich. Although the service was friendly, it was very slow. It took a LONG time to get that sandwich. Once it did come, we thought the sandwich was great and were happy with our choice. The outside seating was nice and we enjoyed eating on their patio on such a beautiful day. The only downer was the Crooked Face Creamery, right next door to The Miller's Table wasn't open. Two side notes. First, if you go to Miller's Table to eat, you really need to stop in at Maine Grains and do a little shopping. It's also next door, but on the other side of The Miller's Table. It's a super tiny store, but I managed to spend a hefty amount on several flours, a jam, and a cookbook. Second, as we were walking back to our vehicle, I noticed they had a large patch of mint growing next to the building. By coincidence, I had mint on our grocery list and we went back in and asked if we could pick a little of their mint. They were great about it and told us to help ourselves to as much as we wanted.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Best home cooked food made with local ingredients. Staff is incredibly accommodating and kind. I eat every meal in Skowhegan here. The black bean burger with fresh local greens is amazing, the mac and cheese is amazing, the bread made from Maine grown wheat is amazing. And can feel good about also supporting a local business that is supporting so many other local businesses.

Yelp
Great pizza- the crunch is hearty and filling and the toppings are delicious. The servers and woman who makes the pizza were very friendly and welcoming. They also talked quite a bit about how the pizza ingredients come from local farms which is cool.

Victoria B.

Yelp
Great food. Always consistent. Came to google their hours, and I saw that they had a four star rating. No way this place is way better than that.
google avatar

Antoine M.

Yelp
Menu slightly changes every season which means it's worth making multiple trips. The food is pretty good and the pizzas are the highlight. There are also a lot of good dessert options. Place is a touch pricey, but it feels like a good treat.

Erika S.

Yelp
A lovely surprise. Lots of food and drink to enjoy in house and so much to chose from to take home and enjoy later. Can't wait to go again

Amy A.

Yelp
Fantastic healthy fresh food. Service was excellent. Seating in the courtyard was exquisite. Take away breads and bakes to remember a most wonderful meal are available for purchase. We need more of you in Central Maine!

Yelp
Looking for a new place in an unfamiliar town and stumbled across this... Wow. Stop here if you have a chance. Menu is fabulous. Service is fantastic and the food is even better. Don't wait until the late hours, so good they sell out of everything. We started with Poutine. A very elegant version topped with fresh sprouts. House made Sangria and punch. Well made drinks. House salads with homemade dressing and a fantastic pizza. The whole meal was well prepared and server was great.

Wendy O.

Yelp
Food is good. I had the pizza with arugula and capicola, which was great...so why 3 stars? The service is TERRIBLE. I had the worst waitress I've ever had today. I had to find her to order drinks, find out where our food was (after waiting an hour) and I just went to the counter for to go boxes and my bill because she was nowhere in sight. There was one lady there who seemed to know what was going on, but no one else did. I really like the food, but I hate bad service so I will not be returning.

Yelp
We waited an hour and a half, and it wasn't busy at all. The specialty drinks are good, but the "classic" drinks seem to be made incorrectly. DO NOT ORDER THE PERSONAL PIZZA IF YOU AREN'T A TODDLER. The personal pizza was tiny and not enough food at all. The food is good, but it's not worth the wait, and it's not large enough.
google avatar

Simone L.

Yelp
I believe everything here is locally sourced. The service was prompt however the food took awhile. The person I was with got a breakfast sandwich which was really good. I ordered the pancakes. The first pancake was delish, however when I cut into the second pancake it was raw in the middle. I didn't have the time for them to remake it so I just ate around it. It did come with real maple syrup.

Yelp
Handcrafted pizza and salads. The bread is made on the premises. It was delicious! And the service was spot on. So glad we went.
google avatar

Yelp
We waited for over an hour for a Mac n cheese (which was subpar) and pizza. I had to track down a server to get our debit card back after 15 minutes of sitting there trying to leave.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good pizza and a wide selection of craft beers. Plenty of of outdoor seating. It was a hot day so that was not fun but should very nice well into the fall

Yelp
Stopped by here to visit Maine Grains the grain shop connected to the restaurant and stayed for lunch! First of all, the story of the revival of this small town through this transformed jail and The Bankery down the road is great to learn about, but time for the food. We ordered the special meatball melt, the blue fig pizza (balsamic glaze, olive oil, figs, sweet sausage, mozzarella and bleu cheese), and the garlic lovers pizza. We got the personal size pizzas that were 6 inches and all three items came with a side salad. The wood fire oven added great flavor and texture to all our items! The meatball melt had Maine grass fed beef and was really flavorful and sauce worth dying for. Meatballs were a little dry but worked with the sauce and mozzarella. The blue fig pizza was my favorite. It all came together so nicely and the bleu cheese (my main concern) wasn't overpowering! The garlic lovers pizza was standard - flavorful and great texture but standard. Both pizzas had this fantastic wheat crust that added a great hearty flavor and strong texture. The side salad was simple but the best I've had in awhile - mixed greens instead of the typical romaine and sweet cherry tomatoes lightly dressed. We finished lunch with a slice of the blueberry peach pie which was also made with a wheat pastry flour. The crust was flaky and delicious, and the filling was very fresh and went well with the ice cream! Overall, the service was very friendly and helpful. We shopped a bit in the Maine Grains store while waiting for our food and the lady working in there was very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. On our way out, we also snagged one of the ginger cookies and a tub of the granola - can't wait to try them when I get home!

Yelp
Food was incredibly salty, pasta was sour and overwhelming pepper. Over priced, waiter was not attentive- BEWARE. This is the only bad review I ever left on Yelp.

