"Come for the Cookies, Stay for the Waffles Maison Dandoy has been baking delicious treats in Brussels since 1829 and you'll find their famous shops scattered around Brussels. Step inside, and you'll be greeted by the sights and smells of crunchy biscuits (cookies) looking much as they have since the shop began. The beautiful packaging makes Dandoy cookies a great gift (even if it is for yourself). Be sure to try the traditional Speculaas (or Speculoos); a spicy, crunchy gingerbread cookie, popular throughout the lowlands. While the Dandoy shops can be found all over, only one is home to the Dandoy tearoom. In my opinion, it is well worth seeking out for arguably the best waffles in Belgium. There are two types of waffle here—Bruxelles (Brussels); rectangular and flaky and Liege; rounded and baked with sticky sugar. How best to eat a waffle in Belgium is hotly contested. Locals swear waffles should be topping-free. I however am a sucker for the stewed cherries and vanilla ice-cream. However you order yours, just don't ask for a "Belgium Waffle."

BEST WAFFLESSS, never had waffles so light and the chocolate paired so well. Could have eaten one by myself 😆 We ordered the one with strawberries as well but was weird because it says “cooked strawberries”, it was still tasty:)))

Google
One of the BEST waffles ever had. Please note that if you go closer to the time they choose, they sometimes run out of Brussels waffle. Really good options and fast customer service

Cheers from Alaska! My wife and I stopped here during our Europe honeymoon and what a treat this was. Grab a liege waffle without any toppings - just the plain waffle. It is delicious! Pair it with a speculoos macciato and you'll be in heaven.

Google
Best waffle I ever had! 😋 It was amazing. The most authentic way to have a waffle is as it is or with powdered sugar. I loved the Brussels waffle more than the Liège one. Brussels waffle is more softer while Liège is more flakier. Ofcourse both are delicious. Must visit place in Brussels!

Google
I tried two different kinds of soufflé pancakes—so good! Not too sweet, super fluffy, just really delicious. I’d definitely recommend it. There’s usually a long wait at this location, but they have other spots too. You should totally check it out!

Google
My first official "Belgian" waffle. It was honestly AMAZING. I was told this was a tourist thing- but Brussel style with queens favorite was my fav! Would def go again!! Costly but LOVE❤️

Google
One of the oldest and most famous waffle places in Brussels. They always have a queue because of its location and popularity. Also, recommended by most of the tour operators. Their waffles are absolutely amazing. We tried the classics. With vanilla ice cream and cooked strawberries. Please note the price is slightly higher than the other waffle places nearby but this waffle is a must try and I am sure if you try once you will not look for any other waffle.

Disrespectful and Racially Insensitive Experience I had an extremely disappointing and humiliating experience at this café. My wife and I, both Black, were the only customers of color inside or outside the establishment during our visit. After waiting in line for over half an hour, I politely asked a male staff member if we could sit indoors as it had started to get chilly. He pointed to a table and told me I could sit there. As I walked to the table and placed my bag down, a heavyset white female employee suddenly shouted at me across the room in front of a silent crowd of white customers, asking if I had been told I could sit there. I replied that I had. She then loudly questioned me again, asking if I had waited in line, to which I said yes. There was no apology or acknowledgment of how she embarrassed me publicly or treated me differently. The entire exchange was humiliating and left me feeling targeted and unwelcome. The atmosphere made it difficult to enjoy the food or the time with my wife, who had simply stepped away for a moment. I cannot shake the feeling that the treatment I received was racially motivated, and the lack of any courtesy or respect only confirms it for me. I would not recommend Maison Dandoy-Grand Palaceto anyone, especially customers of color, based on my experience. No one should be treated the way I was—especially not while simply trying to enjoy a meal. I wish there was a 0 Star.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of eating here a few times on my trip to Brussels this summer. I had the Bruxelles waffle with whipped cream, chocolate and strawberries and a cappuccino. It did not disappoint. I had to make a stop before my flight back home it was so good. A must try when you're in Brussels Belgium. It will not disappoint!

