I have no experience as to the hotel during the summer months but in this cold winter the hotel is perfect! We had two rooms in the old wing by the bar and loved the decor and amenities. My stand up shower was fantastic! Very hot and strong. The bed was comfortable and while small the room was well stocked. We are “girls” and had very heavy luggage but the hotel brought them up for us. We loved the bar but did not eat in the restaurant. Breakfast was good but nothing special. What is special is the staff. They are friendly and very helpful. We would stay again for sure

The room vs the pictures is not the same. I booked an executive room and its very much the standard room. Pictures are MUCH nicer than the room I got. Restaurant was also closed. When I mentioned to the desk clerk they should update their website to that fact she very rudely said it is if I bothered to read it... its not on the website. I checked. I would not have stayed here had I known. Parking is across the street, so thats not bad. Take you bags out across the street of the hotel and stick them in the loby, its much easier than dragging them up from the parking garage. Honestly I am sure there are better places to stay in the area. At least something with a restaurant and a room that fits the image they post.

We were a group of 10 ppl for a business trip. The hotel is very well situated, clean and spacious rooms. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. I would recommend this hotel at any time.

Superb. Arrived late and left early so a short but perfect visit. A beautifully clean, comfortable, simple room with all one could need. A good evening meal in historic surroundings and an excellent breakfast.|We were very impressed with the high standards throughout.

Overall our stay was not very pleasant.||We are a family of 3. Therefore we choose to spend the extra money for a family room with garden view. The room didn’t look in anyway as in the pictures. It had a dirty old carpet. The little fridge was off and smelled terrible. All 4 soap dispenser were completely empty, also after housekeeping came. No extra toilet paper available. When we mentioned all this during checkout, the girl at reception was laughing a bit uncomfortable and that’s it.||The restaurant had a menu which was not very tasteful. Also the food did not look a good as on the advertised pictures. The waitress spilled red wine over me which also didn’t contribute to a pleasant evening.

This historic hotel is quite picturesque. We regularly chose to eat and drink at the hotel restaurants and bar - and glad we did. The rooms are large, quiet, and nicely appointed. The location is great for the “walking” tourist. What impressed me the most though was the staff. There was one lady named “Charlie” who was so helpful and gracious; that it was as if we were invited guests in her quaint home. My pet Freddy disappeared while visiting. Upon checkout, Charlie informed me that if Freddy did reappear, that she would adopt him.

Very quiet, recently refurbished room (courtyard view, above reception), no doubt helped by the carpeted rooms and corridors. Doors to the rooms are ‘soundproof’ so no corridor noise. Room not huge, and if you have a week’s worth of clothing for 2, not a massive amount of storage. Good bathroom/shower. Dog friendly. The restaurant was excellent, very high quality preparation. Very good breakfast, everything you need. Nice bar with a good ambiance. Easy to drive to, with secure, cheap parking opposite (with lifts). There is a bag drop off point opposite reception. Overall very good quality and would be even better in summer with their courtyards open. Very friendly staff from reception to the waiting staff to the cleaners. Everyone seemed very happy. Recommended!

Charlie was amazing from greeting us down the road as our bus couldn’t navigate to the door. She went above and beyond to help my sister (wheelchair) & other requests from our group to personally and genuinely asking me if I was ok., thanks Charlie, you made our stay all the more comfortable and lovely.
