Maisan

We would have never found out about this place weren’t it for some Korean relatives. Took about 50 minutes from Jeonju to get here by car. What a beautiful park, and an amazing monument/shrine at the very end of the walk. It’s not a difficult walk, just a bit hot in the humidity. Incredible how the stones have stayed like this for so long, it’s very impressive. Couple of food and restaurant options along the way if you want to turn it into a longer day thing. Clean facilities as well like the toilets.

It is a famous tourist attraction and a mountain that received three stars from the Michelin Green Guide. The hike is 9km. However, it is not that far away if you pass Topsa and Eunsusa. It is possible as long as you wear sneakers. Make sure to see the Cheongsil pear tree of Eunsusa after seeing the male mai bong at Ammaibong in Maisan Mountain. You will also be lucky in your life to see the bizarre towers of Topsa. If the waves of Topyeongje are calm, you will also be lucky to see the reflection of Maisan Mountain. All four seasons are good, but cherry blossoms in April are the icing on the cake.

Very beautiful place with not much crowd. Great place to take a leisurely walk and wind down. Getting there is not difficult. I took the direct bus from Jeonju train station but there seems to be only one bus at 920am in the morning. Not sure if there are any buses in the afternoon tough. The journey took around 50 mins. You alight at the southern entrance to begin your hike. Follow the trail up the mountain and exit through the Northern entrance where you could take a public bus to Jinan bus terminal. From there, you have several express buses that take you to other major cities.

Maisan is a mountain of Jeollabuk-do, western South Korea. It has an elevation of 686 metres. It's an awesome mountain to visit. Once there you can learn about some of the history related to the Horse Ears Mountain.

It is always interesting to walk in a mountain like a man lost and struggled to find the way .At the atop it is usually amazing to have the world seen again

Interesting stone mountains, but this place is kinda hot, better to avoid during summer
