We were glad we chose MAISON TANDEM. It is a stylish villa and well situated for Cluny. |Breakfast is good but just lacking finesse. |( coffee not strong enough / fruit not ripe/ not fresh orange juice) But having said that, the setting is lovely and the room was beautiful. |Had we stayed more than one night we would have used the pool.

Lovely boutique hotel (home) in the heart of Cluny, which is a cool little historic town. The interior decorating is exquisite - with beautiful works of art and interesting furniture. The host was lovely and everything was exceptional. What a cool experience - not your typical Hotel - something special! Merci, Francine!

Not very impressed with this boutique hotel. We had the room in the garden. It was a spacious bedroom with a modern bathroom. Unfortunately, our nights were ruined by a pungent smell from the sewage drain in the toilet. It must be a known problem because there was a deodorising spray. But that unfortunately did not bring any relief. The location is perfect close to the city centre and parking is possible on the street. In the evening you can relax in the communal (breakfast) room, where you can buy your own drinks from the fridge. Breakfast is very frugal, coffee and croissant and baguette with jams or cheese.

Beautiful place, great location and a wonderful family hosting. We had a wonderful stay at Maison Tandem when going to Cluny. Quiet location, great interior design, peaceful outdoor area and good breakfast.

We stayed here for one night in room #2 on our way to the south of France. The location is perfect for visiting the abbey and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Shower was great and the quality of the furnishings high. Bedding was also good. The small pool was perfect as it was very hot outside. Breakfast on the terrace was enjoyable but an option for scrambled eggs would make it better. Parking is easy on the street in front of the property but there are also two spots behind the gate. My only other suggestion also mentioned in previous reviews would be to install air conditioning as it was and can be very hot in this part of France during the summer. One note: dinner reservations are absolutely necessary in Cluny during high season. We didn’t bother to reserve a table somewhere prior to arrival which was a mistake. However the owner kindly helped us find a restaurant but suggested next time we book in advance.

Gorgeous, stylish, chic, luxury, I could go on and on with these adjectival description words.....but you get the idea. We travelled with our two kids (small man children: 11 and 14 year old boys). There was a pool for them and outdoor chilling seating. For us there was a lovely bottle of wine in the evening overlooking the garden. Ahh how perfect. But wait.....I’m daydreaming, the hotel. The owner (who is discreetly on hand all the time, but not in your face), has renovated a once large and stylish, clearly prestigious doctors surgery back to it’s former glory. He’s filled it with tasteful furniture and art (he has a advertising background and you can tell from decor). The bedrooms are very large and beds very comfortable. Breakfast is served outside, which he buys that morning, warm croissants, fresh bread etc etc. Very french, very chic. After a long and stressful drive to stop at such a stylish, relaxing place was just perfect. See for yourself.

This lovely and welcoming B&B left us with appreciation and gratitude. Seldom do I find the "god in the details" in every single one. From the choice of linen, the cutlery in the rooms, the high quality toiletries, and the furniture. The works of art carefully chosen and the garden furniture that invites you to stay there the entire day. The complimentary tea and coffee, carefully selected as well and the delightful and delicious breakfast. What a treat! Cedric was a perfect host, passionate about his creation, making sure everybody enjoys his/hers stay. I am so happy we decided to stay there 2 nights, as one would simply be insufficient. And Cluny.....a real gem.

From the road this looks like a small bijou house. Once through the door you find a spacious hallway, big staircase up to bedrooms, two large communal rooms, lots of interesting art works and a beautiful kitchen.||Claude welcomed us in good English and was kind enough to speak French to us when we spoke French to him. This is a big positive for us as we’re often spoken to in English by well meaning French people...which does nothing for our French or our confidence! The bedroom was large, bed comfortable, linen good quality. Breakfasts were very good. Claude even offered boiled egg and soldiers.||The garden is charming with a pool to cool off in (with massage jets). Plenty of seating/loungers etc. We were delighted!
