Maison Volver (Arles, French Riviera / Provence) 5 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"For half a century, the convivial Bar Américain was a favorite meeting place for Arles residents. After the café fell on hard times, an entrepreneurial duo swept in and brought new life to the building, restoring its interiors and opening their own restaurant and twelve-suite hotel. Maison Volver is everything you’d want of a petite urban hotel in a French city: stylish and slightly bohemian, but not trying too hard. On the street level, a lively restaurant with sidewalk seating and chalkboard menus serves up seasonal produce and local wines at rough-hewn wooden tables." - Tablet Hotels

Perfectly located little hotel in Arles with a nice restaurant. The staff was extremely helpful and the rooms very clean. The rooms are small but well designed with modern fixtures. The bedroom area could benefit from some more light and no boxes of tissues were provided, but these were small inconveniences. We had a very nice light dinner in the restaurant, and the staff provided some wine glasses and allowed us to sit out in the cafe area even when the restaurant was closed. Walking distance to the cruise boat dock even with luggage. I was not enamored of Arles overall, but the hotel we chose was perfect for us. Highly recommend Maison Volver if you are staying in Arles.

The rooms are elegantly decorated, comfortable and quiet but reasonably small and basic. The restaurant serves a great mix of foods but the prices are on the astronomical side of reasonable. I know this is a popular area but having lived in southern France for 20 years I’m shocked by the prices in Arles around all the tourist spots.

Beautifully renovated rooms with warm, soft lighting throughout. The bathroom layout was really useful in a way that I do not expect from most hotels. The staff was very helpful in helping us book spa days at nearby day spas and call restaurants for reservations because our French wasnt the strongest. They were wonderful Fair warning, the sheets are all linen which are very breathable and cooling but not as smooth as cotton. I like linen sheets but my partner did not.

I came with my group of my adult students for 3 nights and we had a warm welcome, helpful staff and wonderful freshly cooked breakfasts in a homely atmosphere. The rooms were adequate but rather small but all equipped well. Appreciated the bottles of water each day. Did not like the bedding at all, was very scratchy and have never had such material in any hotel I've stayed before like that.

Such a cozy, chic small hotel with amazing owner couple & staff. Very service minded and friendly. Atmosphere, interior is fantastic. Easy park just behind hotel, in-house resturant with ”tapas style” concept is great, high quality products cooked at the best. We will be back next time in the area. 🙌🏼

After our experiences in Sete and Figueras, those guys should come here and learn how to do basic but nice! This hotel greeted us so warmly and the gentlemen on reception led us up to the room, guided us through the amenities etc. the decor is thrifty but stylish, The bathroom basic but well appointed. The shower produced copious amounts of hot water through a rain head, that made showering a pleasure rather than a necessary chore. A big window that opened over a rear car park but was quiet. The window also has an electric shutter that cuts all noise and light!

This is a really lovely, old school place with just a few people at the front desk, who really treat you as an honored guest and care about your stay. It's a decent size room by French standards, it's very well located at the start of a pedestrian area, and there are plenty of places within walking distance. I would definitely come back.

I had high hopes for this hotel/B&B. It just shows you how wrong you can be on occasions. La Maison Volver turned out to be my least favourite stay on my trip around the South of France. It’s located only a few minutes walk from the train station and is close to all main attractions in Arle. Unfortunately, the area around the B&B isn’t very attractive. There were quite a few young (possibly immigrants) around the area and shady characters hanging around in doorways. |On the plus side, my room was clean and modern although the only view available was of a car park. I booked this hotel because it was advertised as having a restaurant but was informed that it was closed until the end of February. So, after returning to the hotel after spending half an hour looking (unsuccessfully) for a restaurant that was open I returned to the hotel. I went to the bar for a drink and a few snacks. Nothing! No crisps, cakes…..nothing whatsoever. The owners knew that I had been looking for somewhere to eat but simply replied they couldn’t help. Surely they could have provided something! A lack of customer service here!|Breakfast was only slightly better. This was either a Buffet breakfast or à la carte and as a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice was €6 I decided to try the buffet choice. This was priced at an astronomical €25 - ridiculously expensive. But after having no evening meal the night before I decided to go for the buffet breakfast. Even then, the menu stated that this entitled one to a single glass of juice, one cup of coffee, one yoghurt, one slice of cake etc. Crazy! I’ve never seen anything like this before. I did ask the waitress if I could have extra cups of coffee and she said this was fine. So a silly system all round.|So, overall I would not recommend this B&B. At no point did I feel welcomed or that anyone even tried to go out of their way to help. There’s no lift so it may not be suitable for elderly or disabled travellers. Finally, don’t visit in the off season (or Sunday) as the town is deserted. |ADDENDUM: One good point! The hotel did contact me to let me know that I had left my card. So an extra star added! And if you do decide to come to Arles you must visit The Cloître St-Trophime. Simply beautiful sculptures!