Yelp
This is a must go to restaurant in Brussels! Very popular among the locals and tourist. Waffles were nothing like the ones in the USA. Different flavor, different texture very authentic and delicious! I recommend to go there when they open because there was a long line when we left. No reservations, just walk-ins. Above the store are two levels of Restaurant. It isn't very big so you may be waiting a while for this delicious wonderful authentic waffle house. I highly recommend! Five stars ! Yelp
€12 for one waffle. The strawberries were the best part (a little jammy), but the rest was average. It also took ages for our food to come out. Worth trying, but probably wouldn't come back.

Selina G.

Yelp
Light, fluffy, and crispy. Great waffles and fast service. There was a line everytime I passed by but it moves along pretty quick.

Yelp
Sweet spot in the Sablon neighborhood of Brussels. I popped in as I was finding another bakery to sample a few things as I was getting hungry and needed a snack. A lovely woman greeted me and asked what I would like. I tried a few pistachio cookies and palmiers. Both were delicious!

Yelp
My husband and I went to the location in the Royal Gallery for breakfast one morning; I got the Belgian waffle, which was light and fluffy, and my husband got the liege waffle, which was smaller, but more dense and crunchy with sugar bits. Both waffles were pre-ordered with nuts, strawberries and a generous portion of whipped cream. They were very tasty! I thought my waffle could have been both a little warmer and softer (felt like it had been sitting out a bit and gotten hard). Overall not the best waffle of my life but I'm glad we got to try Belgian waffles when we were there, and the ambiance was lovely - we sat outside the Galleries location in the early AM, so there was not yet much foot traffic and it was fun to people watch.

Yelp
Maison Dandoy is an iconic gaufre shop in Brussels and the most famous. They do capitalize on this and a Belgian or Liege waffle is definitely more expensive; at least 3-4 euros more for a plain with a dusting of powdered sugar. Most places push the Liege Waffle, a denser, sweeter type with its pearls of sugar embedded within. At Maison Dandoy, they keep it Brussels with their Belgian/ Brussels waffle, a lighter, crispier, and less sweet type. It was 6 versus 3 euros as seen at other mom and pop shops. Supposedly they press these and serve, but the product I receive definitely was not fresh due to its lack of warmth. Overall, it was crispy and fluffy, therefore, -- in spite of the price tag -- it came with some satisfaction. The shop is a preferred one, too, as it contains multiple floors and spirals upwards with many a window seat peering out to the streets below. I did not experience a wait on a Tuesday at 16:30. A perfect place to stop in for a gaufre, sit, and utilize their clean bathrooms. I have some reservations about the freshness, but due to its renown, Maison Dandoy still does serve undeniably tasty waffles and it is a no brainer to ensure it is visited.

Yelp
Ordered liege waffle just the plain one. Without sugar sprinkle. It was sweet already. Paired it with my Laurent Gerbaud hot choco. My perfect Belgian bfast combo!

Yelp
Worth the hype! The best waffles I've ever eaten in my life! I can't wait to go back to have some more.
google avatar

Yelp
The waffles here are what I think of when I think about "Belgian waffles." These waffles are lousy and don't require any syrup.
google avatar

Robert C.

Yelp
By far the best & most famous waffles in the city. The place's always packed but it's definitely worth the wait! You have the option to pick your waffles: Brussels Waffles (light & crisp - less sweet) OR Liege Waffles (dense, filled with sugar bits - sweeter). If unsure, go with Brussels Waffles; It's the better base since it's less heavy & sweet + all the toppings there're super sweet. Then you can either choose from a variety of waffle menus or customize your own. I recommend making one yourself. Their menus are great but a lot of them (especially the best sellers) end up being overly sweet. I see most locals getting the simpler waffles there. The waffles are indeed great. So crispy outside & fluffy inside. Way better than other waffles I've tried there. For about €8, it's a must try when you're in Brussels.
google avatar

Angkana P.

Yelp
It's delicious, the waffles is light and crispy, cream is delicate and light. If you are in Brussels, Belgium , you must try this. The ambiance is perfectly located in the historical shops building .
google avatar

Yelp
Can't beat having a Belgian waffle and coffee. It was delicious. I was told this is the place to have a waffle in Brussels. Service was a little slow, they seemed very busy and we sat for a little while waiting for someone to take our order. However, once we ordered, our waffles and coffee came out pretty quick.
google avatar

Secil A.

