This New Hotel Might Be the Most Fashionable in Paris

"Located in Paris's 17th arrondissement, just steps from the Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées, the anticipated Maison Elle officially opened its doors in December 2022, a month ahead of Paris Fashion Week, which begins on Jan. 17. It's the first hotel concept for Elle — and a homecoming of sorts. The women’s lifestyle glossy was founded in Paris in 1945. And while the brand has expanded into hospitality before with cafés, spas, and salons in cities across Asia, it has gone without a physical footprint — barring its French edition of the magazine — in the City of Light, until now. Taking over the former Hotel Flanelles, Maison Elle Paris is a collaboration between Elle Hospitality and hotelier Pascal Donat of Valotel France. To handle the interiors of this intimate 25-key property, they enlisted local design duo Laurent & Laurence to embody the French art de vivre. The common areas have been created for both relaxation and socialization. A dining room, decorated with inviting velvet sofas, is used for both breakfast and afternoon tea, where the latter features sweet treats by CinqSens’ pastry chef, Nicolas Paciello. If you’re looking to kick back and relax, the tranquil living room boasts a library with a curated selection of books covering fashion, art, and Paris. But for a livelier evening, head to the bar, where you can enjoy a craft cocktail while recounting your busy day of exploration. To round out the experience, there’s also a spa complete with a sauna, steam room, and yoga studio, along with a boutique selling Elle-branded products. Up in the rooms you’ll find inspiration from Parisian wardrobes: Breton stripes on the curtains, denim upholstery, chevron parquet flooring, and tweed fabrics are all a nod to iconic French style. Meanwhile, black-and-white checkerboard–tiled bathrooms, stocked with Byca toiletries, are reminiscent of a classic bistro. Laurent Bardet, one half of Laurent & Laurence, tells Travel + Leisure that the goal was to create a “home as if you were invited by a Parisian friend for a stay,” and effectively crafted a residential vibe with inviting reading nooks against the windows and custom furnishings and fixtures by the duo. Rooms start from €250 (approximately $271). For more information, visit Maison Elle Paris’s website here." - Travel + Leisure Editors

I stayed in one of the suites on the first floor of Maison Elle Paris, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The bathroom was thoughtfully designed with a proper dry–wet separation, and the shower area was impressively large—spacious enough for two people to shower comfortably at the same time. Another detail I really appreciated was the smart toilet, which added an extra touch of comfort and modern convenience. The room itself was very spacious, and the bed was large, soft, and incredibly comfortable. The pillows and duvet were also cozy. Even though we visited Paris in November, when temperatures dropped to around 1°C, the hotel and the room were consistently warm and welcoming. Breakfast is served from 7am to 11am, making it ideal whether you prefer an early start or a slow morning. The staff were exceptional—warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive. They offered helpful sightseeing suggestions and assisted with anything I needed throughout my stay. Coming back to the hotel each day and being greeted with their lovely smiles made all the cold and fatigue simply melt away. The location is fantastic as well. It's less than a 10-minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe and surrounded by several cafés, restaurants, a car rental company, pharmacies, convenience stores, and supermarkets. I truly loved my stay at Maison Elle Paris and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

To my friends at Maison Elle in Paris. My wife and I had a wonderful stay at your hotel in June. From the warm welcome when we arrived, to the beautiful accommodations. We were greeted every morning by Gurpreet who put together a wonderful breakfast. We can't say enough about the wonderful service we received during the week of our stay.Thank You

We were really disappointed with our stay. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel (and paid more) was for the sauna and hammam facilities. We booked a slot the day before and got up early to use them, only to be told on arrival that they couldn’t be switched on due to a technical issue. There was no clear information on when or if it would be fixed, and no offer of an alternative time or any kind of gesture (like a complimentary breakfast or partial refund). Instead, we were told we could use the yoga room which is clearly not the same thing. Also, how are both the sauna and hammam not working at the same time? Very frustrating, especially when this was the main reason we chose this hotel. Disappointing experience overall, especially given the lack of communication and poor handling of the situation.

Had a fantastic stay at Maison Elle a few weeks ago. We were warmly greeted by Flo, who gave us a very thorough rundown of the hotel and area and showed us all the amenities. We were super excited to receive an upgrade from a Premium room to a Junior Suite, which was so wonderful. The room was huge for Paris standards, it had a sitting area, large bed, and huge bathroom with a massive soaker tub. What really got me was all of the little touches - nice toiletries in the bathroom, bidet built in, great espresso machine, and a large counter and great lighting for doing makeup, which is hard to find in hotels in bigger European cities, no pedestal sink here! Everything was clean and gorgeous, and the room was very peaceful and quiet, we didn't hear street noise or other guests at all. We did not have time to use the spa or check out the common areas much, but they did look wonderful. Location is excellent for getting around Paris, it's 2 short blocks (2 minute walk at most) to a huge metro and RER station and from there you can get anywhere easily. Also less than a 5 min walk over to the shops on the Champs-Elysees. I'd say the only thing lacking with the area is a neighborhood feel, it is very touristy being where it is, but we didn't mind that as we were out eating other places and we even appreciated it because there were always people out and about near the hotel, it felt very safe even later at night. They lock the doors after a certain time and you buzz to get in, which is also appreciated, it feels very safe. Overall we had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return!
