While in Burgundy, I felt I simply must have boeuf burguignon. Here, I was not disappointed.
The restaurant is in the old section of the city and is a historical landmark building. The plates came up to the second floor on a dumbwaiter. Cool. The service was more friendly than most, perhaps because she was young and I smiled a lot, ha ha.
We had mushroom soup, which was creamy and tasty, and had very strong mushroom flavor. The cream did not dull the soup at all. The cheese tart with salad was a bit soggy. The beouf bourguignon was fantastic. The beef was fork tender (a must) and the sauce was deep and rich and lacquered.
Even the wines that we picked, 2 different glasses of white, and a Marsannay were very good. Very good meal!