Yelp
It took a while to find Maison Dandoy that produces waffles. Has seating outside which was really nice. Has Brussels and Liege waffles. Liege was definitely more tasty in my opinion. They had run out of strawberry so I only got them with chocolate sauce. They don't have a lot of toppings but the waffle is delicious. Service was pretty quick as well
google avatar

Irene Y.

Yelp
Great place to stop, everything was delicious, bathrooms are available. Service well, we had a less than enthusiastic person. They needed a smoke break.
google avatar

Corey C.

Yelp
Worth the hype and the longer wait times to experience the delicious, warm, wonderful waffle experience. They've got a way for you to waffle on the go as well, so you can order at the counter and walk away with a fresh ironed treat. Get this - I don't normally LIKE waffles and actively avoid them during breakfast outings - but I would travel hundreds of miles for these pillows of goodness!
google avatar

Yelp
Can you go wrong with a shop on "butter street"? If you want to get Speculoos treats for your friends, this shop has you covered in numerous ways.
google avatar

Sze Ting L.

Yelp
Maison dandoy is the most famous waffles place in Belgium, and for a good reason! Their brussels waffle was indeed the crispiest, lightest, and airest waffles I ever had. I ordered them plain with just powdered sugar to eat it in the most authentic way, but honestly the toppings were very tempting as well and looked great. I'm honestly not sure if it's possible to make a better brussels waffle. All their drinks come with a complimentary biscuit, and afterwards I couldn't resist sampling all of their bisuits (they're actually extremely famous for them as well). My favorites were the peanut butter cookie, the caramel cookie, and the almond speculoo. The packaged biscuits were on the very expensive side, so I recommend buying them by weight if you don't care about the presentation.
google avatar

Geraldine M.

Yelp
Worth the hype! I think we paid 8 euros or so for the powdered leige waffle with strawberries and vanilla ice cream. It sounds sweet and it is but i loved it. Nice crisp waffle with good taste and the vanilla ice cream had actual vanilla bean flecks in them. There is usually a line but we were lucky enough to go when there were only 2 or 3 people ahead of us.

Yelp
This place and its waffles are the first two things that are gonna pop up in my mind whenever I think of Brussels ever again! The waffles here are a godsend, being the tastiest, yummiest, most delicious I've ever tasted (and don't even get me started on the whipped cream, my god my mouth is watering just by thinking about it). The powdered sugar on top is perfect and the crispinesss of the waffles is amazing! Expect some wait time with how popular the place is. The tea room upstairs is pretty busy and might demand some extra patience to get in. Once you enter the shop, cookies and stuff can be ordered on the left, the waffles are on the right. They have both Brussels and Liege waffles at this location, with an assortment of toppings to go along (you can't go wrong with any). 11/10 would go back again!
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
YOU MUST come here. Their waffles are so yummy, you'll thank me later. I came here and my boyfriend and I each ordered a waffle to split so we can try both. They were perfectly made with the perfect amount of powdered sugar. Although it attracts lots of tourist, the food really is highly recommended. I did not have to wait long so that was a plus. The staff was friendly, the prices were affordable, and the coffee was fantastic. Highly recommend and I will definitely visit again if I am ever in Brussels.
google avatar

Yelp
An incredible waffle without a doubt even if it is super touristy. It was recommended to us by our tour guide and yes it was touristy. We went at night and there was a still a short line out the door. Everyone was getting waffles even though they did sell other things. I would recommend the sweeter Liege waffle as it'll have a bit of a caramelized flavor. It comes with either brown or powdered sugar for free. Toppings cost an extra euro or two. You could just do the waffle but i got it with chocolate and it was amazing. That being said, I wish I had said no brown sugar and just done the chocolate. But it was very good and worth the price/wait

