Maison Carne Marseille

Great experience at Maison Carne in Marseille. We mixed up our reservation and showed up a day early, but the waiter was super accommodating and got us seated without any issue. From start to finish, the service was friendly, relaxed, and attentive. There’s no menu here, the waiter just asked how we like our steak, and that was it. He kicked things off with foie gras and bread, which was a great surprise. We ordered our steaks medium rare, and they came out perfectly cooked. Great crust on the outside, juicy and tender inside, and full of flavor. The kind of steak that doesn’t need anything extra. It comes with crispy, well-seasoned fries and a simple salad that pairs really well with the meat. They also have a really cool wine concept, you pay €1 per centimeter in the glass, so you choose exactly how much wine you want. Fun, different, and perfect if you don’t want a full glass. We loved it so much we’re already planning to come back later this month with our kids. Can’t wait to return. Highly recommend if you’re in Marseille and want a great steak without the fuss.

Staff were immediately super friendly and seated us without a reservation. They spoke good English and were happy to explain everything. It is a set menu with a starter of terrine and bread, which we really enjoyed. Then comes the star of the show, the steak, and it was divine. As it was lunchtime we shared this and it was more than enough for 2 people. It was well charred but still medium as requested, accompaniments of French fries and salad were good and we had ordered bernaise sauce which was delicious. We rounded off the meal with a creme brulee to share and a coffee and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Food was incredible and the steak did not disappoint! You get a 1kg piece with about 600gr worth of meat (which was more than enough), with a choice of sauce, fries, and salad. And soo tasty! Would recommend and go again 😋 Staff were also super friendly and fun!

Really nice stuff and atmosphere. Ordered a medium rare steak - was brought well done. They redid it but to more rare version - got a severe food poisoning after though I only had a few pieces of the new steak. It is a nice restaurant but if you have only one dish option one should be more proficient in doing it well.

Went here for a date night with my husband and it was fantastic! The waiter explained everything and the steak was incredible! Our only regret was not getting a bottle of wine because it’s charged by the centimeter drank! We would go again next time we are in town ☻

Amazing service and 10/10 food. I loved this restaurant and their approach to customers. Makes you feel like you’re welcomed at their home. Love it. A Marseille staple for sure!