Yelp
First time I have been to this place. Reminds me more of California, where I am from than it does Maine. This is not a knock. We came for lunch, four of us, spur of the moment. No long wait time and we got a table on the patio. Ended up being too hot so they nicely moved us to a more comfortable outside area. Waitress was prompt and courteous. She took our order and I realized she had a few things to learn about her menu like how big the burgers are. 7oz, I had her ask. By the way, it was not crowded. Anyhow, I ordered the grass fed beef burger, medium rare with two cheeses. And fries. My son got the garden salad with beef tips, Med rare. My wife and daughter shared a large pizza, pepperoni and veg, from the wood fired pizza oven. The oven is a very cool copper oven. Very pretty The burger was cooked absolutely perfectly. Though, it was hardly seasoned as well as it was cooked. I had to add salt and pepper. I consider this a minor issue. The fries however were awful. Cold, and not fully cooked. Some had a crunch on the inside. If you serve a burger and fries, the great burger needs very good fries. This is a fail. I did not send them back, it was lunchtime and we were pushed for time. Salad and steak was perfect. Pizza was hot and cooked perfectly though the sauce was on the bland side. I know this is a new place. So I am forgiving. But the fries alone take this from a five to a four. And my waitress completely forgot my drink. Another server took care of it. I am gonna be back and I expect it will be perfect.

Yelp
Challenge #1: getting someone to notice you. Like anyone at all. We walked into an empty restaurant at 6:30pm on a Friday with 5 staff members standing there and no one made eye contact. Challenge #2: if you do finally get seated and put an order in, you may have to go get your order yourself. Speaking from experience. To call it service would be a stretch. This restaurant won't last long. I've been twice and both experiences were appalling.

Yelp
The waiter was wonderful (Pleasant, attentive, and provided a $5 off coupon for a pizza). Unfortunately, the food did not meet the description on the menu. I will go back to try pizza for review later. Judging by the reviews they are not catering to the local constabulary. But for today, Overpriced and Underwhelming.

Yelp
Reasonable prices, nice staff, cute decor and location, and yummy food! Our family of five had a variety of things for this lunch stop: Poutine, white pizza, "grains and greens", clam chowder, Mac and cheese. All happy. Pizza crust very unique and really liked by all who tried: like a wheat sourdough. Menu could be a little bigger - but there a variety of items that would appeal to most people.

Yelp
Waited for about 15 minutes for service and got no response so we left. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason about how people get waited on,this is not meant to be hurtful in saying this. The food is awesome, but the disorganization may hurt success of the business.

Amy G.

Yelp
Very good pizza! Service is quite good too. Haven't been here in a while due to Covid but the food is very tasty and I miss going. We will have to order takeout soon. Everyone should try their delicious brick oven pizza! I would hate for this place to go out of business.

Peppermint N.

Yelp
This isn't really a restaurant but more of a cafe...that doesn't do espresso. The items they have are fresh and not bad. It's just akward to try and eat. It's pastries or very lite items. Buuuut, without espresso...why? I'm guessing it's a night scene for brewery items. For breakfast it was a miss.

Yelp
We had a great time having dinner in their courtyard. The atmosphere is great, the staff friendly, and the menu a nice combination of new American and comfort foods. We enjoyed the poutine, some individual pizzas (one had blueberries and the other potato!?!) and we finished the night with a rye chocolate cookie with a raspberry drizzle. We will be trying breakfast soon!

Yelp
It was ok! I really wanted myself to like this new local restaurant. I loved the outside seating and the lighting. The Margaretta pizza was good, but didn't have a lot of taste. They do have a lot of options to choose from, so I will definitely have to go back and update my review!

Laura D.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to try this place because of the hype about it: a new, small place; local owners; locally sourced ingredients, etc. When we got our takeout home, we opened the boxes and discovered that one pizza was not even close to what we ordered and the other was topped with only one of the two ingredients asked for. The food was stone cold (not even warm) and dry. What a letdown, especially considering the "upscale" price! We won't be back.

D M.

Yelp
Great service! Great food! Tasty & plentiful breakfast. Outside seating. We went on Saturday morning. Convenient to farmers market as well.

Jessica R.

Yelp
Went for breakfast a couple weeks ago. The breakfast sandwich was amazing!!!! Sooooo good I wanted to order another one! Scrambled eggs, cheese, micro greens and bacon jam on a biscuit! Their French press coffee was delicious as well. The kids got baked donuts. They only had one option, lemon rosemary, which my daughter devoured, but my son would have preferred a more traditional donut. They also serve "milk flights"! 3 tiny mason jars saved on a tray. A chocolate, a strawberry and a regular milk. So good and adorable! We will be back again!!!

Yelp
1. Ambience - was seated in outdoor courtyard -which was previously the approximately 30 'x 30' exercise square for prisoners - it still looks and feels like a prison - 4 brick walls - sixteen or so feet high - asphalt floor - no decorations - very depressing 2. Service - waitress brought wrong meal to me, I waited 5 minutes for her to return but she did not so I had to go to the kitchen to find her and tell her she left me with the wrong meal - I had to wait 15 minutes for correct meal to arrive - meanwhile my other 3 dinner companions have eaten - when waitress finally returns with my meal 15 minutes later - the steak fries I ordered with my burger are BURNT BLACK! 3. Food - over half of the micro brew beers on the menu were not available - and not a single offering of a white beer - A basket of grossly under cooked, doughy - cut up pizza dough crusts were brought to the table as "appetizer"- completely unappetizing and utterly disappointing. I ordered local grass fed beef burger which was dry like sawdust and tasteless like sawdust, the salad was wilted and wet and lacked the anchovies which were supposed to be the feature of the salad. 4. Hands down the worst dining experience in recent or distant memory -
