You couldn't ask for a more central location. With the thick door/windows closed, most of the city noise is kept out. Open them for some fresh air, and well you are practically on the street. This old mansion has plenty of character. Whether you will find it quirky, funky or just informal is a matter of taste.||We felt well cared for, although we never met the owner. There are some things that are wonderful and others not so. A very comfortable bed, a spacious room, although up quite a few stairs. A decent shower and wonderful Frette bath towels.||While the breakfaste area, both inside and out, is charming, we found the breakfast quite average. Ther is more quantity than quality. Yes, there is a wide variety of jams, but the breads and croissants were nothing to write home about. The juice, yoghurt and coffee lackluster. While included in the price, we would have been better going across the street.||There are information sheets in the room inviting you to turn the tv on and switch to ORange for a wide selection of channels. That didn't work for us, and in the afternoon, there was no one to ask for help.||Secure parking, much appreciated.||So, at a good price, a decent stay. but if there is a next time in this town, we will be looking elsewhere.

Nathalie was so wonderful making us feel welcomed. We felt at home & safe during the 4 nights we were there. There is a good variety for breakfast and we enjoyed the special treat that she makes daily. The property is centrally located, walking distance to the sights & restaurants. The room we had was quiet and big with a comfortable bed and a big shower/bathroom. This is an excellent place to use as a base for a few days. ||My husband and I are very grateful to Nathalie for her help when there was a problem with our next destination. The problem was resolved before we left Arles.

The room was beautiful, spacious, and tastefully decorated, with very comfortable bedding. The location is ideal for discovering the city.||||However, we did not quite enjoy the overall atmosphere and felt somewhat out of place. Breakfast was a little disappointing: the selection was limited, and we had the impression that asking for more options might have been inconvenient.||||Regrettably, we do not plan to return.

A beautiful mansion in the center of Arles. Our room was huge, cheery, and comfortable with a big, fully modernized bathroom with a terrace, two sinks and an enormous shower. Natalie, the owner, served a big, delicious breakfast and was very helpful on local arrangements such as our taxi to Avignon tgv, where we had to be on time.

Great location...especially for the market.|Nice doggie there. Beautiful view of Arles.|Easy walk to the Van Gogh sites.|You can smell the fish market right outside your window. Pub and market right next door. The traffic and police cars can keep you up at night even if you close the windows tightly. No elevator.

Natalie is a gracious host and runs a charming bed and breakfast in a large historic house close to the centre of Arles. All the main sites are within walking distance. Our room was a good size and the bathroom was well appointed. We had the luxury of an outside balcony area. There is a garden which must be nice in warmer times.||Breakfast is taken outside or in the breakfast room where guests gather around a large table. The buffet is huge. There are generous sitting areas outside the rooms and some interesting artwork.||We much enjoyed our stay. Natalie has two large dogs but they were impeccably behaved and no problem.||Private parking is available. The house is close to a main road but surprisingly quiet. Recommended.

We loved out stay at Maison Douce Arles. We stayed two nights as part of a trip from southern Burgundy to Bandol. Our hostess, Nathalie, was so friendly and accomodating. We loved chatting with her during breakfast, learning more about the area and her very interesting and impressive life. We had a lovely breakfast with freshly baked breads, meats/cheeses/ jams/jellies, eggs. The room was so spacious and absolutely beautiful. There is on-site parking secured by a gate. We were able to walk to all of the major sites (Roman ruins, Van Gogh sites) in minutes. There is an Irish pub right next door, in case you need a break from all the (delicious) French foods, and all sorts of other cuisines available nearby.

Nathalie was a wonderful and helpful host with assistance from Jimmy and Max (her friendly and well behaved dogs). She recommended L’Affenage for dinner which was reasonably priced, delicious and close to the hotel. She was also helpful in arranging taxi’s which are not so readily available. The delicious breakfast is a great way to start your day in Arles. Highly recommended.