Yelp
Belgium waffles in Belgium? Hell yea!! It's a must. Even if you don't waffle, you waffle here. You must. Mason Dandoy seems to be the place to waffle too. I visited a few of their spots. Some with over 2 hours wait on a Monday to some with pretty long Tuesday afternoon wait. But alas, I got my waffles anyway. Best part about this place: Belgium waffles in Belgium!! Amazing. Fresh, light, fluffy, comforting! So warm. Hmm hmm good. And then they have pastries! Literally a whole glass counter full. Those! Those are the best part. You won't even need the waffle but you must try. I had their sampler platter ( €8 I believe) with variety of cookies and pastries, a latte and their waffles classic with vanilla ice cream & strawberries added. And super fluffy homemade whipped cream. Easily my favorite brunch of 2020!! Well being in Brussels help. But it was the whole experience. I love the ceterville, centro! The grand palace! And the people watching. Plethora of chocolate shops sampling. And this! What's not to like.

Yelp
Finally found freshly made liege waffles while you wait. Quality ingredients and so very tasty! So worth the wait. Yummy

Shafqat D.

Yelp
An amazing spot that introduced me to the wonders of Belgian waffles. Ice cream on top of a Belgian waffle along with a few other toppings was very heavy but absolutely delectable, almost gratuitously so. It's why I had Belgian waffles several times during my short stay in Brussels.
google avatar

Irwan A.

Yelp
Here is the 3-1-1: Food: For an early morning quick bite as the upstairs dining is not open until 11, Dandoy prepares waffles to order and freshly squeezed orange juice all in front of the counter when you place your order. The waffles are so light and airy it is what a Belgium waffle should be and with a simple dusting of powdered sugar the waffle is the star of the plate. A great place to stop as you walk through the square, but you need to find your own place to eat the fluffy treat. Service: Quick and easy if you get there early as there many waffle makers behind the counter so they get your order out so be ready to know what you want. Ambiance: Simple café setting with other treats available to purchase so it can get crowded as the waiting area is minimal.

Ms M.

Yelp
Amazing waffles, I wish I could bring them back home. Oh and the whip cream is so rich and creamy you have to try it to understand. I am not usually into sweet things, but this was the right balance of airy and richness. We also enjoyed the upstairs dining area.
google avatar

Vy T.

Yelp
The tearoom at this location was about a 30min wait, the view wasn't great but it gave us a place to sit and enjoy our food/drinks. We ordered three Belgium waffles and three coffee drinks. Waffles - good waffles but there wasn't anything that wowed me and made me think Belgium waffles are better than any other home-made waffles or waffles you can buy at a cafe. I think it's overhyped. Great to try and experience but no need for a second time. Specculoos drink - my friend said it was delicious and everything he expected. Literally specculoos mixed with coffee and whipped cream, a drink you can't get back in the States or other shops from what we've noticed.
google avatar

Kelsey A.

Yelp
Super tasty. I got the Brussels Waffle with chocolate sauce and cherries. My husband got the leige waffle with chocolate sauce. Ooh it was so good. The chocolate sauce wasn't too sweet and the tart cherries really paired well. My only complaint is there wasn't anywhere to sit. They have a tea room upstairs, but we felt like we would have to order tea to sit up there. My husband ended up with chocolate all over his face (not that that's too terrible of a thing )
google avatar

Rylee T.

Yelp
I can honestly say that Maison Dandoy has the best waffles I have ever had in my entire life (and I LOVE waffles)! I am not one to usually recommend touristy places, but this really is home to the best waffles in all of Brussels. Upon arrival, there was a long line for to-go orders. My boyfriend and I wanted to sit down and eat inside, so we gave them our name and only waited about 15 minutes (which was fairly short for how busy it was). We both ordered the liege waffles (a warm, carmelized, buttery waffle) with gelato and strawberries and I also ordered a milkshake. The shake was just okay but I am giving this place 5 stars for how out-of-this-world amazing the liege waffles were. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Debby N.

Yelp
THIS IS NOT THE LOCATION THAT SELLS WAFFLES. This is a bakery selling fresh Maison Dandoy biscuits and cookies. The location selling waffles is a short distance from here. COOKIES AND BISCUITS GALORE. I had a chance to try a variety of their biscuits and they were so delicious! Freshly baked and out there for you to taste. I ended up buying a box to bring home to California. I was definitely tempted to buy more but resisted! Good luck to you all! I have to say I LOVE the cute packaging! Although the total cost of the baked goods can be quite pricey, I'd say the cookies are worth every bite. I bought a croquants croustillants box w/ Pain d'amandes and Biscuit caramel beurre salé. (12,50 euros). The Pain d'amandes is a wafer thin speculoos with toasted almonds (yumm) and the buerre sale is a smooth and crunchy biscuit with salted caramel. EVERYTHING IS GOOD. But I definitely recommend these two!!!

