So, where do do we start?
Let’s begin with the positives to keep things polite. The food, both dinner and breakfast, is very nice—especially dinner, which we had twice. It was really good: two courses with dessert for €25 per person.
Now, onto the negatives. We had two major inconveniences during our stay. First, communication was extremely difficult. I speak three European languages professionally, yet I was almost always unable to communicate with them. The most frustrating part was that they kept responding in their own language, even after I had clearly stated which languages I understand and which I don’t. Persistently responding in a language the other person cannot understand shows a significant lack of respect and a degree of arrogance.
I also don’t believe the owner has bad intentions—especially the younger woman who handled breakfast. She did try to help, which was appreciated.
If you plan to visit this place, make sure to clarify everything upfront. If you don’t speak their language, things can easily go unnoticed. For example, you need to book the spa separately each day, or else it can be fully booked—even though there are only four rooms in the property and the spa is open from 4 PM to 8 PM.
Lastly, the woman who cleaned our room was very rude about the dogs. We paid an additional €24 to bring them, which should cover extra cleaning costs. Yet, the cleaning lady was visibly upset about the smell, making no effort to hide her frustration. After being direct and firm with her, she eventually calmed down. At the end of the day, that extra charge likely contributes to her salary—so just do your job and don’t complain. In business, the customer is always king.
