Maison Bistro & Hotel

What a fantastic hotel. Everything was superb. George the receptionist who greeted us on our arrival was so friendly and welcoming. He ensured we knew about bus routes, how to purchase public transport tickets (which are great value for money). He recommended places to visit and even offered to book tickets for the Danube cruise we were interested in. Our room was spacious and spotless. The bathroom had the best shower we’ve ever used and offered L’Occtaine toiletries . We ate at the hotel three nights out of four- eating at the hotel’s partner restaurant Arany Hordo, which was excellent. The menu choices focused on Hungarian based cuisine which was delicious. All of the waiting staff were fantastic, Alexandra spent time explaining about traditional Hungarian food which was really interesting. Breakfast included hot choices and a good selection of continental style dishes. This is a great hotel with a variety of rooms- inside the hotel, in the courtyard and situated in another building further down the street. We can’t praise this hotel highly enough. Fantastic!

Hotel|This hotel deserves 5 + stars although I am tempted to give it a low rating so that this lovely small hotel is not always sold out.||Staff is patient kind professional and outstanding in both the hotel and bistro.||I was in a beautifully appointed room opening to a courtyard. Each room is individually designed keeping many of the details of the original architecture.||Housekeeping services were provided every day which since COVID is a pleasant surprise and an appreciated amenity. ||Bistro |A lovely breakfast is included. It has a European style buffet along with a selection of entrees. Oh and fabulous Coffee||I enjoyed dinner there on my first night. It had a lovely, casual atmosphere. There is a limited menu but has something for everyone. My meal was delectable. The wait/kitchen staff were courteous, professional and appropriately attentive.

Overall, we had a really nice stay at this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect, right in the old town and next to the Fisherman’s Bastion, which made exploring the city incredibly easy.|The room was a good size, the décor was a bit basic, but that wasn’t an issue for us since we were mostly out during the day. One thing we really appreciated was the bed: firm (which is quite rare in hotels) and very comfortable.|A few small downsides to mention: there were no proper blinds, so the room filled with light quite early in the morning, and during the night we could occasionally hear the water pipes. Nothing dramatic, but worth noting.|I completely forgot to take pictures of the room, but the breakfast definitely deserves a mention it’s the buffet that was soooo good, and the Eggs Benedict were absolutely to die for.|The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help, which really added to the overall experience.

A wonderful and very comfortable hotel, where you can really feel at home . Beautifully decorated and very clean rooms, feels like an appartment, with details like in a museum, but in the same time very cosy and excellent functioning. Hardly any noice because it is separated from the other rooms in a quiet courtyard . Very nice tiled shower and so comfortable ! For us the best place in Budapest, situated in the nicest area of Buda, in the middle of the old city near the castle. The breakfast is very rich and complete, the egg-dishes are the hit of the town. The service very sympathetic, the waiter literally speaks all European languages. We definitely think this is the best place to stay in the city. We are hoping to come back another time , it must be great in the summer/spring as well.

This hotel is just the best. The rooms are large and tastefully decorated with an eclectic creative flair. There is a 24 hour reception. Its location couldn’t be better. The staff is friendly, helpful and has a good knowledge of the area. The breakfasts were the best I had on my 3 weeks of travel. We found some fantastic restaurants within a short walk and it is really easy to uber across the bridge , walk , or take the bus. The views at night from the area are breathtaking. I am picky and would stay here again.

From helping me schedule a late-night transfer from the airport to Maison Bistro and Hotel to giving me spot-on recommendations for dinner on premises, the staff were all so friendly and helpful. The breakfast at Maison was excellent with the home-made jams being true standouts. The duck liver pâté, stewed beef cheek, and light Pinot Noir made for a wonderful dinner. And the crème brûlée was WOW. My room itself was spacious, warm, and tastefully decorated. The location was great!

I’ve never stayed at this hotel, but I’ve returned twice just for the food. The portions are just right, and the service is excellent. It’s a wonderfully quiet and relaxing environment; I’ve sat in the courtyard in summer and recently inside to avoid the cold. Most recently, it was the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal while reading my book, 'Picnic'.

Our favorite hotel for 4 years! We’ve been coming back to this hotel for 4 years, and it always feels like home. The staff are kind and helpful, the location is calm, and everything is just perfect for a stay in Budapest. The tasteful decoration and relaxing music during breakfast make every morning a pleasure. Highly recommended!