Yelp
A trendy cafe specializing in desserts, or specifically... The place to get your share of Belgium cookies and waffles (:! I came with the intention of crossing Belgium waffles in Belgium off of my bucket list... Upon walkin in, there was a great assortment of cookies and waffles to purchase. You can get "take away" or sit at the little outdoor cafe. We ordered the the Belgium style waffle with chocolate, icecream, and Advocaat on the side (it is an egg yolk and liqueur mixture). The waffle was sprinkled with powdered sugar and was light, airy, and crispy. Definitely different from the heavy batters they sell at home (in the USA). Tasted amazing though the Advocaat is definitely soemthing getting used to ahha, it had a very clear liqueur after taste. We ordered milk along side the waffle and it came with a little butter cookie biscuit. The milk tastes somewhat like an evaporated milk but went wonderfully with the waffle. Though pricing is more so on the steep end for a waffle (total came out to be around €10), t was well worth it for the experience :)
google avatar

Yelp
This is tourist central! Super long lines but damn are those waffles delicious! I recommend the liege waffle all the way. Some of the best I've had. In the states, there are a few places that are comparable but a visit to Brussels wouldn't be complete without trying out Maison Dandoy. Just a note, there are two locations that are very close to each other. One location sells only their baked goods (get their speculos with dark chocolate) and the other sells baked goods and waffles and coffee.
google avatar

Ann P.

Yelp
This is the place to get waffles. A local actually recommend it to us. I am so in love with this place. There are two types of waffles the liege style and the Belgium style. The liege style originates from the south and is traditionally eaten with toppings. This style is light and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. It comes in the form of a rectangle. The Belgium style is a free style waffle that is very dense in the center. It is usually eaten in one hand. I love their pistachio ice cream! It's about 1 euro to add to your waffle. This is one of the best places to get a waffle in the area.
google avatar

Eliot T.

Yelp
Their speculoos indeed does not disappoint! Its light cinnamon taste and chewy texture makes it amazing to pair with some black coffee and a friend to chat with! I am absolutely going to come back for more before leaving Brussels tomorrow! In addition to that, their service was wonderful! The attendant was extremely courteous and patient as I paced around, trying to make a decision. Just make sure to watch out for sugar cookies! They are indeed, VERY VERY SWEET.
google avatar

Wahed K.

Yelp
There are waffles are then there are these waffles. Even for the high bar set for waffles around these parts, these must rank somewhere near the top. Judging by the paucity of reviews for this place but the number of people lining up behind us, I think a lot of people come to location and somehow end up reviewing another location. Get it right people! This is the one the Spectaculoos glass door. You will know what I mean when you see it (or see the pic I posted). Anyways, the waffles. I had the Belgian waffle with chocolate sauce. The waffle was crispy, light, airy - all the things you want in a "spectaculoos" waffle. The chocolate sauce was amazing too. Like, it makes me think drinking liquid chocolate out of a cup for breakfast might actually be normal. They also have sitting upstairs which hadn't open yet when we got there (think they mentioned 10 am is when they open that space) but it's very easy to get the waffles to go and eat it while walking. Definitely one of the highlights from our Brussels trip.

Haley M.

Yelp
A must have when you're in brussels. Super cute little shop and really unique combinations of waffles!
google avatar

Kenny C.

Yelp
Our tour guide said that this was THE waffle to get, so of course I had to stop in. Apparently, you're supposed to just eat the waffle plain because it's made that way and is pretty sweet. But I'm a rebel, and a fat ass, and I needed to stuff as much into my gullet as possible. So I did ice cream and syrup. Couldn't resist. It was delicious. Bring it to the Grand Place, grab a seat, and just feel all your worries melt away.
google avatar

Cathy C.

