We were in Paris for just a couple of days to celebrate my husband’s birthday.
We chose the hotel very carefully, as we wanted something special.
The location, the building itself, the room design, and the cleanliness were all excellent.
However, there were a number of negative details that spoiled the overall impression.
The service reveals a lack of staff training in small but important ways. Let me give a few examples.
At breakfast, they ask which tea you would like and then bring a different one.
In a room prepared for two guests, some toiletries are provided in only one set. After the first housekeeping service, one of the bathrobes was missing.
Because of these small details, there is a feeling of inattentiveness toward guests.
But one moment surprised us greatly.
During check-in, in conversation, we mentioned that we had come to Paris to celebrate our birthdays. Although we did not ask for anything, the staff member said that on the birthday they would “put something in our room.” In reality, unfortunately, my husband was not even congratulated verbally.
Such strange empty promises and inattentive service are certainly not what one expects from a five-star hotel. As a result, our stay did not feel special, and we left with a sense that the price of the room did not match the level of service provided.
