Very welcoming staff, helpful and sharing ideas on what to do in the region. ||The room was nice and well arranged, opeining on the garden - which is also a very nice and quiet relaxing place. Parking is included, and bike renting can be organized. Close to the best villages in the Marais Poitevin, worth the stay !||||Only small remark is that all the room doors smash in the mornings and evenings, which is really very noisy (especially when several kids are running from one room to another), maybe think of a way to have the system on the doors slow them down more ?||||Arçais is a very small place, with not many convenience stores, so keep in mind you will not find a laundry service or a supermarket in the village.

A lovely place to stay in a lovely peaceful town. Just 100 ft away from a boat and bicycle rental, this great B&B lives up to its reviews. Great outdoor sitting areas by the stream. Delicious, healthy breakfast out on the patio including homemade yogurt and cakes. Wonderful bath products made with essential oils (my wife was a fan). Decent size room and french doors on the windows to allow a cool evening breeze in (no A.C.). Firm comfortable bed. Homey, warm and welcoming.

Maison Flore is a quirky, clean, fun, perfectly-sited base to explore the Marais. Rooms are large, well-decorated, with comfy beds and good bathrooms and provisions. Breakfast was ample and tasty. Their garden, right by one of the main canals, was a beautiful place to relax in their hammocks or garden loungers, the silence broken only by birds and the occasional party of novice canoers working out their paddling skills from the canoe/punt rental right opposite. Recommend going to them, as well: we took a three-person canoe with a picnic lunch for a half day for I think 30 euros (picnic extra - they can arrange one), and that gave enough time really to get beyond the more-visited canals used by 1-hour boaters, and into the maze of other canals where we felt like we were the first boaters to pass in weeks. Beautiful. Maison Flore staff can also recommend great restaurants nearby - we loved one in Damvix, the name escapes me.

The Maison Flore is all one would hope for in an eco-hotel: in a beautiful and unspoiled part of France, all its features were aesthetic and delightful while respectful of the natural world. Each room is different, decorated with beauty and originality. It was a pleasure to comply with the careful instructions for conservation and recycling. Breakfast was wonderful, all organic, with homemade breads, pastries and yogurt, unusual jams, elegant and whimsical table settings. This was our second visit: we stayed one night the first time and five nights the second. We are already thinking about returning in another season.

We stayed one night in this tiny town. It was Whit Monday, a public holiday, and during the day the place was buzzing with visitors to restaurants and boating on the waterways. Later the place was dead, and only one restaurant open, fortunately a good one, the Patio. My room facing the rear of the hotel was quiet. It was quite large and comfortably furnished with some character. My bathrom was smallish, but adequate and very welcome. Wifi in my room was marginal. The breakfast room has a something of an informal cottage feel. It was a more generous than many continental breakfast with fruit, yogurt, cereal, hams and cheeses as well as croissant and orange juice.

We stayed 2 nights in this delightful small hotel. The proprietor was most helpful and charming. We enjoyed the peace and serenity of the setting. Our room was most comfortable, fresh and clean. Very good value for money. Highly recommended.

5 stars for the friendliness, the nice breakfast, the cleanliness and the fair price a good place to do bicycle tours and paddle tours in Marais Poitevin. The town of Arcais where Maison Flore is located is nice and picturesque.