Yelp
I'd pick waffles over pancakes any day. Crispy golden deliciousness that is open to many possibilities such as strawberries, bananas, nuts, syrup, Nutella... This location is close to Manneken Pis so if you want to have a waffle, definitely go here. Sure, there's a waffle place everywhere in Brussels. Some even sell them for 1euro. From the outside, this place doesn't seem busy at all. Once you go in, chaos! Get a table if you see one. A server will come to you. Otherwise, fall in line inside the cafe and grab some goodies to take home or eat while you wait. They have speculoos everything, madeleines, spreads, sables, macarons (not the coconut kind and not the tiny colorful French cookies with a filling in the middle either...but they are macarons). You can also watch them make waffles - I know that doesn't sound too exciting. I was watching a guy with an elbow brace ladle waffle batter onto the waffle maker but I was entertained as he was desperately trying to remove the cooked waffles that were stuck onto the maker. The lady at the counter picked the nice looking waffle for me instead of giving me a piece that looks like somebody forcefully tried to remove stuck waffle from the waffle maker with a knife. We tried a Brussels waffle and a Liege waffle both with warm chocolate, strawberries and hazelnuts. Their Brussels waffle seems bigger than what other waffle places sell. It's crisp and fluffy. The Liege waffle sweeter and harder than the Brussels version. We took our waffles to go. They only had plastic knives and no fork. When it comes to food, I can improvise and make do with whatever is given to me. Cut the waffle into bite size pieces, poke and pick up each piece with the knife, use the wide and flat side of the knife to scoop toppings. Nothing can ruin my enjoyment of a perfect waffle. Not even the the creepy passers by who watched me eat my waffles right in front of Maison Dandoy...one guy was within breathing distance from my waffle! Take note that they don't have bananas or Nutella to put on your waffle. You'll see some stores, cafes and delis carry MD items like cookies and spreads. They are more expensive than most waffle places and you have to pay for each topping. You pay 2 different prices: dine in or take away. Take away is about 30 cents cheaper. This pricing applies to the waffle itself and each topping.

Manolis K.

Yelp
Amazing breakfast spot offering high quality coffee and excellent Belgian waffles. The bakery at the front is also stunning and the atmosphere is lively and elegant.
google avatar

Sandee L.

Yelp
You can find Maison Dandoy's goodies in many establishments in Brussels, but why buy there when you can go to the real deal? We got the liege waffle with chocolate and the brussels waffle with caramel. The liege waffle was the clear winner! The brussels waffle was really crispy and crunchy to the point where it was HARD and difficult to swallow. The liege had the perfect combined texture of crispiness and softness. At more than 5 euros a pop, I expected these babies to be ah-ma-zing (compared to the ones on the street that are 1 euro). I actually thought the ones on the street were better. There's abundant seating upstairs (look for the semi-hidden staircase in the back).

Yelp
Continued from Charles Buls Review... ...Items Selected: Biscuits - Speculoos, Sable, Chocolate Sable, Pure Butter and Frangipane, Pistachio Sable, Patience, Bernardin, Raisin, Palmier, Feuilletine Sugar Brioche, Cherry, Royale, Pain a la Grecque, Dark Chocolate Speculoos, Milk Chocolate Speculoos, Vanilla Speculoos At this point around 16h00, dinner plans at 19h30, it was to warm smiles that entry was made to the rustic looking shop on Rue au Beurre and greeted by a pair of clerks with samples a taste of the Pain a la Grecque was quick to sell customers hook, line and sinker, the rest of the cookies and confections no less compelling and charged by weight likely to lead most to an order exceeding €20. With nowhere to sit in the narrow shop and atelier it was with three bags packed that options were taken to the car and opting to enjoy the items in conjunction with chocolates back at the hotel one would be hard pressed to name any cookie that was less than excellent the sables like crispy dollops of butter while brioche, Palmiers and Feuilletine reached high standards set by the French, each style of Speculoos as good as the last with a best bite found in the original topped by a tablet of Laurent Gerbaud's Dark Chocolate.

