We like this quirky place with its interesting decor, collection of clear glass vases in a lit-up cabinet. Bed is huge and comfy. Room generally isn’t very comfortable. We keep banging our heads on the sloping ceilings, the bathroom water is warm, not hot and only one of us can sit on a chair at a time…it’s super-clean with daily room service. Location excellent. Would recommend in spite of quirks!

A great place to stay! The location was wonderful, very close to many restaurants, bars and shops. We especially liked the size of the room. The bed was king sized, there was plenty of sitting room and the bathroom and showers were big. It was a nice space for us after we had been traveling for some time and had stayed in normal sized hotel rooms. The staff was great and easy to deal with. Overall we would highly recommend!!

What a great quirky place! Very clean which is at the top of our list. Across from a great restaurant. About a 15 minute walk into the hustle and bustle of Bordeaux, so we certainly got our steps in! Spacious room and bathroom. Air con, which was a bonus as we visited during a late summer heatwave we weren't expecting! Would recommend to anyone looking for something a little different.

Adored our two night stay in the Rouge room. Comfortable bed with large living space, although there we weren’t in our room much, with some many of Bordeaux’s sites, restaurants and cafes on our doorstep. Decor is quirky cool and I loved the unique objets d’art throughout. Great being opposite La Tupina, one of the city’s most authentic restaurants. The host, Martin, was very accommodating and assisted with every request. A must-stay.

We stayed for 2 nights at Maison Fredons grey room and loved every minute. The location is perfect, a 2 minute walk to the river and very central. It was a 15 minute walk to the train station and there are 2 tram lines mere meters from the front door. We were greeted by a friendly host and everything explained well with regards to keys, WiFi and entry code. The host was available to contact on WhatsApp. The Grey Room was large and airy, one window on the ceiling allowed great morning sunshine and the other had a cute view of the river. Plenty of space for a couple, gorgeous Corbusier chair in the room and fantastic bathroom with large bath. We will definitely be back!

We originally booked the green room, which looked comfortable and well equipped. We immediately loved the location and quirky decor and asked Karine (the friendly host/receptionist who was contactable at all times via WhatsApp, and very responsive) if we could extend our stay by two days. The larger Yellow room was available so we transferred to that one. It was enormous, extremely comfortable. Very much a suite rather than a room, with a huge bathroom and a great shower. The room was really clean. The air conditioning was brilliant, and the room is light and airy with multiple windows with traditional wooden shutters. We really loved our stay at Maison Fredon, which is conveniently located for the St Michel area of Bordeaux.||Some info you may find useful - secure parking is available a few hundred metres away at Parking Saliniere. Or you can park on the street. Maison Fredon is tucked down a narrow road opposite La Lupina restaurant. We didn’t find it noisy, although you may hear the restaurant tables being put away after evening service. Breakfast isn’t offered but there’s a Nespresso machine in the room and great boulangeries nearby - we got our own. ||We hope to return, and would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay somewhere a bit more individual.

Truly enjoyed our stay in this old part of Bordeaux. Beautiful, large room, comfortable bed and very nice and roomy shower. Great amenities (including climate control), period details, high ceilings (in our Rose room). Will absolutely stay again next time Bordeaux.

We had 2 nights in the green room & it was fab, so different to the usual, more like an Air B&B than a hotel. The room was really spacious & you can leave the windows open all day. The bed, pillows, etc were very good quality & so comfy. It is a great location for a few days in Bordeaux. I would certainly return there......
