Maison Matilda Luxury Rooms

The lady owner and her husband are nice and try to be helpful but: 1- There was no hot water, only lukewarm. It was not possible to take a shower or hot bath. This was reported to the owner but she denied that was the case but the plumber was at the hotel the next day?! 2- The walls are paper thin, we could hear the next room talking all night till 01:45 am and then their snoring. 3- The breakfast was only one croissant and coffee, although we were offered a second drink and eggs. The other guests were offered yoghurt, muesli and fruit. Why? 4- The shower sealant were all mouldy and the shower tray had cracks in it. 5- The room was very dark. 6- When we asked if could leave the car inside their parking area till 15:00 for the next day we were told it was fine but in the morning the son had moved the car onto the street where there was sign showing "Loading Only" and next to it a sign of car being towed away. When I expressed my concern the son said it would be fine and placed the hotel brochure inside the windscreen! I moved the car to a proper car park and paid, I was not prepared to risk the car being towed away. This hotel is well located but otherwise it is some sort of poor quality budget guest house. Hot water is the absolute basic in any hotel/ guest house, without it, the place should not accept guests.

The hotel is beautiful, stylish, and thoughtfully designed. It’s close to all main areas. For guests who are flexible and easygoing, the stay can be enjoyable. For anyone who prefers a simple, effortless visit, the experience may feel less comfortable because some situations require extra effort. The check in and check out process is not as smooth as it should be. The owner or manager is friendly, but they are not present at the property the entire time. We arrived as a large group. The first part of our group checked in without any issues. The second group arrived later and ended up waiting by the front door for about fifteen minutes before they could get inside the hotel and park their car as the hotel front door was closed and nobody was answering a doorbell. Check out was similar. When it was time for us to leave, no one was at the property. I messaged the owner, and although she said she would come, she did not arrive at the promised time. We needed to pay the city tax, but with no staff available, we had to find cash and leave it just on the table (it’s good that we had enough cash with us). We also had to figure out how to open the garage and close the property on our own. Overall, the hotel is lovely, but the lack of reliable on-site assistance makes the stay less convenient than expected.

Maison Matilda exceeded our expectations. Emiliano and Viviana are fantastic hosts and greeted us on arrival. It is an elegant bed and breakfast hotel - while there is no front desk/concierge, the hosts were easily available by WhatsApp to answer questions. The room was tastefully furnished, simple, elegant and comfortable, with air conditioning to cool off the room if needed. It is located centrally, which allowed us to walk everywhere with quick access to many dinner options. We would happily stay again!

Excellent location and convenient parking. Comfortable mattress and fabulous linens!! Delicious breakfast with fresh OJ, wonderful pastries, and eggs with porchetta and the freshest bread I’ve ever had! Highly recommend. I have already recommended Maison Matilda to a friend who plans to run in the half marathon next year.

HORRID to the point I am still sick from having to take a cold bath/shower, lack of sleep due to paper thin walls ( entertained by next door´s conversation and snoring), awful smells the minute you step in and worst is NO apology, a denial of hot water by owner and finding the car had been moved from inside to a towing spot outside. Will never ever ever trust M.Mrs. S. suggestions. This is not a curated hotel, unless your sense of design, style and decor are grotesque. And disregard the false advertisement of Italian high end soap. Instead find a sad soap bar, and a minimal continental wake up call with a hot drink and a cornetto. Truly the worst experience in my entire travelling journey. A hostel in the tropics has more authenticity and charm than this dark spot. Rudeness, denial and the worst hospitality ever.

There is nothing positive to say about this hotel other than the location.|1- no hot water so could not take a shower or bath. The owner denied there was a problem with the water yet the plumber was at the hotel the next morning!|2- the shower tray had several large cracks and all the sealants had mould on them|3- chintzy dark room with no safe|4- the walls are paper thin so could hear the next room talking all through the night and then their snoring|5- we were only offered one croissant and a coffee and then were offered eggs and a second drink. The other guests were offered muesli, a teapot, yoghurt, fresh fruit and juice. We were not offered these presumably because we complained about not having any hot water|6- there is a little dog at the property which you will see at breakfast scratching itself in the dinning room|7- you need to book the parking in advance as there is only space for 3 cars. The next morning the owner's son had moved my car to a loading zone on the street where there was sign with a car being towed away. When I questioned that the son put a hotel's brochure under the windscreen as if that would stop my car being towed away!||This place lacks the very basics: hot water is the absolute essential and this place cannot even offer that. Don't ruing your stay, go to a proper hotel.

Extremely unprofessional/disappointing end to our vacation. We were supposed to stay at Madison Matilda the last night of our vacation in Treviso. Confirmation email said check-in 06 September 230pm. Received an email from the hotel saying our reservation was for 07 September and that they were sold out and it was our problem to deal with. We called Hyatt who verified we were correct the stay was for 06 September and they called the hotel on our behalf to ask why they were not going to honor our stay. They didn’t provide justification as to why they couldn’t honor the stay. Ended up on the phone with Hyatt customer care for 1+ hour and they ended up not having an alternative place for us to stay for the night. Do not book here. This hotel is a scam.
