Maisan-chi Guesthouse&Cafe

Location of the property is superb- less than minutes walk from Fujisan Station. The host is very accommodating and super helpful. I urge all of you to be considerate as the host running the property alone. The property is so clean and spotless. You also have a choice of Japanese or Western breakfast but please order by 9pm the night before. The mix dormitory befits the "Waking up to Fujisan view" and the common rooms are quite insta-worthy too. Really comfortable with the price you paying. Nothing to complain except for solo ladies traveler, it would be a bit quiet to walk alone after dark. Visited in 2019.

We loved this guesthouse. Amazing view of Mt Fuji from the common room. Short walk from Mt Fuji station and we also walked to the pagoda nearby one morning for sunrise which was amazing. Room was spacious and nice interiors, share bathrooms were neat and clean. You can have breakfast included if you let reception know which was delicious and appreciated. Would definitely recommend!

I loved the facilities. The bed was really comfortable. The view to Mount Fuji from the bed and the dining room was amazing. Incredible breakfast, really really good. Everything was really clean and cozy. Location is really good. The host seems a little bit cold, but it was a minor thing. Had a great time in there. Totally recommended.

Awesome! Great location - just 30 minutes by feet from pagoda. Cozy and comfortable interior. Great kitchen with tatami. Free homemade breakfast - incredibly delicious and served in a traditional Japanese house. Room with very soft and warm blanket and a view on Fujisan from a small window.

It was a great time there. The guesthouse is just about 5-10 minute walk from Fuji Station, easy to find a place by GPS. Room is clean and comfort in traditional Japanese style. The pantry room in the second floor, you can see the view in large window where you can enjoy the view with a cup of tea. Shared bathroom and toilet are very clean. Shampoo and soap are available in there and towel is 100 yen for rent.

The guest house room is sparkling clean! Owner Mai brought its interior design to the next level as travelers can enjoy the stay with fabulous public spaces/washrooms and shower rooms! The communal area has an excellent view of Mt.Fuji and various amenities. The breakfast (free) is a must try and is served in a traditional cafe outside the guesthouse. The owner Mai makes fresh breakfast every morning for guests by hand. However make sure to reserve and order before 9pm the night before as owner needs to prepare. Strongly suggested for any and all travellers. We had an absolutely lovely experience!!

The guesthouse is very clean and tidy with traditional Japanese design. The location is good, 10 minutes walking from Fujisan Station. Mai is very helpful and able to provide you with information about the surrounding area in excellent English which will be a big help if you do not speak Japanese. Facilities are basic but modern and the guesthouse is a great value compared with a hotel for someone who will spend the whole day outside exploring the area. I used it as a base for climbing up Mt Fuji. Good for solo travelers.

Really cozy place to stay at. The person managing was friendly and helpful to our needs. The room featured tatami style Japanese rooms, only that toilet and shower is shared amongst other guests in the corridor. Also has a kitchen area with all sorts of amenities upstairs. Even includes free breakfast so long you ordered the day before, served in the other building. Highly recommended.
