Maistra Select Island Hotel Istra

My family and I spent a week here and were delighted. Because of being on an island, nature is very close and basically everywhere, and nothing is very crowded. The transport with the ferry works flawlessly and runs from very early to very late. Every member of the staff we talked to, including the front-desk, the cleaners, and the dining room attendants were very helpful, polite and friendly. The rooms had all we needed, were clean and in good working condition. There are beautiful views from the windows no matter what direction -- always the sea and nature. The food was amazing, both for breakfasts and for dinners, with a broad variety of options. And kids are not forgotten: they get a special food counter (in addition to having access to the other ones, of course), nice indoor and outdoor playgrounds and enjoyable after-dinner activities (dancing, cartoons, etc.).

Our first stay here and one to remember, the hotel was beautiful and extremely well kept and clean. Our welcome was lovely and we had a surprise upgrade to a suite room from Luka. Luka from reception was extremely helpful throughout our stay, he also allowed us late checkout so our little boy could enjoy the Splash park in the sea once more before leaving which made his holiday. The island is beautiful with plenty to do, lovey facilities and we would definitely come back. The food was really nice and plenty of choice for everyone. The staff were welcoming and helpful, waiter staff cleared plates quickly and kept this tidy and restocked. The children’s entertainment team were great, our 6yo boy really enjoyed the mini disco and games. Thanks for a great time we will be back.

Everything was perfectly organized, we didn't have to worry about things and transfer to the island. Every hour there is a boat to the city and back, which is also a big relief. The hotel is on an island, which provides a sense of peace. The staff is very pleasant, the food is good and hygiene is taken care of.

We chose this hotel because we wanted to experience staying on a small island. It was really nice, the ship from Rovinj to the island drives every hour, which makes trips to Rovinj really easy. Parking is 1.5km away from island reception, but they have shuttle service. So when you arrive, you drop the luggage at reception and drive behind shuttle van to park your car on a secured parking spot. Then come back to reception with a shuttle.||Room was clean and tidy, renovated recently.||We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel. There was a large selection of salty and sweet foods at every meal. Everything we ate was really tasty. They offer some gluten free options, also lots of vegan/vegetarian foods (tofu, legumes, plant based milk etc.). For lunch we went to a restaurant on island or to Rovinj.||Beach is nice, with round pebbles. Sunbeds and beach umbrellas are free to use for hotel guests.||The hotel has outside and inside pools, wellness, fitness. The paths on the island are very good for jogging.||The only bad thing we can write about this hotel is that fitness was supposed to be open until 20:30, but they closed it at 19:30. No big deal of course, but worth mentioning :) Everything else was ok and we will gladly recommend Istra island hotel to others.

The location on the remote island is absolutely beautiful and the shuttle boat is punctual and reliable. The rooms are very nice and clean. Breakfast was amazing and staff were really friendly. Also, the bed (more specifically, the pillows) were extremely comfortable as you get two pillows per person, which is unusual as in our experience you usually get a thin thing that’s barely even considered a pillow but not in this hotel.

Great hotel at beautiful island, close enough to Rovinj but also far from crowds. Service at hotel was perfect, all staff were very kind and helpful. Food is also very good with great choice for everyone. A lot of activities for kids of all ages. Surrounding of hotel is beautiful and beaches as well. We will come back again definitely.

My partner and I decided to come here for a spa day for my birthday and it was truly wonderful. The staff were very helpful but not intrusive. For €30 each, we got a ferry, full use of the spa services (steam room, sauna and jacuzzi) and use of the pool space too. Drinks from the bar were well priced and the hotel was easy to navigate. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in Rovinj for a fun day trip!

Excellent and beautiful hotel in terms of price-quality ratio. It is very well located and it is an experience to travel by boat to the also very beautiful city of Rovinj. The boat transport is fast. There are plenty of tourist activities in the area, the historic city of Pula or a trip to Italy. For our standards, the prices of food and drinks outside of half board are a bit more expensive, but you have to deal with that. There were a lot of acnidarias in the sea some days, but it wasn't that bad. The management was very nice to send us a bottle of champagne to our room for the birthday of one of the family members. I rate the stay at the hotel as very good, the worst part of it all is that it goes by very quickly.