Yelp
If you're looking for a introduction to legit Belgium waffles, Maison Dandoy is the place to go! No liege waffles are served here so if you're looking for the belgium waffle's spongier cousin, this ain't the place for you. I visited one of their many shops yesterday afternoon to try out the Belgium waffle everyone was talking about. And though it's simple - just a waffle and powdered sugar (toppings are available though) - I can assure you it is done right. With a crunchy outside and a soft inside, it was a surprise that I only got one, especially since it was so light! I also snatched a few samples of their famous biscuits. It only took one cookie for me to buy 3 prepacked bags and a 100g bag for myself because they were so good. My favorite was the caramel cookie with their almond speculoo coming at a close second. With delicious Belgium waffles and and biscuits you may wonder why I rated them a 4 star. Well here's your answer: poor service. For an establishment as well known as Dandoy, I did not expect our waitress to be straight up rude. Now onto the long story... we walked in she was cold and didn't even look at us when I asked for English menus. When we went up to order she demanded that we take a seat as she was going to come over and take our orders only if we were to dine in. Fine. Okay. So we did. And when we ordered she really pushed my buttons after failing, well more like not even attempting, to answer my questions about the afternoon set menu and how to order the biscuits. It was uncomfortable interacting with her as it felt as if I was bothering/annoying her...and no customer should feel that way. At the end, I sent someone else to pay because I couldn't stand any more interactions with her. Other than cruddy service though, the waffles and biscuits are some of the best I've had to go and give Dandoy a try!

Yelp
Never have I ever had such delicious waffles in my entire life! They were incredible!! I ordered the waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. The entire combination was wonderful (I especially enjoyed the whipped cream). The only downside is that there is no outdoor seating nearby. Therefore, I would recommend eating inside of the tea room rather than taking the waffles to-go!

Yelp
Apparently this is one of the best waffle places around. I love the way it smells. If you come to Brussels, you gotta eat a waffle and this is o.g.

Yelp
We loved the hot chocolate (without cream) and the waffle (with two toppings ). Not all Maison Dandoy locations have waffles or both types of waffles. We went to the location at Les Galleries Royales Saint Hubert and it does not serve/have liege waffles. Friendly service but they are busy, so there could be a wait. Hot chocolate was €3.5/serving. Waffle was €5.5 (no topping).

Yelp
Speculoos!! A biscuit containing cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and brown sugar is a Biscuiterie Dandoy speciality! I wanted to try the freshly made Liège waffle but they were out. I had the regular and it was served piping hot and crispy while also soft and chewy.

Yelp
Whether you're a fan of the fluffy Liege Waffle or the crunchy Brussels Waffle, Maison Dandoy is the god-tier from which all tiers of waffles are determined and it's not hard to see why. I have an aversion to all things sweet so it took about a day's nagging and convincing from my fellow traveler (who had already visited Dandoy three times within the two days we'd been here) to actually come and try a waffle from the legendary confectionery that people in Japan used to go nuts over (they still have a storefront in Tokyo, I believe) At first I was offered the Brussels Waffle by my companion, and since she knew what was up, with no topping except for the powder sugar they baptize the waffle in before giving it to you on the ghetto to-go plate. The Brussels Waffle was interesting to say the least as I'd never thought of a waffle as something that should crunch and kind of stick to the top of your mouth at the same time, but I digress. As I had already had breakfast prior to meeting up with my friend here, I had to wait until the next day to try the Liege Waffle. Where the Brussels Waffle felt more like dessert or a hearty snack, the Liege Waffle was more like a meal; chewy, fluffy, glutinous -- I felt like I could probably go run a half-marathon after gobbling down two of these. Short story short, Dandoy kindled an unlikely respect for waffles in my dessert-hating, sweets-avoiding palate. Dandoy's confectioneries also make a great souvenir to take home to friends and family; don't be that guy who waits until the last minute to buy chocolates and cookies for friends and family and end up buying stuff you can already get internationally (e.g. Godiva, Leonidas) at the airport instead of something that is truly unique and Bruxelloise.

Yelp
A moody waiter that complained about everyone's diction could not destroy the good times here! Cheap beer.. and what a show! The show being the light display around the grand place! Sitting in comfort (ok my companions were cold) with a beer in hand & watching the show... No better place to be!
